  1. Did anyone else get seriously depressed after watching this? Gotta milk that cash cow!
  2. Guys, this is Bethesda we're talking about here. The DLC is going to be something stupid like horse armor. Its the expansions that take us to new places.
  3. *sees EA logo* Nope, not touching this turd with a 10 foot pole.
  4. Honestly? No. The 1.3 patch doesn't actually fix anything over the 1.1 patch. 1.3s entire existence was to fix what 1.2 broke. If you're still running 1.1, don't bother. You can if you want, but some people have been reporting stuttering and frame rate issues with the 1.3 patch. I say, if its not broken, don't fix it. Honestly, until they start coming out with patches that actually start fixing broken quests and improving the general game play, I'm sticking with the "unpatched" 1.1 so I don't have to deal with Steam's bulls***.
  5. That would require effort. Bethesda doesn't do anything that requires effort. Besides, Bethesda would just find a way to screw it up somehow. Better to let the modding community clean up their mess. Things will actually work correctly that way.
  6. And all publishers noticed the incredible number of sales Skyrim got so expect more of the same from everyone. Skyrim is now the new CoD in terms of sales and quality.
  7. Quote not taken from a specific person, but I am noticing this is a reoccurring statement from a lot of people. I just wanna throw in my 2 cents in here. I know its going to be a rather unpopular 2 cents, but I feel rather strongly about this. Skyrim is shallow as hell. Don't get me wrong, I did have fun playing it, but the entire game boiled down to, "Go fetch this and/or go kill that." The ONLY part of the game I actually said, "Oh, wow this is cool." is the Siege of Whiterun, but at the same time I realized it wasn't as cool as it could have been is because there were only ever 3 enemy NPCs on the screen at any given time. I realize that was the case because of resources, but honestly they should have instancized that part so they could have added more. Skyrim had way less spells than any of its predecessors. Large chunks of the game just felt unfinished or missing. Puzzles were so simple that a trained monkey could do them. Literally. The answers were right there on the wall above the switch. All of the quest chains were incredibly short, very simple, and ended very abruptly. *Psijic guy warps in* Oh hey thanks for doing that thing for us that we totally could have handled ourselves. BTW you're Archmage now and we'll be taking this. *warps out* *Me standing there looking confused* All the quest lines pretty much ended like that. The game world is actually smaller than that of Morrowinds world, WITHOUT the expansions. All of the dungeons were linear hallways were you could only go one way. No branching off or finding alternate paths or methods to complete them. I will say the game was big, but certainly not "deep". /flame on! EDIT: Oh, and the UI. Horrible, HORRIBLE travesty that is the UI.
  8. I know its already been said, but it honestly cannot be said enough. This is why I'm still running the "unpatched" 1.1. 1.2 broke way more than it fixed (did it actually fix anything?) 1.3 was only made to fix what 1.2 broke. 1.3 still ended up breaking a few things. There is absolutely no reason what so ever to upgrade to 1.3 if you're still running 1.1.
  9. Yeah I can tell you don't have any idea what you're talking about. A PC that can run all games on the market currently at MAXIMUM SETTINGS with processing power to spare will set you back, AT MOST, $700, and that includes the cost of the monitor. XBox and PS3 both cost at least that much when they first came out, and both companies were selling them at a loss knowing they'd make their money back through selling games. The only PCs that will cost $1500 are shitty Alienware computers. If you buy one of those you deserve to have your money flushed down the toilet.
  10. 1.3 is not exactly stable. I was crashing a lot even with the 4gb work around, so I reverted back to 1.1. I'm not patching again until they get a stable fix going. I'm tired of this yoyo crap. Game is up and running, oops no its not, now its running again, oh s*** it crashed, etc.
  11. It adds a damage over time effect to things you hit with your axe. I remember reading that the effect stacks with itself, meaning that if you hit something multiple times the bleed effect will last longer or do more damage. I do not remember the specifics on that though.
