  1. I'm pretty sure you can craft draugr armor at the skyforge. No need for a mod.
  2. (I'm assuming you have Windows here) Click the start button at the bottom left of your screen. If there's a search box at the bottom, type cmd and hit enter. This is the command prompt. If there is no search box, click on "Run..." Type in cmd and you should get the command prompt. Now if you're familiar with moving around in DOS, you can go navigate to where your hkxcmd.exe file is and run it from there. If not, here's an example: Let's say you put hkxcmd.exe in c:\hkxcmd\ and you extracted the skyrim - animations.bsa into c:\skyrim\skyrim - animations\ You'll get into the c:\hkxcmd directory by typing: cd c:\hkxcmd From here your prompt should look like C:\hkxcmd\> One of the things hkxcmd does is covert hkx files into a different kind of hkx file. To do this, type: hkxcmd convert "c:\skyrim\skyrim - animations" I think this corresponds with #3 in the hkxcmd readme, but I'm not sure because I'm not at home right now.
  3. You have to run hkxcmd from the command prompt.
  4. I've successfully exported the 3rd-person animations to kfs, but for whatever reason I can't get hkxcmd to do it for the 1st-person ones. Any guess why it isn't working for me?
  5. Less sexual female armor: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3296 It's kind of a quick conversion. I will probably be doing my own conversion sometime, but don't wait up on me cause I go at my own (slow) pace.
  6. Kudos for linking this. Made a notable difference in my laggy areas.
  7. It's not just you. People have been complaining about the game since day one, albeit with more colorful language and more caps. You gotta step it up!
  8. A 3d map of Skyrim would be cool if we could view it outside of the game. Especially if you could annotate it with useful info (places, quest givers, item locations, nirnroot, etc) It might also be helpful to keep track of what mods that modify the worldspace. Could you also do this for areas outside of Skyrim?
  9. I found this regarding multiple weapons in 3rd person: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/466826-display-multiple-inventory-weapons-on-player-character/page__pid__3844383
  10. There are people on the nexus who I respect more than others, and I think it would be very helpful to see a combined list of the files that they have endorsed. Extra points if the list can be sorted by the number of times these users have endorsed the files. I wouldn't mind making a special list of users for this purpose, but as a starting point, it might be easy to draw files from friends, users I've given kudos to, or users whose files I've endorsed before.
  11. Well first you have to set your desired items as favorites. Open your menu and highlight each thing you want to hotkey and then press F. Then, exit your menu and open your favorites by pressing Q. From here, highlight the thing you want to hotkey and then press a hotkey. So for example, if you have a sword in your favorites and you want to set it to number 1, put your cursor over the sword and press number 1. Also, I agree that it would be cool to show all your weapons showing on your body.
  12. I took a quick shot at making a friendly-fire mod a while back: BFF4L. I made it sorta jokingly, but apparently some people found it useful. I also made Smarter Ally Combat Positioning. It's in an even more unfinished state than BFF4L, but it may also be useful to you.
  13. Have you hotkeyed your favorites? It's a bit unintutive but after I figured it out I don't find myself opening my menu much anymore. I would like to have more than 8 hotkeys though.
  14. I had opening sequence problems when I messed with my ini. Have you made sure to delete your inis and such in your documents\my games\ folder? They might not have been deleted when you uninstalled.
  15. I'm thinking about making a no-combat character, but who will help his follower in every other way possible - craft armor/weapons, buy gear, enchant, make potions, heal, etc. I don't really want to use any magic except maybe restoration. Anybody try this sort of character yet? Any tips or pitfalls to avoid? One thing I'm kinda concered about is potions. Do followers use potions when appropriate at all?
  16. I am male. When I play RPGs that allow me to make different characters, I always make a mix of male and female. I just like the variety. There are a few other minor things I appreciate, like when an NPC's behavior changes depending on whether my character is male or female, or when a game DOES NOT give females a skimpier version of a piece of armor, etc.
  17. I've been kinda out of the loop, but this thread on Bethsoft's New Vegas forum was the latest I have seen on multiplayer. Apparently there was some multiplayer capability that Obsidian didn't develop, but a few people reported some success and posted videos on that thread. I have no idea whether or not Skyrim can be modded in a similar manner.
  18. Just wanted to chime in. I agree that "Beth messed up our elves" if you mean that they changed them from Oblivion. But I do like the new elves. I think the "alien look" reinforces the fact the elves aren't just humans with pointy ears, but rather they are different creatures with their own histories, cultures, etc. (I didn't read the entire thread. Sorry if my point of view does not contribute anything useful.)
  19. Well if it's like Oblivion, the 20 damage on the weapon is how much damage your character would do, not the base damage of the weapon. Crank up your two-hand skill, and you'll see that the damage on the weapon will be higher. I'm not sure if there's an in-game way to get the base damage. You could look it up in the Creation Kit when it comes out, or maybe FO3Edit might show it. OBSE had the GetAttackDamage function, but I'm not sure if Skyrim has it. EDIT: Also, I don't know how the armor rating works in this game. Sorry for kinda offtopic there.
  20. Blocking while dual-wielding sounds like a good idea, and I don't know why they don't have it in the first place. I don't know what we can do with the construction set so I can't say whether or not we'll see this any time soon. It might be easy to fix, or it might need some kind of complicated workaround, might require a script extender, might need new animations, or any number of other things. Certainly I'll TRY to mod dual-wield blocking into the game when I get it.
  21. I know at least two flashlight mods, Flashlight NV and Flashlight NVSE. Flashlight NVSE is fancier, but requires NVSE.
  22. FYI, I got this message when I went to upload a readme to one of my files, and I also got the message after I uploaded the readme. As far as I can tell, my readme uploaded without any problems. Any idea what's causing this message?
  23. Says the man with a girls butt for an avatar. :D There's not enough evidence to prove that it's a girl. :)
  24. If we really must have this fixed width, I would like to see download/view counts, "More from uploader" box, and "Admin" box moved to the top so that the file's description can use the full width.
