  1. 41) A Brett Favre Daedric Shrine!! wait a minute? This has already been done? yes, it has. Complete with nords with cheeseheads worshipping it. (As a fellow alumni of the same UNiversity, Southern Mississippi, and only living about 15 miles away from him, you'd think I'd be more tolerant, but this mod is ridiculous) 42) Oblivion Redneck Rampage! yes, with shotguns!! Eat pork rinds and blow the hell out of whatever is rustling in the bushes!!! yeeeeeeehhhhhhhaaaaawwww! 43) A Smurfs Race- 3 apples high!! Get points for the smurf stomping minigame!!! Take their mushrooms with them inside it and make bluer potions!!! 44) A gothic horror quest/city- Run from Jack the Ripper and his evil minions. Uncover the mystery behind WHO HE IS!!!, Take On MISTER HYDE!! Walk the dreaded streets of London being wary of cutpurses, thieves, and bandits. Fight the Undead inside the Tower of London and uncover an ancient mystery!! What about those vampires inside Big Ben? 45) Enjoy the life of a peasant race! Get up in the morning, milk the cow, feed the chickens and mule, then trot out to the farm for hours of backbreaking labor, eat basic food all the live long day, then watch as the local lord takes most of it!! then go to sleep and and wake up to do it all over again. The thrills never end. As everyone who has read my silly suggestions knows, I put one good idea in every five. Can you guess which one it is?
  2. Instead of Deadly Reflex, use locational Damage for the vid. It's far less buggy(read all the posts about problems with DR). Also, consider Oblivion WarCry and Bobs Armory Oblivion. For some odd reason there's no download of these great mods on Nexus(the #1 mod site bar none ...and no, I'm definitely not kissing up) or even a mirror to them. These are great mods. Francesco's, OOO, and MMM are all essential but I suspect they've been mentioned. Same with Natural Environments. Throwing in some of the great quests and companion/quest mods would also be a good idea(Sentient weapon, Lost Spires, etc.)
  3. 36) Scooby Doo mystery Guild- Complete with talking mutt! Now everything you do can be blamed on pesky kids! 37) Sword of Infinitely Charged +300 Fireballs with an attack of 1000 hp each swing!!! Make the game as boring as watching paint dry!! Think of the reaction of NPC's in town when they see you with this!!! They might even utter the magic words "Wow, look at the cheated muscles on you!" 38) Sarcasm guild- to teach lessons for those of you who have taken my silly suggestions seriously. Comes with a book explaining sarcasm, a staff of sarcasm, and a sword of infinite sarcasm. 39) Accountant Roleplaying kit-I'm tired of living a life of excitement. I want to play an accountant! I want a ledger of calculation made right now!! I want to be in charge of taxes!!! I want a Pencil Of infinite Corrections!! 40) Fruits and vegetables added(forgive me if they already have and I just haven't seen them yet) 1-plums 2-grapefruit 3-cocoa beans(mmmm...chocolate) 4-Peas(earliest known vegetable, comes in many types) 5-Lemons 6-Limes 7-coffee beans 8-Baked Beans(this would make my joke idea, flatulance, a reality) 9-Squash 10-Soybeans 11-Cucumbers, with pickles resulting 12-A cooking skill added(why the hell not with all we already have in the game?) Mastery gets you ability to make rare dishes worth a pretty penny 13-Cotton(to be woven into Tailor skill and making your own clothing) 14-Calquat(can be used as containers) 15-Tangerines 16-nectarines 17-Dewmelons 18-Canteloupes 19-Celery(eewwww..gross) 20-broccoli(again...ewww..gross) 21-Spinach(guh, guh, guh, what kind of name is Olive Oyl, sounds like some kind of lubrikink) 22-Silkworms for making ...silk to go with tailor skill. Feed them different leaves to get different colors As everyone who has read my silly suggestions knows, I put one good idea in every five. Can you guess which one it is?
  4. I don't know for sure, but it looks like either the Nightshade or the Dreadweave armor. I'm not much on knowing armor but both of those were so good I had to download them.
