  1. Good Morning all... Another day in paradise... on no, wait, that's next week
  2. Thank you Auri, its a bit dizzying to say the least as we thought we had more time. That's the problem isn't it, we always think we have more time, when time doesn't seem to want to stand still for any of us. Talk about slipping through fingers etc. Anyway my Queen, thank you for your thoughts and kind words :)
  3. I've checked and I have him on my friends list also. As I say I recognise the name and I know we spoke as I have PMs from him also. I have the memory of a flea as you know and have trouble remembering things at the best of times. With everything that's happened the last number of years I have trouble remembering the "normal" things. Its my husband's birthday and instead of being able to do everything we planned for him today, he is at his father's bedside as he is dying of bone cancer. He has hours left and we are all in a state of shock and grief as you can imagine. So my apologies if I ask dumb questions, I'm having problems keeping hold of normal memories at the moment
  4. I recognise the name, who are they and were've they gone

  6. Let me fix that for you: There you go, much better, and much more correct too. Still Double Dutch to me ;D ;D ;D
  7. I do it every year when I blank my hard drives (every two cleanups), that way I avoid damaging my components. Most people would say it's an overkill, and it probably is, but I intend to use this PC as a LAN server for at least the next 10 years. Generally, it's advised to do it every 2-3 years (1-2 years for laptops) in order to avoid problems with disassembling the PC or changing/upgrading components. 5-7 years tops (3-4 years for laptops) but then you risk damaging your CPU/GPU when the paste hardens, it becomes a huge pain in the arse to remove the CPU/GPU from the heatsink without destroying them, especially so on laptops where they are smaller and more fragile. :pinch: It's different for laptops since they usually operate on higher temperatures and have small, dense heatsinks that gather a lot of dust, they require better maintenance, like cleaning them with compressed air every 3 months as opposed to 6 like PCs and replacing the thermal paste more often. Thanks for that honey :D
  8. Would love to, but can't afford it at present
  9. how often should one put thermal paste on the CPU/GPU thingy???
  10. I got one of those too, Jack Russel/King Charles cross. Unfortunately he is going through a crisis, as he keeps trying to rip the throat out of the dog next door. Lola is a Staffordshire Cross and a beautiful looking dog, Mr Binx is male, Lola is female. I explained to him this morning that instead of going at it hammer and tongue through the fence he should be trying to woo her... It hasn't sunk in yet
  11. who appear to have done a runner the moment I decide I can't take being used as a human scratching post...
  12. What K00L said. I would agree, though if things got too out of hand the powers that be wouldn't hesitate to swing that hammer if they thought they needed to :D
  13. erm yes, have the emergency services on speed dial before you do ok ;D
  14. I bought the latest PS3 for £175 which was released 6 months prior to when I bought it it was a used machine with a 2 year guarantee and is a fab machine with a huge hd. The boys love it and also have the latest XBox again a used machine with an extended warranty and massive hd. I'm more sure of the Sony machines as they always last longer than XBox (most of the XBoxes I've owned have lasted 2-3 years maximum, the PS's I've handed down to my grandchildren and they're still going strong.). However, I tend to wait mainly because of the prices involved and the fact that the game prices go up by £20 per release... My guys don't worry as they know they'll get one but just not at the time of first release. I don't feed the "cash cow".
  15. I doubt I will get the PS4 or XBox 1 for at least 6 months after the initial release and why... the bloody price. Wait 6-12 months and the price drops by half and the chances of bugs etc will be virtually zero. My children have the latest consoles already and love them to pieces and whilst I'm rather pee'd off with the console only release games I can wait a while to buy the consoles and the games I would like to have a go at playing. Whether or not I will be able to is another matter as I find the joysticks rather weird to use (yes, I'm heavy handed in that case, but a touch typist with a keyboard, go figure). To be able to play The Order, I will have to get the relevant console, and I'm looking forward to doing so Christmas 2014. I don't even mind buying pre-owned games from reputable suppliers as I've rarely had problems with them. Anyway, essay over, Good Morning Nexus
  16. Have you spoken to your mentor to find out your options? I didn't have a mentor, I just had about 8 tutors - two for each subject. I don't think that they have much to do with the curriculum aside from their teaching. I'm not sure if there is some sort of admin at the university or something that handles options and solutions though, plus I don't really feel like contacting them. Mum wants to contact the university and check everything out, but I'm not mentally prepared to speak with anyone from that uni. I would imagine you wouldn't hun but the thing is you only have a set amount of time to appeal or ask for assistance in resubmission. Take a few days to chill and think about your options. You'll be okay honey. Hugs

  18. what about resits in the fall?? you should have at least one more chance to get the grades you need if exams. For coursework you should have a chance to resubmit papers to gain the extra marks needed. Don't give up honey, you'll get there I'm sure :)
  19. and on that note, goodnight all :D
