There is an 2 years old discussion with same topic on fo76 subreddit. Seems like you can use the mods on steam version of the game just the same way.

I've read this request multiple times already and every time there is one guy (this time it's me ^^) who says the most obvious thing: Mute the ingame radio, open up your favorite music player in background and let the music play, while you're ingame ;) You're free to choose your playlist every time you play with minimal effort.

As far as i remember you can simply go into settings -> controls and just delete the key/wheel binding. Alternatively you can just bind the favorites menu to some key you don't use, like numpad or whatever ...