  5. I'm wanting to get my Martigen's Monster Mod from version 3.0 to 3.6beta2. I have lousy dialup with extremely poor bandwidth. I have 3.0 and also 3.6beta2's 36mb download. What I need to know/find is what I need 'in between' to have the full thing. I'm wanting to hook up the "big 4" with FCOM, but I'm only lacking the 3.6 to do it. I have the full Francesco's..including the bsa files(friend downloaded this monster for me) I have the OOO 1.3(plus the upgrade 1.34) same friend I have the latest FCOM Convergence. I have the latest Oblivion WarCryev + patch. The only wrench in the works is MMM. I've tried going through the info to see just what I needed, but am at a loss. Can someone tell me what I need to get? links included? Or should I just condemn my computer to DL for a day or more and get the whole thing? I may be wrong, but I "think" by going through the whole mess that I need to convert 3.0 to 3.53, then use the 3.5 then take all of that and incorporate into 3.6. If that's the case, I'm already downloading the right things. Thanks for any help I can get. ***Update. I figured it out and it works fine. Got my MMM fully upgraded now. Now for figuring out what to do about the missing 'rock' meshes. they're only small ones and not very common, and were there before I upgraded. I think I just missed pulling over a mesh somewhere. Has anyone ever thought about just having a mesh site for downloading particular ones?
  6. 31- Village idiots- Yes, drooling fools speaking nonsense constantly. worse, they seem to know you and who you are. Endless embarrassment. 32- More creatures from lore and beyond: 1-Gnolls 2-sharks 3-barricuda 4-githyanki 5-mriswith(from sword of truth) 6-draconians(from Dragonlance) 7-Trollocs(from Wheel of Time) 8-Myriddal(Eyeless, halfmen, from Wheel of Time) 9-jack O Lantern plant attackers(From Medieval for PS1) 10-Rust Monsters 11-Jackleweres 12-wererats 13-basilisks 14-bugbears 15-cockatrice 16-chimera 17-harpies 18-hobgoblins 19-hippogriffs 20-kobolds 21-manticore 22-mummy 23-shadows 24-Hags(no, not Madonna) 25-Giant ants and other insects 26-Sahuagin 27-Mandragora 28-Ankou 29-Mind flayers 30-Behemoths 31-dust devils 32-giant scorpions 33-Eaters of the Dead(were actually a surviving band of neanderthals in the book) 34-Terrorbirds 33) Winos- Very realistic beggars...complete with urine stained pants and a bottle of ripple 34) Leisure suits and gaudy gold jewelry on a hairy chest!...relive those golden days of the 70's...actually not golden, more bronze...hell, pewter. 35) Realistic...um....droppings. All those horses and animals have got to be leaving spore around? "Ew, he stepped in it!"
  7. 26- adoring fan massive spawns! Having only ONE fan just isn't enough! We need a mod that gives you hundreds...Nay, Thousands!! of adoring fans...all speaking out of sync! Just imagine the thrill of thousands of By Azura's...all sounding different! 27- Super powerful, anti everything armor! yes, you can simply stroll all over the world killing everything in your path without even having to go through the laborous process of thinking! 28- A sect of dark paladins. This sect, worshipping evil gods, serve as the antithesis of all that is good, BUT they have a legitimate ordered sect. Sort of Lawful Evil. The armor could be like Dragonlance's Dark Paladins of Takhisis, with a skull and lily(I'd prefer the Nightshade instead of lily) as their symbol. 29- Sword of no effort- You simply sit yourself down anywhere in Oblivion and tell the sword to slay whatever you desire and bring you back the loot! No longer do you have to bother moving at all! 30- Boots of butt kicking. Once you don this apparel, you cannot control yourself! suddenly whenever you encounter something, whether a harmless NPC or monster, you kick. Of course, you'll never complete a quest and the animation will give you motion sickness, but who cares since you're now supreme butt kicker! *anyone want to guess which one is a real suggestion?
  8. Hi. I don't know if I'm reporting a 'bug' or just a mod that wouldn't work with my mod list, but I had a problem with crashing on level up. I'd sleep, pick the 3 attributes I wanted to level then hit exit...and crash. I traced the problem to a dungeon mod, BD&R Deepgrave. I don't know how it did it, but it's the culprit. This is the explanation of the mod in the nexus: You should turn off your music and bring a torch or light spell for this one... refrain from Night eye This mod is a Thriller mod that takes place in a long abandoned prison in the Shivering Isles unused by the mad god and only by ignorant heretics... Explore its secrets and find out why it was abandoned Extract to your Oblivion Archive and use what ever mod manager you use to enable... THIS MOD REQUIRES SI Deepgrave is located ironically near shallow grave... check you map... How could this mod have caused level up problems? Granted the magic words "shivering isles" conjures up a host of problems. It's for better heads than mine to figure out.
