  1. At least for my problem I found out that it had nothing to do w/ the mesh files. My error had to do w/ the textures files and a mistake I was making... I was increasing/decreasing the brightness, contrast, etc. on the RGB channels in photoshop for the filename_n.dds. When I should have been changing the settings for the Alpha channel. Works great now. Thanks!
  2. can you be more specific with this. I am actually trying to make the ranger combat armor MORE glossy and having the filename_n.dds file in the proper folder with the other files doesnt have any effect on the glossy/shiny armor. So Im assuming something is going on w/ my ranger armor nif file....and Im a total newbie when it comes to nifskope.
  3. Im not yet using NVSE. So I just changed my base carry weight value to = 0 and changed my carry weight multiplier to = 1 My character has a Strength of 5 (so my carry weight should say 5 lbs right?) NOPE... In game I can carry 75lbs of inventory. I took a buffout (giving +2 STR) and it did do the math right. Because I could then carry 77lbs worth of inventory. I took ant nectar (giving +4 STR) thereby gaining a maximum Strength of 10 and it did the math right again. I could then carry 80lbs. The whole problem with that is, where the hell is the base of 70lbs coming from? With a Strength of 5, I should only be able to carry 5lbs of inventory
  4. fAVDCarryWeightMult and fAVDCarryWeightsBase arent making sense to me. I somehow installed a mod at some point that boosted my carry weight back up to vanilla values. Cant seem to figure out how or when after doing some troubleshooting. It wasnt an .esm though so I thought if I changed my own mod and it was loaded last in FOMM, I could change it no sweat, right? I changed fAVDCarryWeightsBase to 50 and with a STR of 5 I was still getting a carry weight in game of 250. How is this possible? So I changed my fAVDCarryWeightsBase to 5 and with my STR of 5 I get a carry weight of 175. Please see the pic provided and let me know if you can help. As you can see my fAVDCarryWeightMult is still set at 10. :pirate:
  5. i dont c how the xbox360 or ps3 will b able to play this with decent settings. like dynamic snow and shadows and it being a newly developed engine? not that im promoting the PC route. but the xbox and ps3 have been around a while, right?

So reading some articles about what to expect in skyrim..i keep reading about "dynamic shadows" & "dynamic snow". what i wanna know is whats the dif between dynamic shadows in skyrim and say...shadows in oblivion or F3 or F:NV? And what does that mean for dynamic snow versus snow mods for Fallout or Oblivion?
  7. This is so ridiculous. Even with this new patch...and I am a Merciful Thug w/ the NCR...I can still walk around any of their camps without being attacked. Has anyone found a work around fix for this? I find it hard to believe that there isnt a mod that fixes this on Nexus yet.
  8. So with this new update that came out in December, Im wondering if the "reputation fixes" listed would help with some of these NCR, Powderganger rep problems we're having. I cant seem to find a thread other then what I wrote.
  9. No. how would I do that? My experience w/ GECK is pretty limited. EDIT: ok...it appears that Leveled NPC's (in GECK they look like "M") in the render window) wont use any kind of collision detection. They seem to always ignore it and spawn on the ground. I used actual NPC's from the NPC list and they stay on the roof just fine. I'll just have to make new NPC's rather then use a leveled list NPC.<br>
  10. ok. so come to find out, the roof does have collision. I can walk on it just fine, but I tried a second building and I still get the same problem, when I place the NPC "M" marker on the rooftop in GECK, it will detect the roof, but in game, the NPC falls through to the ground. So then I just tried adding a collision plane, and it still does the same thing! :wallbash:
  11. Not sure if this is the right forum page for this topic... Im making a small suberb of Goodsprings populated with some powder gangers (after its been taken over) and Im trying to put some NPC lookouts on top of this building I placed in the game. The problem is that I guess the building wasnt meant to have people standing on top of it, so the NPC's just fall through and get stuck "inside" the building. Im using static object - BldgCorner01. I basically have a bedroll and a chair up on the roof and I want my NPC's to stay up there. Do I have to use a different building all together that has an actuall "roof" or is there a way to make this work with a "fake" roof?
  12. I used the Nuka Cola Theme 3000.esp (which I cant seem to find the mod anymore on Nexus) for my F3 game. It added some awesome re-texturing of the vanilla soft drinks. Ive been keeping an eye out on nexus for one that will incorporate Sunset Sarsaparilla and Nuka Cola, but havent seen one yet. This would be awesome.
  13. I had a mod from F3 that made frag mines go off faster then vanilla detonations. I would like to make something like that for FONV because there doesnt seem to be one yet. (and I dont know how to port F3 mods to FONV) So I was using the geck and looking at the frag mine and I cant seem to find anything that would change the explosion time after its been set off. I seem to remember opening up the F3 mod in the FOMM TESsnip and messing around with the detonation time setting.... Anyways, can I change this in geck for FONV for the mines? EDIT: NM...found the info I needed in geck its a projectile ID form 'MineFragProjectile' 000043FA and it also uses an explosion ID of 'MineFragExplosion' 0007078B
  14. how would i implement this for the NCR...they seem to be fine with me being vilified and walking through their military forts without attacking me. :wallbash: This didnt do anything for me in regard to the NCR. I tried a couple NCR camps, and they were still friendly to me. Would this command help some of us out at all?? SetPCEnemyofFaction If so, how would I use this console command?

  17. ok. now this is getting absolutely ridiculous/unplayable...i just slaughtered several NCR and am now vilified only to be greeting with hospitality at an NCR post. Not only that, I get messages when I kill or steal telling me I "Lost Karma", and I am permanently Very Good. I turned off all my mods and killed about 20 innocent people with constant messages saying I was losing karma and Im still very good. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: im very close to the point where im just going to stop playing the game because its a joke on so many levels. and i cant find any mods that offer any kind of karma fix...not that its their responsibility. Why is there no fix for this yet from the devs?
  18. Its funny because the powder gangers that have attacked me from the begining and wont ever stop are the ones in the prison...at least in my game. its an annoying bug. faction bugs are extremely annoying because they are severely hampering my gameplay due to effecting quests.
  19. So under my profile settings I noticed that I had check boxes for options to be notified through a "mobile" device on certain notifications...How do I set that up? I cant find any options anywhere on my profile page to input my cell number for notifications....

  21. So I became Shunned to the NCR and expected that the next time I ran into one of them I would immediately be attacked, but to my surprise I wasnt. My game is unlucky enough to be severely bugged when it comes to the Powder Gangers so Im real weary now when it comes to something to do with my reputation in game. Is this how it should be? I thought being "shunned" toward a faction would result in them attacking me on site? Instead all they do is mouth off to me in dialogue. I can still walk into their towns, trade, etc. Is this a bug?

So I thought after looking in the geck, that ED-E's textures would be in the texture.bsa under textures\creatures\eyebot & they would be the eyebot.dds, eyebot_n.dds, eyebot_g.dds and eyebot_em.dds files...but it clearly isnt. ED-E has a bumper sticker and a license plate attached to him and these textures dont match up. Id like to edit his texture files, but I cant find them, where are they?
  23. This was finally what worked for me. Using this mod along w/ following the instructions of wearing a Powder Ganger outfit is allowing me to enter the correction facility without being attacked.
