  1. ty guys. i found the dread knight weapon set you were refering too http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15494/? i got both the swords, i appreciate the help :) i wanted them because they just so dang beautiful
  2. if anyone is curious, the armor is Lord Melania armor
  3. lol.. i came her elooking for armor #2 :P its said to be Lord Melania armor
  4. pro tip : Paragraphs. break up the wall of text. it makes it very hard for people to read. other than that, it looks like this mod would be great if it could be combined with something like pocket empires. also, just remembered, fighting style of tamrial. they now have a mod that applys all the fighting stances to all the NPCs.
  5. i see, ty. ye, i just recently seen the amount of tutorials for the creation kit on youtube. been watching them the last few days. starting to realize just how much work it is to create a playable race. though, thankfully, there are alot of people who have tripped over that hurtle before so maby i wont be so befuddled.
  6. i plan to switch to a linux system, (prolly ubuntu or mint, many arch) as i dont like being spied on, for any reason. but i am a gamer, and while i state that i have most of my games on steam, my current 'big boy' is skyrim, and skyrim mods. both my computers run it fine with windows. hardware isnt an issue, but, as i dont know that much about software other then what i read an see, i wonder if anyone else has successfully gotten skyrim too run on a linux system with the new linux version of steam? also, i use MO, SKSE, FNIS, and the java patchers that come with some of the patches. basically, i want ted to see if someone managed it before i try it, and descend in to yet another circle of hell, as i only recently started useing MO.. and it still gives issues. also, i tried linux before, but after being forced through wine, and about 8 other programs, some that had to be run WITH wine, to make certain games work, id rather not go down that road again if it can be avoided...
  7. generally, for ANY kind of gameing on a laptop you want dedicated graphics, meaning it will have a small onboad card for minor things, and a separate, much larger card for gameing and such, description will mention a dedicated graphics card. and LadyMila's sugested laptop is a good one. though it should be noted that you will notice the speed of that processor.
  8. how much VRAM does your graphics card have? and have you been running these particular mods for a while? or have you changed 1 or 2? something else to check, in your graphics settings, you may want to check to see if your rendering distance is to high (meaning its rendering far away modles, and with more detail) aswell as if detail quality is too high. if you havent changed these settings recently, its a good place to look for any changes. also, if you deleted all the preferences, then you need to check these settings anyways. L3s7ing's advice on checking drivers is a good tip to. you want to check to be sure your drivers are up to date.
  9. just thought id post my rig here for reference sake, to give you another rig to compare to, though it is indeed substandard in some aspect by Leddbate's purposed specs, he is pretty accurate btw. http://pastebin.com/YUNGE4F1 ive only had issues so far out or shadows of mordor, its very heavy on Vram, i can play the game now, but not on ultra, it wont even play cut-scenes above medium setting lol the URLs are all to newegg.com which is a decent place to build custom or order addon/ replacement parts. as an added bonus newegg also does videos on alot of their products. people who are very computer hardware literate my find those videos to be very basic, but for the 'justaboveenduser-consumerknownothingaverageguy' they can be very useful in the fact that you actually get to SEE a product before you buy it. i have ordered from tigerdirect aswell in the past, but newegg is generally my main source.
