  2. The answers are: 5,10,14,19,22,28,32,40,44,47,48,54, 59, and 64. Does this help? The ridiculously overpowered weapons and armor are all definitely making fun of the cheat/god items that exist already. The "Of doom" remarks are digging into the fact there's far too much gloom in a lot of the game. The endless quest of opening doors made fun of some of the stupid Runescape quests I did. I'm under the impression that far too many creature mods keep going for the next "awesome" creature, which is fine, but they've forgotten how boring it can be at the start killing only rats, crabs , goblins and wolves. Adding more lower level creatures like kobolds, gnolls, gibberlings and the like will enhance the game the whole way through. Also, Yuan Ti's and Draconians would make excellent mid level creatures to add to the game with some of them making it into the "awesome" range through levelling. I've often wondered if creatures were allowed to "level up beyond their original design" through killing other creatures was possible. What I mean is that even in areas you've not visited or seen yet, creatures continue to fight one another(as long as they're different). Some mods conflict and do this like WarCry and MMM, and I don't see it as a conflict but natural progression. but people will say "But Shadow, if this occurs a lot, when you get there, there'll only be the one creature who survived!" . Wrong, the others respawn, duh. PErhaps creatures could have a specific roaming range. Anyway, I'm just rambling.
  3. Yes, this is good for teaching a method for dealing with corrupted saves, but has anyone determined just how saves get corrupted? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I'm right now at a point my saves are getting corrupted when I am near/in Fallen Rock Cave doing that part of the Fighters Guild Quest. I've backups, so no worry. But every time I go to save there boom...a corrupted save. The best way is for us to record/compile just when these occur and perhaps better heads than mine can figure out what's wrong and ways for us to prevent it. ALL saves are corrupted when I save near it. I even used the ~save command and it got corrupted. My saves before it? work fine, and I can save it. Funny thing...I'm playing with a LOT of mods and it's only in Vanilla Oblivion quests where I've had this trouble. I had these before I even knew there WERE Oblivion mods. I've had this before btw. Usually I'll just fiddle with all my saves after making a backup and delete all corrupted, autosaves, and quicksaves. By fiddling, I'll repair abomb, remove bloat,etc. And eventually it starts working again. Not so this time. I'm just not going to save near there. But that's at least 1 problem location we can mention. Oh, Brina Cross Inn is another. Saves got corrupted there too, until I went back later and redid the mages guild requirement again on a different day and no problems.

  5. I'm running 357 mods. 253 mods, 104 merged into the batched patch. I've since hooked back up Operation Optimization, it IS helping out. The mesh mistakes aren't it's fault. I had to uninstall Streamline 3.0 as it started causing problems even more. The thing is with both Streamlines is that if I sharply move the 'camera' up, it sticks and often crashes, if I sharply move it anywhere else it just sticks and streamsaves. Still, annoying as hell. Without it? No crashes or even coming close. Bye bye Streamline. Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.
  6. geez. I get confused with so many alike sounding mods...I meant Operation Optimization. Thing is, I've just uninstalled it as well. A lot of these 'fixer uppers' were designed for low end machines, and mine is not low end by any means. When I go through a mod I JUST DOWNLOADED and installed 100% correctly and there's a few missing meshes, something isn't right. I'd just downloaded the Haunted House quest mod, and there was a couple of walls missing at one point. geez.
  7. lol. for some reason I was wincing,expecting abuse not agreement. Yes, Streamline 3.1 seems too problematic to use. I'm going to go back and try Streamline 3.0. If I have the same problems, I'll just do without the series altogether.
  8. Last week, I put Streamline 3.1 into Oblivion. It would often do "streamsaves" which was apparently an attempt on it's part to fix something. It was supposed to help performance. Did it? nope. Instead it seemed to be causing far too many 'streamsaves' that would have course annoy my gameplaying experience. I seemed to be having 'sticky' animations far too damned often. This morning, I removed it. Haven't had one lick of trouble nor those pesky mini freezes. The reason I bring it up here in mod troubleshooting, is that Streamline is one of those recommended to improve performance, yet it doesn't do it's job and instead causes needless problems. I'm now leery about even going back to Streamline 3.0, as I'm now jaded at the whole mod. I rarely see any of us recommend Oblivion Optimization, and that mod DOES do it's job quietly and well.

  10. When you unzipped the file did you unzip ALL of the file or only the plugin? Did you move the meshes and textures and maybe sound folders that came with the downloads into your data folder too? If not, you need to.
  11. It wouldn't hurt if it was a medieval themed mafia. The Mafia is a crime organization, right? What the hell is the Thieves Guild? Don't think I'm judging. My wife had to point that out to me as I too was against it. If the organization didn't have modern weapons, I'm against all guns in Oblivion except middle ages types, then it would be fine. perhaps the mafia can be using the old protection racket against merchants and vendors..pay up or something bad'll happen to you. The thieves, muggers, bandits, etal might have to pay a portion of their illgotten gains just to operate. Bootlegging Skooma could be another aspect. I don't foresee a Falstead Act prohibiting alcohol in Oblivion however, so this might not work. IF mafia is a too modern sounding term, La Cosa Nostra would be a good alternative. Street gambling using dice or cards would be ok, as long as it isn't the modern versions of poker or craps. What goes clip-clop, clip-clop, bang, bang, clip-clop, clip-clop? An Amish driveby.

