Dragon Age: Awakening
naomis8329 replied to xneseyx's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
Hmm there are a number of suspects, would need to know what mods you have on to help any further to be honest. Let us know what they are and we maybe able to sort it for you. The only other thing I can think of is for you to unload them all except for cosmetic mods and then put them on one by one until you find the culprit. Preferably do it in an area with an Invisible object so when it appears or disappears then you know which one it is :D -

Omg my 18mth old dog Mr Binx has fallen in love with one of my 6mth old kittens. He pines for her when she goes outside to play, licks her to death when she comes in and checks her from head to toe to make sure she's in one piece. He doesn't do it to her litter mate or ninjakitty just her. I'm sure she's gonna end up traumatised and he's confused about what species he is  Hell's teeth he's now taken the leaf off ninjakitty that she hunted, brought down and gave me for a gift :D

@lv000: Irlen's has only been recognised as a psychological illness in the last 10 years or so and depending upon the school we have to push for child psychologists to assess children in the educational system. A number of opticians are now quite clued up on it as it is based on visual acuity and therefore is more likely to be picked up in an eye test and then referred to the proper people should they not have tinting available within the store. Tinting is a time consuming business as it is necessary to assess whether one is susceptible to UVA/UVB rays as well as colour tinting to assist with the reduction of light on paper. Tinted glasses and acetates do NOT colour the paper or whiteboard etc, they reduce glare enabling you to read what is upon the page or board. This takes the strain out of the eye and enables the correct signals to be sent to the brain so you can interpret what you see properly. 3D also becomes clearer, although for some it remains difficult and one can still end up falling over one's feet at a moments notice (I do it quite often lol especially as I rarely wear my glasses in the house). Whilst on the computer, I change the colour of my windows and pages (if there is an option to do so) which again helps with the glare from white. You will have to muck about with your own settings to find out which colour is correct for you. Hope this helps somewhat. You need to rid yourself of the mindset that this is all your fault, it isn't. None of us are perfect, we all have flaws, some visual, some not. You and I have flaws that are none visual and therefore harder to understand. We class disabilities as problems that can be seen, this is not true, but you are gifted in so many ways. Play to your strengths and work on your weaknesses. There are ways and means to assist yourself, you have to find what works for you and do not allow yourself to be forced into something you're not comfortable with. If you need anything don't hesitate to contact me, my email is on my page if you don't want to talk about it on here. Me I'm not worried but you may do so. :D

Good morning xxx

No they will enable you to read without headaches. Irlen's is about what you see and how you interpret it. If you can't see properly then you can't interpret what it is you are seeing. Makes sense yes. Then if you have that coupled with another learning difficulty then you are at a complete disadvantage and need educational support to enable you to compete with your peers on an equal footing. Luckily we have that as a law in this country.

They can mean that you have Irlen's especially with the other symptoms you've described. Don't worry there are ways and means of sorting it :D

@lv000: then I would hazard a guess that you have Irlen's. No amount of forcing yourself to read will help. You need to ask your teacher/mentor if they have any coloured acetates, these are pieces of coloured plastic which you put on a page to turn down the glare. There are many different colours and you'll have to look through them to see which one works for you. Once you have that you will be half-way there. You should also ask teachers for copies of notes for the lesson on coloured paper, pastels green, blue or even yellow or pink, this should take some of the strain off your eyes and help you follow the lesson especially if they use whiteboards for writing on. This is an interim measure, as you will eventually need glasses, even if your eyesight is perfect just get plain glass and then they need to be sent away for tinting. To do this you need an Irlen's practitioner who will test you to see which filters and colours you will need. This then means that you will be able to go out in the day without feeling as if your head will explode and colour and definition will suddenly become more precise. You need to find out how to get these things sorted for yourself. Irlen's testing in the UK is usually conducted by a psychologist trained in it. Let me know how you get on :D

Its a disorder that can sometimes go hand in hand with dyslexia, be standalone but is a sensory perception problem. What you see is not what your brain tells you you see. 3D is an issue, you're clumsy, not good in bright light, or sunshine, have problems reading black on white, headaches (usually escalating to migraines), nausea, dizziness, lack of concentration, neck and shoulder pain through tension trying to force yourself to read and concentrate. Oh and its more prevalent in males. On saying that my daughters and I all have Irlen's and dyslexia to some degree :D There are ways and means to help control the condition but it can't be cured.
-
Sweetheart I'm sure you have Irlen's syndrome or something similar. Is it a question of not being able to see the words on the page or is it a question of not understanding what is written or a mixture of both???

 My 14yr old son broke his left arm for the second time in two years at the weekend and that was coz he and his younger bro were fighting and mucking around. Not a happy bunny to say the least as, once again, he can't play football until his arm heals. He has two championship matches this week and he can't play in either. He feels rotten and his younger brother is still so full of angst and "I don't care" that I'm about to post myself to Peru for some peace and quiet :(