  10. i can advise shopping on newegg.com many of their computer products come with a video shot by the newegg employees that explain details of the product in question. i bought everything for my $1,800 build their, though some people do not like newegg for w/e reason. as for your mods. they all download as compressed files, most will be zip files, you can transfer (copy paste) those just fine. also, if you have multiple sata ports on your new MB, just get an extra sata cord and connect your old hardrive to your computer after you install your OS. it will load up as a separate hardrive, makeing it a lot easier to transfer the files. this will work with both laptop and desktop hardrives. id recommend useing NMM or MO though, to download as a download manager is always preferable to browser. for instalation and or mod/ order handleing, use 1 or the other, and not both, they do the same thing completely different ways. NMM installs directly to the games data directory, and MO dose not, it creates a separate folder for the installed mods, then uses a text file to tell it which mods to load. also, generally, i start with a processor, i find the one i want, with the specs i want, within a price range i can afford, and then find my MB. i ussually go with a 3.0 CPU and a 6gs MB as a baseline. for the mother board, most ram you generally need is between 8g and 24g thats a min and a max, you dont often need more than 12g. once you find a nice mother board, this will determine what size case you can support, and what size graphics card you can use. i dont mean what port it fits, i mean its length. you have to have a big enough case for the graphics card, recommend starting int he mid towers and go up. other specs on a graphics card are virtual ram, a lot of newer games require more and more Vram. you will want 2 - 3g min, more if you can afford it. for RAM- DDR3 1600 is more than sufficent for what i do. once you have CPU, MB, GPU and case picked, then look for PSU - power supply. as you need the wattage values from the graphics card and the CPU to determine the minimum size PSU you need. prolly gonna start at 500w as you want to have power for the biggest components in your machine +20ish% for the smaller components as-well as breathing room., i also wouldn't use anything under bronze cert. another issue with graphics card is if it requires extra power cords, my MSI R9 comes with a 6pin and 8pin power ports, they both have to be plugged to the PSU or the card will not work. the PSU should have 6 and 8pin cords, but you will want to check to see if their are enough. small recommendation, keep your OS and related mic files on a separate hard-drive, usually smaller, then your game(s) on a separate hardrive. prolly a 100g - 200g for OS, and a 500g - 1t for games/ movies. 6gbs. i usually go with WD - western digital, they have a long solid history of good drives, but thats my preference. in general, design within budget, there are lot of good builds, but you usually want something slightly 'better' than what you need. you dont really want all your components to run at 100% capacity all the time. so you really want the breathing room at the CPU and the PSU. also essential for a gameing build is cooling. you can use the case fans that come with the case, or shop for your own, just make sure they have the same connector, or if not, get an adapter. other cooling options are a larger heat-sink/ CPU cooler. you want to minimize as much heat on the CPU as possible as too much heat will make your new system run like your old system, with the exception that it looks prettier and will cost more to replace when it dies. my Buildhttp://pastebin.com/YUNGE4F1
  11. um, from my limited moding experince i have with skyrim, i can advise looking for large overhauls that combine several aspects of the game, that would remove a few mods from your load order. most weapon mods can be combined for personal use. for specific types of overhauls and such, id look at any mod that creates or alters several armors or weapons. this would do away with the need or necessity of several smaller individual mods. the same can be said of animations. chances are, there are animation packs that will encompass most of the more common animations and gestures. sometimes, a game wide UI overhaull, will fix all of the menues in the game, or atleast make them more resonable, this would do away with several individual menu fixers. though all of these suggestions will be limited by your own personal preference to what types of mods you prefer to use, they are atleast a stepping stone as you do have a lot of mods. i personally use MO, with LOOT, WryBash, and TES5 Edit. dont know if those are compatible with fallout though also, add spoiler tags, it will make your post shorter and easier ont he eyes, or use pastbin.com you can past any text doc there and save it, it will be rendered with its own URL, and that URL can be posted here for a safe and unobtrusive way to view your doc.
  12. easiest workaround is to disable UAC while you are makeing changes, if thats whats causeing it. check and make sure that that file its trying to access actually exists. i do not actually play fallout, but that file location seems very odd. in your trace log it mentions that your game directory is in program files. this is unrelated to your current issue, but it is generally recommended that games you are modding be installed elsewhere to avoid instillation and update issues with mods. you can create a separate steam installation directory to put specific game in it, or simply move steam and all of its files (and games) to a new folder outside of program files. you can also take ownership of the appdata folder by adding system admin, or your user account to its security profile with full permissions. you do that by right clicking the appdatta folder, clicking properties, go to the security tab, and click edit permissions.
  13. fyi, ddr4 is unnecessary, you can use a higher end ddr3 for almost everything, and that will likely be alot cheaper. also, if your looking in to performance upgrades, you will also want to take a peak at cooling aswell, as over heating compents will make your computer sluggish, especially during performance critical operations such as gameing. if you havent looked in to cooling, i would recommend replacing factory fans with slight better designed fans for airflow builds, and at the very least a better CPU cooler/ heatsink. depending on how much cooling you need, they might get fairly expensive all together, but a hot system will nuke your experience no mater how nice the parts are.
  14. hail to the king :) we shall join forces, our cries can not go un-heard for ever, skyrim belongs to the nords, but the dragon kin shall rule the nexus!!! honestly though, RCOTS had sky child demon, that looked more like dragon kin than a demon really. im fairly certain an adult version of that race would work well for this as it had dragon skin, dragon wings, and dragon tail. im studying video tutorials for the creation kit. by no means am i a modder, but im ready for a functioning dragon race. may the best thread win lol. though maby their can be a few different dragon kin races, as there are several varieties of humans in skyrim.