  12. I did something similar but used a 2-handed sword. More of a crusader than a paladin but was still very paladiny. Unfortunately, I saw no point in going past Adept Restoration and the Turn Undead series of spells were honestly more trouble than they were worth. Killing Draugr became a serious chore so I stopped using that spell, though it is rather hilarious hitting vampires with that spell. I never needed elemental protection. I just enchanted my armor with resist magic to 60% and never had a problem with enemy mages after that. I'll eventually get Extra Enchant and start adding + magicka and restoration cost reduction along with the magic resist. I won't try to make restoration cost 0 magicka though as I try not to cheese the system. I find it makes the game way to easy that way. With smithing improved armor, Alteration is really not needed at all. In fact it would be a waste of perk points. Remember, armor caps at 567 (80% damage reduction), and its incredibly easy to achieve that with heavy armor WITHOUT using the potion/enchanting exploit. All in all I was pretty unstoppable once I got into Orcish armor while running around with a fire enchanted Dwarven Greatsword. For whatever reason, Orcish weapons are just bad. Worse than Elven weapons, which for some reason are better than Dwarven weapons, but because I ignored the light armor side of smithing, I couldn't make Elven weaponry. I purposefully held back getting into Orcish armor though because I didn't want to make it to easy. I waited until about level 30 before getting into Orcish and will probably wait until around 40ish before getting into ebony. I'm not even sure I'll even wear dragon or Daedric. I simply don't like they way they look. Daedric weapons I'll definitely make though. The bards, I completely forgot about that faction. What is that faction about anyway and what do they do?
  13. I've been here there before. I have no idea where it actually is. I lost Lydia one day. Ran from Whiterun to Windhelm with Lydia following me. When I got to WIndhelm I noticed Lydia wasn't following me any more. When I entered the city she didn't show up, so I did the moveto thing you mentioned and ended up in this room with Lydia. I think its a place the game moves "lost" NPCs too rather than delete them outright.
  14. So forced broken patches, not being able to patch to a previous version if you want, and offline mode not actually being offline (pull your ethernet cable out before going into offline mode and watch Steam throw a *censored* fit) is ok with you? Eh, to each their own.
  15. Wow, it actually kinda looks like him.
  16. I decided that on my next play through I'm going to do something I've never done before in an Elderscrolls game. Make a heavily armored warrior that focuses on 2 handed weapons. I honestly don't know why I've never played this kind of character in either Morrowind or Oblivion. Actually this character will be more like a Paladin I suppose, using Restoration to heal myself with as well as trying to utilize Turn Undead where applicable. I'll wear + magicka items and eventually move to magicka reduction items at some point so magicka won't really be an issue. I have no idea what a good amount of stamina is for a 2 hand user though. Since the stamina attribute also effects how much you can carry I'd like to know what most of you feel is a good amount to invest into stamina.
  17. This one: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2226#content Unfortunately, because upgraded items through smithing get a new base ID, it won't level up upgraded items. Simple way around that problem is to never upgrade an item until it has reached its maximum level.
  18. This build actually sounds quite interesting. I do have some questions for you though. Did you level blacksmithing at all or did you rely on bought/found armor? Did you take any perks on the shield bash side of the block tree? Have you considered maybe adding a little bit of destruction for the cloak spells? Am I to assume you rely on the magicka reduction cost enchants to cast the higher level spells? 200 magicka doesn't seem all that much, but you could always enchant your armor with +magicka as well. Did you ever utilize Bound Bow at all?
  19. That damn horse always follows me when I dismount. Normal horses will always wander off in a random direction when I dismount. Since horses don't actually give you any benefits (horse run speed is like 10% faster or something else ridiculously low) worth mentioning, but are a huge headache to manage, I stopped use them. I kill Shadowmere too every time it respawns. Can't even use the dumb things as pack mules.
  20. Yep, this video pretty accurately shows how I play Skyrim. Every now and then I'll save my game and just go nuts and kill every single person in town. I think I've killed the entire town of Whiterun at least 13 or 14 times now.
  21. I'm really hoping that there will be a mod once the CK comes out that diversifies necromancers from other mages by adding new spells or abilities. As it is right now a necromancer is no different from any other mage.
  22. LOL, really? About the Witcher, I really don't understand how or where they get those number of pirated copies downloaded statistics from. Especially when its only through torrents can you pirate a game of that size. Torrents do not give you any kind of statistics of how many completed copies are downloaded.
  23. Anything with a EULA attached to it like that is not worth your time using. Its like signing a damn contract just to let other people play your mods. Completely unnecessary.
  24. Has anyone come out with a mod that will level "leveled" items yet? I've looked but haven't found anything.
  25. In Morrowind, Khajiit monks talked about being disciples of the "Falling Sand" style. At least I think it was the Falling Sand style.
