  1. Going right to the basics now, checked video card drivers, and there's a new version. Gonna try installing that to see if this works.
  2. It also crashes the same way even without mods after the full reinstall. This might not be a modding problem. Running Steam's "Verify Integrity Of Game Cache".
  3. I don't know where I went wrong, but I cannot play Fallout 4 with mods after a 3 month hiatus. When I sat down to begin playing again, I first updated NMM and downloaded the current versions of all the mods I had active. Run Fallout 4, CTD on loading any saves, CTD on starting a new game. I did a full reinstall of Fallout 4, went online and downloaded LOOT, Wrye Bash, and FO4Edit. I did not reinstall NMM. Reactivate all the mods I wanted, ran LOOT, then Wrye Bash, then FO4Edit on advice from another forum. No joy, no changes at all. If anybody has some noteworthy advice to give, I'm all ears, because I'm about to scrap modding entirely and just play this vanilla.
  4. Hey folks, I've got a small issue that stumped me for most of last night. I spent so much time trying to figure it out that I finally got pissed off and uninstalled all my mods, NMM, then Skyrim itself (even cleaning out the data folder of all the garbage left behind) so that I can do a fresh clean install. Here's what happened. I had... NMM installed to manage my mods: RealVision ENB up and running (with all its dependencies). UNBP Bodies YY Anim Replacer - Mystic Knight (for battlemages, one-handed weapons and magic off-hand) TERA armors for UNP/UNBP Skyrim memory patch (makes the game utilize 4GB of my 16GB of RAM) BVFE - Better Vampire Fangs and Glowing Eyes (for Dawnguard) BVFE - Serana and Family (for the Dawnguard plot NPCs) BVFE - SMIM compatibility patch Enhanced Character Edit XP32's skeleton mod Realistic Ragdolls and Force Dance of Death - Killmove mod Female Face Animation PS - Any Female Body Changer (never worked) ApachiiSkyHair SMIM SKSE FNIS BOSS TES5 ...Miscellaneous patches for improving the item menus and dialogue control boxes. I did not have any of the USKPs installed. The Story: I leveled up to about 15 before left the Helgen Cave to make the game more challenging for me, and once I got to Whiterun I immediately dove into the Dawnguard quest line. Once I got Serana to Castle Volkihar, I chose to accept Harknen's offer to take his blood. Once I got through the tutorial, I saved and exited the game and activated BVFE for my character and the NPCs. When I loaded Skyrim back up, all the NPCs had the new eyes, but my character's eyes were stuck as Amber (eye color slider stuck all the way to the right). I tried unintalling the BVFE mods, and reinstalling them, but they never appeared in the plugin list. I'm still so new to this that I'm not sure the BVFE mods qualify as plugins, but the main point here is that Skyrim was behaving as if I hadn't installed that BVFE mod for my character. Any ideas on how I can prevent this as I rebuild my game files and mod list?
  5. First, let's tackle the problem with your Skyrim Launcher not finding anything. Provided you have a legit copy purchased through Steam... 1. Go to your Steam library, right click Skyrim, click properties. 2. Click the Local Files tab (3rd from the left) and click Verify Integrity of Game Cache. That will run for a while, let it finish. THEN Find out where you installed BOSS to, because there's an executable (.exe) that you have to run. Don't worry, it's automated. Just find the BOSS.exe, double-click and sit back. When it's done, it will open a browser page with a report. After you do all that, try running Skyrim again, let us know what happens.
  6. I had just gone to bed at 12:30am CST - I just missed the fun. :(
  7. I made a little headway, installed SG Female Textures Renewal and said Yes to the overwrites - No more neck seams, and my character's face isn't a lense flare anymore, but NPC faces are still dirty. Can't get the NPC vanilla face textures to go away.

  9. Hello again, I've gotten pretty far in my modding, but there's one issue that has me stumped... The player character's face sometimes gets brighter than the sun, and many NPCs have a noticeable texture seem on their necks. I've got several head/face mods running, not sure which one is causing it. The list of mods I have installed that could be causing the issue are... Calientes Female Body Mod Big Bottom Edition -CBBE- Beauty Faces for females - Beauty Faces by necKros 131 Enhanced Character Edit (ECE) Realistic Female Face Skin HD 1.0 Univision Face for CBBE BVFE - Better Vampire Fangs and Eyes (This one won't work until I have a vampire character, I doubt this would cause a problem) Is there a solution to this, or did I fall off the build order?
  10. Actually, after installing dozens of mods to spruce up the quality of the environment, I've discovered that some of the NPCs (most notably that one dude's sister at the beginning) have extremely dirty faces, and everybody except for old people have noticeable neck seams. Might create a new thread on this one - Will also start a new thread on it just in case. Please say you've got a solution to that one too...
  11. About to give that a shot. On that final part, do I have to do the bodymod with each armor set as my equipment changes, or can I do all of it at once?
  12. Hello, I'm new here. New to modding in general, actually. That's part of my predicament. Just know that moving forward. :) Spent almost six hours trying to figure out why my Skyrim game's vanilla armor sets don't respond to changes I make from CBBE. My Steam install directory is on a separate drive from my operating system, but the whole directory is still mostly the same except for the drive letter - It's D: drive instead of C: drive. I know that all of the CBBE mod config files need to be changed so that they read like this... <GameDataPath>D:\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\</GameDataPath> <MeshOutputPath>D:\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\</MeshOutputPath> ...But those strings look incomplete to me. Isn't it supposed to directly update the game's mesh files? If so, where are they and why don't the install instructions talk about this very important detail? Like I said, I edited all the config files to the best of my knowledge, but the mods are not working correctly. I like the added feature of being able to do edits to multiple files at once, but I'm only able to affect the naked character model and not the armor. The vanilla game has all of its DLCs and the HD graphics update. Here's what happens... I take the armor off, CBBE shapes are visible. Put the armor on, vanilla shape is back in effect. I'll admit, modding is unknown territory to me. I'm stumbling around in the dark here. For instance, I know I have to install the armor mod first, and then put the CBBE version in after it so that some files will be up-to-date, but I can't do that because the two mods each have a folder named "meshes" that the game references for its character models, and the armor mesh folder will get overwritten. I tried following some of the other instructions and manually extracted all the files where they needed to go, but it still won't work. I tried running it as Administrator, but that doesn't work either. I'm missing a crucial detail. I don't mean to nitpick at Caliente, since this mod is one of the better ones out there, but those instructions are not clear or concise enough for a modding newbie to enjoy the fruits of your labor. I'm a visual learner... I need to see what the installation actually looks like in a working configuration before I can understand what to do. Maybe make a youtube instruction video? Anyway, I'm stuck and frustrated. Could someone give me a hand with this? Thanks :D OS: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit Primary Drive: OCZ Vertex-3 SSD (OS installed on it) Secondary Drive: Toshiba 2 GB 7200 RPM (Games installed on it) Steam install directory: D:\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\ Video Card: GeForce GTX 550 ti (2GB) Processor: AMD FX-8150 RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB ...I originally posted this in the general discussion thread, but realized it needs to go here. I'm new, my bad.
