  1. Try ENBoost. Grab the newest ENB binary from Boris's site (ENB), I think it's 264. Use STEP to configure it HERE. Are you using any texture mods like HD 2k or Book of Silence? If you are, could you please list them for us since they do not have esp's and we can't see them in your load.
  2. Yeah, I'm just way too into a certain look for my game, and have to live with the lower fps. I used to run in the 30s all the time when I was using Grim and Somber Extreme Quality for game play. :ermm: It WAS buttery smooth, but I wanted to add more textures so switched to the Game Play version. Now I get dips, but that mostly due to the scripting mods I use, which are many and heavy.
  3. 100% this ^^ My setup is close, except I have the top-end i5 and only 8GB of RAM. I have a metric-ton of texture mods, but each one was carefully tested, and chosen with looks vs performance in mind. I have nothing that is over 2K. But my game looks exactly how I want it. To me, it's glorious. I'm also happy with the fps I get. I mostly stay between 40 - 50 fps in the wild and 60 indoors. However, when I get close to the small towns JK has overhauled, it's not really unusual to see 30fps and hover around 40 while in there. That's okay with me, though. I think the overhaul looks awesome, and the lag isn't really bad so I'm happy. You'll have to decide what's acceptable for you. Some people play at 20fps all the time and don't care. Some people have fits if the go below 60,even for a second. When you're trying to make your game look better, you have to take everything into account. Do you run heavily scripted mods, they will impact performance as well. Are you adding NPCs, animals or pretty stuff like JK's village overhauls to the game, that will do it too. It's not just a matter of what your computer can handle. You have a great computer that technically should be able to chew through anything. It a matter of what Skyrim can handle, and while ENB, SKSE, StableUGrids and all the performance mods like Project Optimization have made it so we can stuff a lot more in there, the engine is still going to limit what can be done. You can still make your game look amazing, even with the limitations. You just have to be willing to sacrifice fps for pretty.
  4. That's awesome news. :D I'm happy you got it sorted out. You're welcome, mate. :) Glad I could help.
  5. Oh, that's wonderful. Load order sorts my issues out 95% of the time. I've been testing a setup for a playthrough for about 4 weeks now, which involves LOTS of CTDs and usually if I CTD on a save load I can go back and run LOOT again (sometimes it needs to be run twice) and it fixes the issue. Well, until the next one. haha. Testing is a b*tch and CTDs are rampant. Well, it could be a few things. The game running out to memory, which your new SKSE ini will help with. You could be running out of VRAM as well. How much VRAM do you have? The last thing is that Skyrim crashes. It just does. I personally have few crashes that are caused by anything but load order or mods, but it does happen every now and again. I usually crash when the game is trying to load too many things at once. I have Animellica spawning more animals and Immersive Patrols spawning people out in the world, plus Skyrim's random vanilla encounters. Sometimes when they all spawn at once it causes a stutter. I can usually tell when Immersive Patrols is spawning a big battle in front of me, because I get lag. haha. I also run at Ugrids 7, so there's that. But anyway, many things can cause the freezing and stuttering.
  6. I believe the new updated drivers (from both nVidia and AMD) to optimize for Dragon Age Inquisition and Far Cry 4 are stuffing Skyrim. I had a few issues with the new nVidia drivers too, but it seemed to settle down after some tinkering and everything is good now. If the previous drivers worked for you and no amount of tinkering will fix your issues, personally, I would roll them back until the next driver release.
  7. You don't have to have an ENB preset. You can have the Boost part without the graphical changes that eats performance. ENBoost (which is now pretty much standard for most ENB presets) is an extender, kinda like SKSE, that changes the way Skyrim manages VRAM, because the way it does it normally is broken. Make sure if you decide to use it you don't get the one on Nexus! Get the latest binary from Boris's site (HERE) and use the STEP Guide to set it up (HERE).