  9. A lot of games possess bad language filters, most of which are too extreme. Runescape's is among the worst. For instance, there's almost no way to type the word assassin..because the word contains 2 bad words inside it. Yohoho Puzzle Pirates uses something different. Instead of xing out the bad words, it changes them. OMG becomes "billions of blue blistering barnacles". That's just one example of many.
  10. That makes two of us at least. I'm also 37 til December 13. Wow at the number of 40+! 40%?
  11. 21- A Crash to desktop utility- For those who get off on self abuse...this appeals to the masochist 22- A swordbreaker- An off hand weapon that is jagged with deep notches for catching an opponent's sword, sometimes, if timed just right, a deft twist of the wrist can break the sword if it's caught inside it. Yes, this sword really did exist in history. 23- the Spanish Inquisition!!!(dramatic music), NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!!" 24- REgular church services- for those who need a cure for insomnia(an anonymous possum, et tu brute, my carburator breakadowna) 25- Barney, the Malevolent Dinosaur....I can't wait to slay this over and over and over again. I apologize for the earlier brief 'bump'. It wasn't intentional. I was about to type 5 more into it but my wife came home and I had to go. I thought I'd have time to fill it in later.
  12. Surely there are other ideas for silliness out there.... 16- Potato guns...I recently saw a woman on TV show how to load and fire one. 17- Rock, paper, and Scissors games with NPC's....to the death!!! 18- Cities and towns filled with advertising...what city or town is complete without outlandish signs selling junk? "Buy Adidas Armor", "Buy Reebok steel boots", "buy your alchemy ingredients at Wal-Greens!"(seriously, I'd stop playing if this occured.) 19- Rune Armor- Midnight Blue with a touch of bulkiness in it's weight, but it'd be better than Daedric by a hair...You'd have to decide if the weight was worth it. 20- Silly Putty Swords...Why would you need to stab someone with it when you can use it to press comic strips into it?
  13. "Burn, baby, burn! Disco Inferno!!" *Shakes hip and points arm skyward with finger extended* As to the Rickroll, Which mod puts Rhino the Mad in the Imperial City market? Hilarious at times. I've seen him play "baby, don't hurt me" and "banana phone" and 'bohemian rhapsody" among several expressions. 11- Sesame Street monsters- beware the evil Gonzo! Kermit the Slasher Frog! Fozzy the Feral Bear(wokka, wokka, wokka), Piggy the Putrid, Bert and Ernie the Evil two headed ogre thing!! Big Bird and his peck of doom! 12- Hippies! Every time you go to slay a monster, a member of Greenpeace fights you..."hey, man, like monsters are part of NATURE, man. " Of course their fighting techniques consist of smoking pot and trying to get a concert together. 13- Saturday Night of the living dead fever! a quest mod. Tons of zombified John Travoltas invade! Will you slay this evil or succumb to boogie fever! 14- plant oriented monsters like Demonic jack O' Lanterns, Swamp sludge, The Headless Horseman, Gnolls, Ankou(evil female undead of Celtic lore), Mindflayers, Sahaugin(water race of monsters), sharks?, Draconians(lizard men unique to Dragonlance), 15- Monty Python's dead parrot sketch conversation with a shopkeeper. "he's bleeding demised! He's shuffled off this mortal coil, thrown down the curtain, and joined the bleeding choir invisible! he's an EX-parrot!"
  14. 6- Evil grass- the 'root' of all evil. Each blade of grass in the entire game attacks. 7- pigeons -what city is complete without these rats with wings? Least we'll have yet another reason for our characters to take a bath. 8- flatulance- Ever think the world of Oblivion is just too.....ordered? 9- rednecked merchants- How ya'll doin'? wouldja like to getcha some armor? 10- slings, with rocks for bullets(in case you don't realize, every one of these groups of 5 'silly' suggestions is going to have one that actually makes sense.
  15. yeah, something like that. What I'd really want would be too vast an undertaking for anyone to attempt. Divide up the continent into areas, each controlled by a different lord. I'm afraid what I'd end up wanting would be tactical strategy, my other passion. But I'd like to keep Oblivion an RPG...I've plenty of sources for strategy.