This is a must for those who just hate reading. 58) Never Ending Quest of opening doors- Inspired by various Runescape quests I've been through, this quest never ends. A dungeon filled with door after door all with promise of something great at the end. In the meantime, as you're opening the doors, you'll be randomly whisked away to do some meaningless favor for no apparent reason(also a pull on Runescape's random event overload). Your curiousity is peaked by the end of this endless quest...until you open a door into your prize...a portable door!. From this, you can then collect an item of no redeeming value for every NPC in existence ever created for Oblivion. Each item finish prompts you to have to go to the next NPC and so on. After final completion of this, sometime in 2020, you'll be Transported to the realm of infinite doors for the quest for the Ultimate Prize!!! A house filled with doors!!!...endless fun...Of course, each door is a portal to another meaningless fetch quest inspired of course by Runescape. :wallbash: 59) merchant/pioneer caravans. Inspired by the Louis L' Amour NON WESTERN book, The Walking Drum, this caravan, banded together for mutual protection, offers various merchants and entertainers that travel from one city to the other. Filled with carnival and circus like entertainment as well as bards, this caravan fights it's way through villain infested wilderness daily in the hopes of higher profit. Also, these caravans are also centers for great intellectual advancement between provinces as it carries ideas forward. Quests can abound from such an entity, as well as mutual protection for your own forays. You can hire yourself out for a cut of the profits as either a merchant or guard or both. As it travels, it marches to the rhythmic beating of a drum.   15. That's why I specified 'what works for you". Not everyone's tastes are the same. I don't expect everyone to follow a formulated order, but to have a good idea of what load orders should look like. I know I borrowed quite a bit of mod info off of other's posted Load orders. I'd see it and go "I wonder what that does?" All the load orders were unintentional, meaning they weren't there to serve as an example, but for others to try and find faults with them. Also, my load order reflects a wierd tendency to find as many bashed patch mergeables as possible. THere's 103 in mine so far. It's sort of a project I'm doing for myself, to see just how far I can go with it. I know there's noone else who has compiled a list of all the mergeables. I've even thought about creating packages of them for others to DL, but I'll have to reapply for membership here again when I've the extra money. Mine also has another wierd tendency. I experiment to see if the mods do just what they're supposed to. For instance, I recently changed "more books teach" to "The_Student_Mod". Why? More books teach seldom wants to work, a fact I should have recalled from months ago. I'm now trying the other out to see if it's more reliable. I've also entered a sort of agreement with Random007 to try and find all those "unknown" mods not included in the FCOM helper f_order_list. How can 1 man keep up with all these mods when there is probably over 18, 000 in existence?

The best way to get a list is to use Wrye Bash's List mods function by rightclicking 'file" at the top, then selecting list mods. There are others I'm sure, but this is the easiest I've found. Also using FCOM helper to put everything in the correct load order firsthand you'll have a good list to follow. What it does: This will be a beacon saying "Here be working load orders". I know none are 'perfect' but post what works for you. This thread will also serve as a resource of what I'm trying to help Random007 do in compiling more up to date load orders. A new player or slightly experienced one can have a place to go. Don't bother: Posting the FCOM expanded load order or basic load order lists from that site. This is to put in complete load orders, not those only dealing with FCOM. For instance: It says put 'quests' here...what quests? Which ones? Some, depending on just what you're trying to implement, ask for instructions as you're going through it. Tell me what the downloads is/are. If it's an exe, it can't be anything but Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, Francesco's, Oblivion patch, SI patch, Unofficial Oblivion patch, Unofficial SI patch, Immersive Interface, BTmod...those are the ones I can think of off the top of my sleepy head.

The bards hang out at busy intersections singing songs of Oblivion and Morrowind lore. The Town Criers rush from town to town spreading the latest news, of which the player's latest exploits are often repeated. Also, coaches and wagons are now part of the landscape. Highwaymen will actually have people to ply their trade on. This would be fun for thief characters to play at for a while..stickup artists. 55- New class: Mime- Now you can bring these living annoyances into the game. Go from town to town getting booed and ridiculed! do the 'climbing a rope' til someone throws something at you. Once again, 1 out of the 5 is a REAL idea. See if you can guess which one.

Everything in it is purple...no more will you have to worry about the dreaded missing mesh or texture turning a bridge or rock or the whole ground purple...Now the whole thing is purple...mesh mistakes will cause items to have different colors. 50- Even more realistic sewers...I, for one, always wonder why human waste doesn't rain down from above while under a grate from overhead. Now, this will make sewers more realistic!!! Sludge Monsters could result as a mutation!!!...don't ask me what it drops when dead. As everyone who has read my silly suggestions knows, I put one good idea in every five. Can you guess which one it is?
