As I said in my first post: No mods, whatsoever. I'm aware that my papyrus log isn't a crash report, but I don't know how to read it, so I wasn't sure if there would be some clue there when I posted it that might help this be solved. --- In the meantime, I've started another whole new save, still with no mods, and the same exact location is still giving me this problem. Is there any other information that I can provide that might prove useful in helping me out?

I have, indeed, updated to the latest version, and the only .ini changes that have been made were the ones to turn on logging and these: fMagnetismStrafeHeadingMult=0.0 fMagnetismLookingMult=0.0 f1PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.0 f3PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.0 so that my arrows go where I'm aiming.

If any further information is needed in order to assist me, I'd be happy to provide it. Please just let me know.

Hello! I've done a clean installation of Skyrim on this computer. This computer has never had Skyrim installed on it before, at all, so there are no traces of previous installations or old saves or old mods. I installed the game with no DLCs and did not download a single mod. So, what we are dealing with here is JUST Skyrim. I started a new character, from the beginning, played for a bit until I was on my way to Whiterun. I get great performance with Skyrim using somewhat average settings; decent framerate, very few stutters, etc. Suddenly, though, when walking toward Whiterun after helping the Companions kill the giant, I get a crash to desktop, or CTD. I went and enabled my Papyrus logs, played through that part again (from a save just outside Riverwood), and crashed in nearly the same spot. This was my papyrus log at this point: I keep getting a crash here, but I am able to run around other areas near Whiterun and out in the large fields in front of it, I just cannot near the entrance. From what I've read, the LvlPredatorScript.psc should only be causing crashes if I've uninstalled a mod that affects creature AIs, but uninstalling a mod would require me to have installed a mod, any mod whatsoever, in the first place. Can anybody help me out a bit? Much love and thanks, in advance. <3

Sadly, the console command 'tdm' does not exist in Fallout 3. Perhaps you were thinking of a different game. I look forward to any further information anybody can give me.

I'm a cheater. Yup, I said it. I cheat in games. Not ever the first time through; I always play the vanilla game through at least once, and at least through the main quest, without modding or cheating. However, since I've played Fallout 3 before, back when I wasn't even aware of the modding community, I would like to make this play-through a bit less of a hassle. In Skyrim, I use the console command 'tim', which makes it so that my health does not drop to or below zero, and it offers NONE of the other cheats that come with god mode. For example, you still loose health and stamina, and you do not have the ability to run while over-encumbered. To my knowledge, though, Skyrim was the first Bethesda game to ever include such an option, and while I'm aware of the 'tgm' command in Fallout 3, this is not the course I want to take at the moment, since I love repairing, collecting ammo, and having a limit on my VATS points. God mode makes all of these infinite, which takes away more from the game than I want to. All I am looking for is a way to eliminate health as an issue for me, since I find it very un-immersive to die and have to reload a save. I've done plenty of searching and have only found suggestions to use 'tgm', which is not what I want, as said above. Does anybody have any recommendations for mods I could use to achieve ONLY infinite health (or something similar to the 'tim' command in Skyrim)?

I had unlocked every achievement through Steam with a single save-file, other than a couple minor ones, before this huge increase in frequency started up, and it was still playing relatively smoothly, so I don't think that being farther in the game would be an issue. This is also not an issue that's only with one save-game; it is present for me no matter what save file I load up, even if I start fresh; it usually crashes before I even have control of my character, if I do begin a new game, meaning that to begin a new file I have to try over and over until it gets me through. Before, I was able to play with the sliders floating somewhere around the middle; when these problems arose, I started to lower them gradually, until now where they are all completely as low as they can go. I'd love to be able to get back to where I was before, though, since making the game playable with all of the view distance set to as low as possible makes it somewhat unplayable and unfair (in cases such as getting shot by someone I can't even see yet).
-
So, does nobody know what might have changed to make this happen more? I'm still getting these crashes far more frequently than I did originally.
-
This hasn't actually solved my issue. Does anybody, at all, know what the change may have been that caused this, even if you don't know a solution? I got very minimal CTDs before 1.4, and after 1.4 I got them very frequently, and since then it's gotten continually worse with each patch. Nothing has changed about my computer, and I regularly run up-to-date virus and malware scans, as well as regularly defragmenting and clearing out unneeded files and my Internet cookies, history, and cache. If I was able to play fine before, I should be able to play fine now, and I'm dying to know the reason that I can't. Bethesda stated in an E-mail from their technical support department that, as of now, there is no way to roll back to a previous version. The technical support department has also, so far, been unable to help me.

I am aware that Vista uses far more memory than other operating systems, and I do close everything that I possibly can before launching Skyrim (I'd love to close Steam, but..). I wasn't aware of the option to 'Disable visual effects.', though I did just locate it and place a check in that box. It was where you said: in the properties of the .exe file. I will give the game another try with that option checked in a bit, but since I never had it checked before, I don't think that was what changed that suddenly made this so bad.
-
My video card is an nVidia GeForce 8600 GT, updated with the latest drivers and set up to alert me about new drivers becoming available, and I am running Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit. My biggest issue is that I was able to play FINE before; this is a completely new problem, and there's no reason I shouldn't be able to fix it without upgrading my hardware.
-
I never did use any .dll or.exe performance enhancers. And when I say that I removed the excess files, I mean the entire folder. I even used the latest cCleaner to do a clean-up of my registry before reinstalling; there couldn't have been a trace of previous installs there.. My motherboard can only support the 2GB of RAM that I currently have, so getting more RAM would be more costly than just buying the RAM itself.
-
Before purchasing Skyrim, I made sure that computer met, at least, the minimum requirements. My question now is this: Have those requirements changed? Ever since the patch was released that made the game able to use more than 2GB of RAM, I've been getting CONSTANT 'Crash To Desktop' (CTD) issues with no error messages. It literally happens after just a few minutes of play, now, leaving the game mostly not enjoyable for me. Before the patch that made this change was implemented, I did get CTDs sometimes, but it was extremely infrequent, and I was able to play the game on satisfying settings despite having only those 2GB of RAM, and I see no reason for this to have changed. I did not install the high-resolution texture pack, for fear of loosing performance, so I know this is not my issue. I also know that having only 2GB of RAM is outdated by now and that I need to update. However, I would like to get my game functioning again, in the meantime, while I build up the funds to do so. I do extensive searching every few days for a solution, and I have changed my sound settings, as suggested somewhere, but all of the other references to this problem seem point toward getting the unofficial Large-Address-Aware patch to allow Skyrim to use more than 2GB of RAM, which I don't need since I only have those 2GB. I've also uninstalled all mods for the time being, until I can get this working, doing so by means of uninstalling Skyrim, going to the folder to delete the excess files, and then reinstalling. Please, please help me find a solution!