  16. Hi, I don't want to report a bug perse, but perhaps would like to identify if anyone has had this bug before. i'll provide a list of the mods I'm using, and perhaps that'll narrow it down. The bugs include: 1- a place called 'poop' near the anvil docks..actually on the anvil docks. 2- an overheard conversation between NPC's where one was clearly responding with Chewbacca dialogue. This too, occurred in Anvil 3- sometimes the text menu doesn't say what the person said..it'll say things like "let's go grab some beerz" or 'hick' and several others *****Edit Turns out the culprit was a quest mod called "The Pilgrim's Path". Guess it flagged itself as the problem when a repeating "Follow the path of the pilgrims blah, blah, blah" kept popping up every minute on the screen. I removed it from the list and none of these problems have reappeared.
  17. I thought as much. Problem is..do people want it? Would it risk filling up areas where creatures spawn?
  18. Sometimes, I can't help it. I'll be in the game, playing, and all of a sudden I'll think of something really silly for a mod suggestion. It's especially rough when it seems too serious. Anyway, what I'd like is people to post the strangest/oddest ideas they can come up with here. Who knows? maybe a modder will give a crack at it. 1- Enchanted Codpiece. This, when all your weapons break, can be removed from your...uh...cod and used as a flail. As a codpiece, it can be enchanted. "Glowing codpiece of DOOOMMMM!!" 2- working toilets. I've yet to see a RPG with this...could be a first. 3- New Spell. Flaming Cheeks of doom...you bend over...well, you get the idea. 4- non traditional roles for characters...how many times have you seen a 'dark warrior with a mysterious past?"..doesn't this and the rest get old after a while? How about: An elf who's secret wish is to be a lumberjack A cleric/knight with Tourette's syndrome...can you imagine prayer with them? A necromancer who faints at the sight of blood A bard who stutters A druid taxidermist 5- peasants...well, the world looks empty without them. The wolves would have something to drag off. These are just a few off the top of my head. Feel free to post your own. Now over 50 or more silly suggestions throughout the thread...each group of 5 contains one real idea..see if you can guess which one is the real one?
  19. TesNexus is THE best site for finding mods. There is no other even close. I've no trouble finding any mods I want, but I've wondered why some mods aren't on TesNexus yet. Some are almost considered 'essential' . Why isn't these mods here: Oblivion Warcry Waalx's Real Swords Bob's Armory I understand in the case of Warcry that it's too big for the servers to handle, but at least a description and a "go to here" link would be nice. Is it because the modders of these haven't put them on Nexus yet? Or is it just an oversight?
  20. I've downloaded hundreds of mods but this is the first time I've encountered this problem. Tears of the Fiend SI version comes in 7 zip but won't extract or work at all. I read and found that having the Legacy or The Butcher in your data files will mess this up, so I moved them. It still won't work. Any suggestions?
  21. My two gaming passions are RPG's and strategy, specifically Turn based. My eyesight just isn't good enough for RTS. Turn Based strategy hasn't gotten much attention over the years except in handheld consoles. However, many, many great games have come about on PC or console. Final Fantasy Tactics, Panzer General, Battle for Wesnoth(a free online game where new campaigns/quests are created by players), the Shining Force series, the excellent Tactics Ogre or Ogre Battle series, and many others are to be discussed in this forum. Feel free to mention any that have given you joy as I may go try to find a ROM or copy of it myself.
  22. Thanks for the advice. But what about: Also having a pinned list of just what mods have given trouble? Perhaps this list could be checked by those in charge with good computers before being posted on the list for good? Not only would this help troubleshoot what mods 'may' be causing your current problems, but show what mods need work for those looking to help. I've been going through the mods for a week now, just haven't posted much in the forums. I've noticed quite a few, due to my age and experience with bad downloads, that just SCREAM "I'll cause problems!" or "This will stink!" or "What use is this anyways, so don't bother dling me". But some look great and make even me want to ignore common sense before downloading. By great, I mean mods that fix/change something I wondered about while I was playing before I even thought to dl any mods. Another possible failsafe for players to use before beginning their downloads for the day is to make a system restore point on your computer so that you can return here if the day's mod downloads result in trouble. Hope I can help.
