  1. CTD occurs *only* when looting some corpses, occasionally when opening the map menu, and when browsing some vendors (especially the one added by staves of skyrim). The only mod change I made recently was switching from RLO to ELFX and changing a few settings. I also visited the college of winterhold for the first time. It seems the CTD only occurs when opening certain menus in certain situations (ei the loot menu, which is the biggest offender, and the map menu). Has anyone had a ctd like that before? What ended up being the problem?
  2. Hey hey hey. So I've played Skyrim for a few months now, with many different load orders, and they still don't work! What gives, guys?
  3. For some reason, skeletons in my game make no impact sound when hit by a weapon. They just make a sound when staggered. I thought for sure it was the improved combat sounds mod, so I removed it, but the problem was still there. Where should I look to fix this problem?
  4. I'm having an issue where light sources are not illuminating certain objects, mainly most grasses. This makes travelling through forests at night pretty difficult with CoT installed, because with the ambiance being so dark, the grass is just black. I noticed the same thing happens on the cloaks installed by cloaks of skyrim. Can anyone give me a pointer so I can solve the issue? It may have been discussed before but I did not find any solutions posted.
  5. Hey there, I'm on a quest to eliminate or diminish this longstanding graphical glitch, and I'd like some input from some ini gurus. I've had success with fsplitdistancemulti set at 1.5; 2 and above exacerbates the issue. However, I'm wondering if the fblock parameters will have any effect as well, I've been having some problems testing since raising those too high tends to give me infinite loading screens with my LOD mods. If anyone has had success with fixing this, please share your settings! I did some searching around, but wasn't able to find any concrete info on the issue.
  6. Realvision performance is as about as lightweight as ENBs get. Project ENB light is a little lighter I think but that's for use with CoT. It looks like you may already have some performance issues and the ENB is exacerbating the problem. Remember, adding an ENB is supposed to cut 10-20 FPS off minimum, so if you usually hover around 30-40, it's gonna make your game unplayable.
  7. I'm not sure if USKP enabled the dragon "taunt" voices for only the first dragon fight or if it added all of them, but needless to say it's the stupidest most immersion breaking thing I've ever seen, and I'd like to disable it. To clarify, these are the taunts that dragons say when they're flying around along the lines of "huurrr you are powerful Dovahkin, I will destroy you and I totally won't be dead in 30 seconds" and "my dialogue sure brings a mighty 'blizzard' haha get it?" I've already done some poking around the USKP esp with TesVedit to find out how they enabled the voiceovers for Mirmulnir, so that I might find out how to reverse it for all of them. I wasn't successful, so if someone more knowledgeable than me could chime in, that would be really awesome. Hopefully it's just an esp edit that could fix this and I won't have to crack open the BSAs.
  8. That's affirmative. Ended up with the same grey clippy appearance with vanilla.
  9. There's nothing in the meshes folder for dirtpath. I deleted the texture just to be sure it wasn't at fault, and sure enough it does the same thing with the vanilla one. Now, is it possible that there's a specular map or some weird thing that could be applied to that texture? Right now, there's just two files - the texture and the normal map. If there was something else that could go there, it could be in one of my BSAs and would be getting loaded because there's no equivalent file in the data folder, if you get my meaning. Or do ground textures typically only use those two files?
  10. Realvision Option A full with 0.200
  11. Alright, so it looks like the texture is in order. Nothing seems to be out of the ordinary with the file itself. It's making me think it might be some sort of AA issue. Do you think it could be my ENB that does this?
  12. Hi folks, I'm having an issue with a clashing texture on the road. I've reinstalled Skyrim HD 2k, whish SHOULD have fixed it, but obviously has not. What I need to know is the filename of the offending texture (the grey one), and, possibly even better, what mod it's from if you can recognize it. I'm betting that it's a junk normal map or something that's sitting somewhere in the data folder and needs to be deleted. And before someone asks, no I'm not deleting and reinstalling 10 gigs of textures because there's a line on the ground. Here's the pictures, with two separate examples of the texture, both around Falkreath. http://i.imgur.com/YVTOrUs.jpg http://i.imgur.com/sID84tQ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/vdHaMim.jpg http://i.imgur.com/07bSLuM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/TgTZ9ka.jpg http://i.imgur.com/SRwGlbW.jpg
  13. At the moment, there really is no solid way to tell when you're just ragdolling or whether you're actually dead. We need a mod to change that.
  14. Bumping, would love to have an answer.
  15. So, recently BOSS had a master list update, or NMM updated, or something happened, and suddenly the torches on the walls in Embershard mine (you know, the ones you can pick up) are there again. At least, I'm led to believe they're there in vanilla, someone tell me I'm not crazy. This is all great, but it exposed a problem I had never noticed before with the torches removed - when running down the corridor, torches will "pop in". From a distance, they have a fainter, more colorless light, like vanilla, but as you get closer, pop!, it gets brighter and more yellow. It's almost as if a lighting mod is overwriting the settings as I get close. I have RLO, CoT, using an ENB + lots of other mods. I've played around with disabling certain mods, tweaking ini settings (flicker distance didn't do anything), trying it with and without a torch equipped, etc. No luck so far. Disabling lighting mods is tricky, because with all the compatibility patches they are all dependent on each other, and when you turn them all off it just looks like vanilla. Has anyone had this problem before? and if not, does anyone know how to find that torch object in tes5 edit so I can see which mods edit it?