  8. Gopher has a video on cleaning your masters: TES5Edit. It really can be a range of things. Your PC might be a little weak for what you have running. Skyrim has crap memory allocation, but the SKSE memory patch ini you installed will certainly help with that. It could be scripts causing it. For example, I run a lot of mods and quite a few of them are pretty script heavy. As in, when my character enters a new area, I have about 4 mods that have to scan the new cell to either make adjustments to NPCs (like SoS giving them their correct bits) or calculate their attraction to my character, etc, ect. I usually get a few seconds of lag while all that scanning and adjusting takes place. Textures can do it too. Whiterun is a fps hog for me, because I have mods that add NPCs, so the scans go and I have Dawn of Skyrim which adds content on top of HD textures and ENB. It adds up. Speaking of ENB. Do you have ENBoost?
  9. One a side note, I just went over my LOOT order and notes too and found that I had an outdated BrawBugs. It really is a handy tool!
  10. Okay, awesome. So, you have a lot of dirty mods, mate. You need to clean your masters and find out if it's safe to clean the mods that are being flagged as dirty. With some it will be fine, with others you won't be able to clean them because the edits are intentional, however LOOT doesn't know so it's not placing the "do not clean" warning. I also see two things. Your DOD version is wrong. You have Dawnguard, so you need the Dance of Death Dawnguard Edition. Also, you need a patch for CoT and Sounds of Skyrim Wilds to play nicely together. I didn't see it on there, but I might have missed it.
  11. No worries, mate. I hope that fixes it for you. :)
  12. Sorry, cut some stuff off. hahah. If that doesn't fix it, try replacing theresources/report/script.js file in your LOOT folder with this one.
  13. This is what I found: LOOT's report is blank. How do I fix this?LOOT uses Windows' internal web browser to display its report. This web browser is basically Internet Explorer, but it's present even if you have Internet Explorer disabled. If it's not displaying LOOT's report properly, this may be because it isn't up-to-date. The report display has been tested using IE 11, which is available to all Windows 7 and 8.x users. Windows Vista users can only update as far as IE 10, and though the report should display with this version, it is untested. To update the internal web browser, make sure Internet Explorer is enabled in the "Turn Windows features on/off" control panel, and install the latest updates available through Windows update. That should be enough to fix the report display, and you can disable Internet Explorer again if you so wish. If you're still not seeing the report fill with content, IE may be blocking Javascript from running on the page. Open "Internet Options" and make sure that the "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer" option is enabled. If that doesn't fix it, try replacing theresources/report/script.js file in your LOOT folder with this one.
  14. Huh ... I'm not sure what's wrong, then. :/ It sounds like it's not picking up your mods, like it doesn't know where to look. Let me do a quick search and see if someone else has had the same issue.
  15. Oh, dude, I know how those days can be. No worries. Are you sure you installed it correctly and it knows where your mods are? Here is one of Gopher's videos on it. Maybe you missed a step? I find Gopher to be very thorough and easy to understand. He pretty much taught me to mod. haha. Gopher's LOOT video
  16. Sorry it took me a bit. I'm downloading Premier Pro and it's sucking up what little bandwidth I have. My internet sucks! haha. I use MO so just ignore that bit, but when it spits out the report, it's right where I circled. http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/y481/jennifer_williams8/screenshot_zps80c93e14.png
  17. Now we're cookin' with gas. :D Okay, so you have the 1.7 SKSE. Do you have the ini set up to add the memory patch? You can find a pre-done one here, if not: SKSE INI. When you get LOOT sorted, run it, go to the Details tab, highlight it, right click and copy. Paste it in a massage so we can have a look.