They do have a value, so I should be able to get some gold for them, just like with the lower tier arrows, if my barter skill is high enough, which it should be now. I just need to know WHERE to sell them. The Merchant perk lies about being able to sell 'any' item to any merchant, since it doesn't allow me to sell torches. I've tried dropping them once, but an NPC that was nearby was kind enough to go pick them up and give them back, saying "I think you dropped this!"... This game doesn't seem to want to let me get rid of them. xD
-
So, I never use torches in this game. I haven't needed them. However, they never show up in the list of things to sell when I'm bartering with anyone, even general merchants and even if I have the Merchant perk that allows me to sell "anything" to anybody. So, where can I go to sell torches? Searching for an answer to this question just led me to people asking which merchants in-game sell torches, which isn't what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance. <3

Same issue; here's the part that seems important from the crash dump file:
-
As I said, I remapped from the start, but it still happened, so I moved it back. If you know how to fix it, please share. Also, I've never experienced either of your other issues..
-
I'm fairly sure that's not it. It happens with the same NPCs every time, and then it doesn't happen with others. I also, when I first started playing, remapped the key to toggle it to something else so that I WOULDN'T accidentally hit it. But, then I realized this was happening, so I moved it back for the easy access. I talked to a friend who plays, and he hasn't had this happen to himself, even while talking to the same NPCs that cause it for me. My keyboard is pretty standard. Don't know the specifics of it, but it just.. came with my computer.
-
This is the funniest thing ever.
-
I got pushed to the fourth page without getting a reply. Has anybody else experienced this, or am I the only one?
-
So, with some NPCs, I'm forced into walking after talking with them and I have to toggle myself back into running. It's not hard for me to simply hit the capslock button, but it's a bit bothersome since, with Oblivion, I was able to set myself to running and stay that way. Now, whenever I go from Skyrim to any form of typing, I have to check my Capslock to see if it's on or off. Does this happen to any of you? Is there a way to turn this off? I "googled" it extensively, but the closest thing I could find was someone asking a forum for help after their capslock button failed to make them run again, and I'm assuming he was just overburdened.

Seeing [Caution] or [Danger] while NOT sneaking..?
Tsukika replied to Tsukika's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
Yes, I know the Radio volume can be turned down. It still totally takes away the ambient music and combat music. Also, from what I understand about that perk, it only affects the 'running' that you do while actually sneaking, whereas what I'm asking for would take place while NOT sneaking. Thank you for the input, though. -
I've tried several relevant search terms, and nothing has brought me to an answer.. I enjoy the Radio in this game from time to time, but since, with the Radio on, I no longer hear combat music, I can sometimes be attacked or chased for several moments before I even realize I'm in combat.. SO.. Would it be possible to make it so that the words [Danger] and [Caution] appear that the top of your screen, like when you sneak, but without you sneaking? I'd prefer it if this can be done without [Hidden] and [Detected] constantly being visible. Anyone know if this is possible or has already been done?

Hi! I recently had to reformat, and since I lost my old installation of Oblivion, I decided that I would, with the new installation, try out some of the mods that I had wanted to before but was afraid to try because of possible conflicts. Well, now I'm running into those conflicts. Every time I put away a weapon or my fists, my character crouches down even lower than they do in Sneak mode before the sheath the weapon, as if there's a glitch with the animation. I've searched for answers from all of the mods I have installed that edit meshes or animations, but I haven't found a solution yet, and I've tried turning each of those off one at a time as well, and the problem persisted. My question is pretty much whether anybody else has ever experienced this issue before and, if so, how they went about fixing it. Here's my mod-list: Oblivion.esm HorseCombat Master.esm Unnecessary Violence.esm --- DLCShiveringIsles.esp Unofficial Oblivion Patch.esp UOP Vampire Aging & Face Fix.esp Oblivion Citadel Door Fix.esp Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch.esp _Ren_BeautyPack_full.esp Compass-Disable_POIs.esp FasterArrows175.esp AdrenalineOblivion-SpawnElement.esp Days&Months.esp NoMerchantBartherChatter.esp wd purse of wonders.esp Xero's Fame Indicator.esp Denock Arrows.esp Weapon Expansion Pack for Oblivion Nthusiasts.esp BaurusRunsInSewers.esp CLS-Object Renamer-OBSE.esp SetEssentialActors.esp P1DkeyChain.esp DropLitTorchOBSE.esp MidasSpells.esp Deadly Reflex 6 - Timed Block.esp Mounted_Spellcasting_Deadly_Reflex_Compatible.esp DRSplatter.esp HUD Status Bars.esp DeadlyReflex 6 - Combat Moves.esp UnnecessaryViolence.esp ----- I appreciate any and all answers, and if you need any additional information about any of the listed mods, just ask.
