I run Skyrim at Ultra+ and have about 450 mods with 4k where possible. My rig is in a full tower and I have 8 fans in it. I max out between 62 and 65 degrees after an hour of playing. Yours is quite warm. 74 c will cook a pork chop.

I like your thinking SirFoggy. I myself have never used SKSE with SSE. Never wanted the hassle of updates. No ENB's or reshade. According to steam I have 964 hr on SE, and because of my "type A" personally I keep track of things. I have 254 plugins and 419 mod and have not had a lockup or ctd since hr 714. I feel my set up is just as fine as any other (detail wise) and I run 60fps inside (vsync) and around 47 outside with most ever thing 2k or 4k. To many people worrying about their play lists and not enjoying the field. {b.t.b., RLO is very good.}

Question for you all. After many tweaks to several ini files and 285 mods, (165 plugins), I feel my game looks good and runs fine. I get around 42 to 47 fps in outside areas and over 70 in most inside. 980TI card 144hz monitor I DO NOT use SKSE or ENB or ReShade. So, how do the photos look to you? The only photoshopping done was to lower the resolution to upload. Of course, this hurts the image quality.

Have you run the FNIS generator correctly?

One last question. Nothing to do with spec's; just brand reliability . LG or BenQ or Asus ???

I have not looked at resolution too strongly. I do not watch movies on my pc. I suppose 4k is the thing to have but I am just after good monitor with a decent response time. I would not mind having 3840 x 2160. I have always wanted to stay with 16:9 or the newer 1:78:1. My vid card in 980ti. I have loved my ASUS PB278 for several years but it now has a full vertical purple streak of dead so a good excuse to up the grade.

Looking at 32" monitors I don't play fast games. When I have time I play rpg only. Never had a VA panel or an ISP only TN. Is there a big difference in VA and ISP as color goes? Is gray2gray important in rpg's? G-sync? Advice? Thanks

Is there a way to get rid of the background roaring inside caves without getting rid of other ambient sounds? Have searched forums and online for answer but nothing. Thanks.

I did have a freezing problem at one time this year. The game (fallout and skyrim se) would just freeze and in about 30 seconds I would get a blue screen with the message "Clock Watchdog Error". Turns out I had a bad fan and my BIOS was set to alarm at a rpm that the fan could not make anymore. Still haven't changed the fan but I have lowered the alarm and no longer blue screen or freeze.

You need the i7 core before the vid card. The card can easily be upgraded later but a cpu is not as easy. Also, I have an 17-3820 (basic i7), but it plays so much better that my friend's i5. (I get 60 fsp on 175 mods, he gets 35 to 50 on 44 mods) We have matching 980ti cards, but I do run 32 ram. Don't know what he has. My monitor is an Asus 27" running 2560x1440.

Thanks so far. I forgot to mention that I do want an IPS screen. How important is g2g in rpg games? I can get a deal on a Dell UP3216Q 4k but it has a response time of 6ms (or worse, of course)

Needing a new monitor. I play only RPG. No shooters. Suggestions for 27 or 32 inch 4k? Budget is $800 or less (please). Vid card is 980ti. Thanks. WFR

Here's the thing. I like to use courage on my companion to level build, (which no one else does of course), but now when I do the game will CTD if I use it too much. After 5 or 6 hits with courage is all it takes. Always either 5 or 6. Not enough of a problem to want to see if the source is a conflicting mod, I was just wondering if anyone else has this? The fix is easy. Just like the old doctor joke!

Thanks for the reply but no mods used except for USSEP. I finally deleted and re-download the game. Played until I got to an enchanter and it worked perfectly. Install gremlins is the only solution. Now, on with the modding!

Sorry for taking up space. Found I could make it work by choosing the soul gem first, then the item, then the enchantment. Has to be that order. Anyone else?

My problem is that my "Filled" soul gems are not showing up when trying to use the Arcane Enchanter. I have one of every size. They say filled. I have tried on weapons and armour. Am I missing something? Do you have to be at a certain level? Nothing on forums or net. No mods except for USSEP. Took it off too and still nothing. SSE Thanks

By the by, I did roll back my update and played the game for many hours with no ctd.

I got the new win10 creators update today and started having CTDs very often in game. Talking every 10 minutes or so. Yesterday and day before I played for 3 hours straight. No other change. Anyone else? Roll back time?