  18. Cool. :) If you only have HD 2k Lite you should be sweet. You can check your SKSE version by going into the console in game and typing GetSKSEVersion and hitting enter. It will then tell you the version you have if it's installed. If it pops back with something like No SKSEVersion or Error or something other than the version of SKSE you're running, you don't have it installed. The page is here: SKSE
  19. No, you don't need to install all the mods they suggest. It's a good how-too guide. What STEP is, is basically a group of people who have put together a step-by-step guide on how to create a stable Skyrim that looks better than vanilla Skyrim, but still looks like it. So the mods they suggests are going to be mods that enhance it, but are very lore-friendly and don't muck with the original feel of the game. You'll never mods like Tropical Skyrim on there (haha) but installing it isn't that different to installing any landscape mod, even the ones they suggest. Don't feel dumb. :) It's a pain in the rump modding this game and the learning curve is high. Make sure, though, that you have all the programs STEP recommends, like TES5Edit, LOOT, SKSE and ENBoost before you start adding mods. The list you have is small, but if you don't prepare your game before you install them even that small list could cause issues. Have you downloaded TES5Edit, LOOT, SKSE, ENBoost and WryBash?
  20. i do not have LOOT installed, i'm gonna guess that this is part of my problem lol Possibility. You need to go grab it: LOOT While we're checking programs, do you have TES5Edit and WryBash? Also, do you have the latest version of SKSE installed? It includes a memory patch that will allow for bigger memory heaps to be allocated by the game. Skyrim's stock heaps are too small, especially when you start throwing mods at it. Until you get LOOT sorted, a screenshot of your plugins tab in NNM would be helpful. It's not going to tell me if your plugins are dirty or not, but I'll be able to at least see your plugins (not textures, though). Do you have many texture mods installed?
  21. You can print your load order via LOOT. That would be best, so we can see if maybe your mods need to be cleaned as well. I'm not at my computer right now, but if you need help with how to print your LOOT report I can give help when I'm home in a few hours. :)
  22. I have ZERO knowledge of computer science and programming. I'm no mod maker. You don't have to have a degree in computer science to mod, just a willingness to learn. If you don't have that, you're going to struggle. The tutorial I linked for you is not a guide on how to make mods, but how to install them correctly. Is there anyone here who does private mod requests for free and can you refer me to them? I know that there are "celebrity" mods that include Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Megan Fox, Jennifer Lawrence. So obviously it would be possible to create a mod of lesser known celebrities like those from obscure reality television shows. The only problem is finding someone willing to do it. That is always the problem, mate. I had an issue where I wanted this follower mod, but was running Requiem 1.8 and he wasn't patched. I asked a few of the people who were making a lot of Requiem patches if they could please patch him for me. But the thing is, if there's only one person asking for a specific thing, most of them won't do it because their focus could be placed elsewhere on mods that A LOT of people or they themselves need or want. In the end, I had to learn how to patch him myself (which was a pain because, like you, I had no knowhow when it came to making mods) to get him running with Requiem. Sometimes you will have to do that if you want certain things. Someone might do it for you, though. :)
  23. Hello. The best thing for you is going to be S.T.E.P. It's a guide which walks you through installing mods, well, step by step. You can find it here: STEP This will give you a good base to build on. For your load order you're going to need a program called LOOT. This will sort the mods that have esp's in the correct order for you. Texture mods, however, do not have esp's, so if you're using NMM, they have to be installed in the order you want to see them in game. For example, if you like the landscape textures from aMidionBorn Landscape, but would rather have the rock textures from Vivid Landscapes Mountains and Rocks, you would install aMidionborn first and then install Vivid Landscaped rocks, overwriting the rocks from aMidionborn. It is explained much better in STEP. Also, be sure to check each mod page and the READ ME that comes with each mod. The author will tell you if the mod needs to be added before or after a specific mod. For example, you would install SMIM first and then ELFX, choosing the SMIM meshes in ELFX's installer, as SMIM's author says on his mod's description page. It's tedious, but will save you lots of headaches and CTDs down the road.

  25. If you're more of a visual person, like I am, you can watch Gopher's tutorials of how to mod Skyrim: Beginners Guide to Modding Skyrim. I'm sure someone could make an NPC that looks like her. I know Jessica Alba and Angelina Jolie are on Nexus somewhere. haha. You've done the right thing by putting it in the requests section, so you'll just have to see if someone is up to the task. :)
