  1. Well thanks for the help. Hopefully I can get some time of work this week and learn some more. quick question though. I tried following what you said but could not figure how you separated the two meshes and the helmet, they are all connected. How did you go about doing that?
  2. In other words I have more studying to do. I have been going through tutorials for the past few days, learning how to use 2.49. I have made a few basic models and thought that basic knowledge would bee all that was needed to edit existing meshes like that. With my already busy timetable It is going to take me awhile before I get any better.
  3. PSK? As in Unreal? That is not an import option for the default 2.4x or 2.5x

     

    Please post a link to the custom import plugin you are using. It would probably help if you also post a link to a PSK model you are trying to import.

    Actually it is in 2.55. http://www.katsbits.com/tutorials/blender/blender-2.5-psa-psk-add-ons-import-export-tool.php i followed this guide and didn't have to install anything

    if i recall correctly, it should be under the apparel section in your pipboy, on the very top of it

     

    do you have any such items??

    i know that the newest version of MMM also has such an item, for in-game configuration, and it's also found in the same place

     

    also, which version of FWE do you have??

    because i remember that in the last game i had (before this one), that had an older version of FWE, i didn't get the item, so i had to add it through a console command (though maybe i would have gotten it after leaving the vault, i just didn't test it)

     

    Nope, it isn't there. I have 6.3. I might start a new game and go through the vault to see if it is a problem with Alternate start.

  5. I have no FWE control panel. I did install the FOIP patch for MMM FWE so I have no idea why I don;t have a control panel.

     

    I should mention. I am using Alternate start and I have already left the shack.

  6. I installed 95% of the mods I downloaded an tested it out and the game ran fine, I used FWE and the alternate start and I could not find the FWE control panel but that is an unrelated problem. these are the mods and the load order I had them in when it worked

    I had also realized that I forgot to install the DarnUI FWE Patch so I did so.

    I BOSSed and merged them all and the on start up it would not crash immediatly. it would crash as the loading screen moved to the second Beth logo, the one in the gear

     

    I deactivated the recently installed mods and now it keeps crashing in the same spot

     

    I assume It may be the DarnUI Patch

     

    I reinstalled Darn and it worked again. So it was indeed the patch that was messing it up.

     

    Ok, found the problem. I had the wrong DUI installed.

  7. Ok just found a few more mods I may install. Real Time settlers and the unofficial perk pack. Now I have also found more body mods, as expected. The problem is clothing, the reason my Oblivion is packed full is because of clothing mods. Oblivion has a mod that enables you to switch body types for maximum compatibility with clothes. Is there a mod like that on FO3?
  8. Until today I was playing a heavily modded Oblivion, I had reached the limit and while it mostly runs fine it was unpredictable in it's stability and would crash occasionally at random times. I decided to give it a break and play FO3 instead. However instead of rushing in and heavily modding I am going to try and control myself and would like some advice on certain things.

     

    First off though, I have the game of the year edition. will this cause problems due to certain updates/patches. I think I heard that a certain official patch made the game very unstable with mods.

     

    I have already downloaded a few mods that I plan on using. FWE, MMM, Type 3 bodies.

    Other mods I know of and was thinking of using. FOOK2, Apocalypse armoury, CRAFT, RH ironsights

     

    and there are aspects I am interested in changing, these are Weather, Landscape and city mods (stuff like Oblivions better cities and Unique landscapes)

     

    My main concerns are the Overhauls, FWE and FOOK2 along with MMM and AA. What are the major differences between FWE and FOOK2, is MMM compatible with them? Also I like challenging game play so I am worried that AA adds easy to obtain uber weapons and butt loads or ammo.

     

    More questions may arise. as I said I want to aproach modding FO3 with caution so any help is appreciated.

The character that I am going to use when I get around to installing FO3 this week uses a very specific night vision. after seeing this mod I hopped that the filter I wanted would be added. sadly it wasn't. This is the filter I want for my night vision http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/1176/nightvision.jpg weather that can be added to the awesome advanced recon mod or if it has to be made from the ground up is fine either way.
  10. There is a mod that simply remodels the arrows. I know there is, I have it somewhere. Hang on and let me see if I can find it on the Nexus.

    On a different note i tryed downloading Duke Patrick's Combat mod however the site says i don't have permission....

    Yea I two hate the look, I just picked up the game after about 8 months of giving it a good rest. I started a new character, with the use a few mods in mind, those being Deadly Reflexes, Thieves Arsenal and Jog's Stealth Overhaul. To put it simple my character is pretty sneaky, very squishy and due to the mods i use reliant on bows and daggers for killing. Its very dynamic game play if you really get into it....there is just one problem... the base skins on the arrows are terrible.... an Iron Quiver?! seriously? steel shafted arrows? yea those will go far....

     

    So to compartmentalize, I like the OP am looking for some decent re textures of the bows and arrows of the game. Realistic if possible... Would go for some light armor, and dagger re textures or mods to if anyone knows any (nothing godly).

    that is kind of the same boat I am in. super squishy theif archer. I also have OOO and MMM so I went with Duke Patrick's Combat archery which makes bows much more fun to play with XD. it is satisfying being able to arc a shot right into a bandits head for a one shot kill from 100 yards away. But it is because of that mod that I actually realized how ugly the vanilla stuff is.

     

    Yea then you start to realize how the base armors are kinda crap to, lol least for me. I use the DB armor even tho im far past it just for the look. Ive been looking at a few mods ill let you know if I find anything I think you might like. I think ill look into Duke Patrick's Combat archery only thing i love deadly reflexes so if they clash i wont use it lol. DR if you dont know allows makes the game quite a bit harder, and funner if you turn it up, 250% damage on all weapons is enough to take out lots of enemies, however....they do that to you as well....trying to block claymores with a dagger don't work well...

    Deadly reflex Unnecessary violence and Duke Patrick's combat archery all work together flawlessly. I have all 3, combat is so fun, I am at the limit of my mods which is like 200+

  13. a few days ago this request was made and finished. http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/292109-stealth-camoflauge/page__hl__stealth I thought it would have been good but apparently "balanced" means useless that mod makes it so you have to be fast and when your trying to be sneaky fast is not the way to go. So I have Ideas for a balanced stealth mod

     

    For those that have played Crysis they will know this, for those that have not this is what I suggest

     

    The stealth device is tied into your magika or perhaps it's own form of energy in case you can't have % based drain. When you equip the device your magika starts to drain. when it runs out the device stops working.

    The speed of the drain is affected by the movement of your character

    Running 10 secs till Magika drained

    stealth running 15 secs

    walking 20

    crouch walking 30

    standing still 40

    crouched 60

     

    Also the effectiveness of the invisibility is based on the same factors

    running 20%

    stealth running 30%

    walking 40%

    Crouch walking 90%

    no movement 100%

     

    Also any attack made is instant energy/magika drain

     

    I think that this perhaps with some tweaked numbers would be the most balanced stealth device
