  1. I thought it should be the opposite... Riften is the smallest city in the entire game, yet it's the laggiest  ? I'm not using any new mods that increase NPC population. It's only like halfway during my playthrough when I suddenly began getting FPS lag in the city. On a related note, it's also outside the city exterior where I'm experiencing yet. Pretty much everywhere I go in the Rift, just not as bad.
  2. The game basically runs with decent FPS for me in most areas but now whenever as I step into Riften, I get tremendous amounts of freezing and stuttering. The only Riften mod I'm using is Thief Edition, which overhauls Riften quite significantly. I thought that was the cause at first but I don't remember getting much lag the first time I installed the mod. I even went to confirm this by deactivacting and uninstalling the mod, went back in-game and true enough, the lag was still very noticeable. Just very slightly decreased. So I'm just confused here. What's really causing the lag in Riften? I think another possible cause is the vanilla game itself. One thing I noticed is the fog always surrounding the city. Only other city hold I know of with that much fog is Falkreath, which I too, have experienced exceptional lag in. Strange thing is, I don't remember having any (or much) lag the first time I walked into vanilla Riften when I played. Only other mod I know of that touches on Riften is the mod, Realistic Water Two, where the bobbing boats and water are affected. But that seems rather unlikely. The lag seems to stem specifically from the main city's marketplace, where even looking anywhere near it bring my FPS to a halt and I'll get immense amount of stuttering. Anyone else have the same problem or any idea on this?
  3. Pretty sure creating the same topic this many times isn't allowed on this forum...
  4. C'mon, no one? What's the Spawn markers for? Jeez, where can I find information for all these stuff?
  5. I'm also looking to add houses with NPCs and stuff and so I guess navmesh is required. Navmeshing for the houses? Will that necessary? Anyway I notice for the place I'm trying to edit (outside a city), there's a lot of these red Spawn markers around the area. What happens if I put my buildings over these markers? Will it cause any problems? It's pretty hard finding any other empty spaces for my houses
  6. Thanks, I kinda already knew of that BBC code for URL links. For the copy+paste issue, it looks like it's a browser thing...I think. I notice, the pasting (Ctrl+V) seems to work when I'm using Chrome but only doesn't work when I'm using Internet Explorer, which unfortunately is the default browser I use. Strange. Could it perhaps be a problem with this site itself? I know of some websites don't always optimize for IE.
  7. sorry, I'm quite a newcomer on this forum here but just to ask, is it possible to post links on this forum? I've seen it been done by many posters yet I somehow cant figure it out. Copy and paste (Ctrl+v) doesn't seem to work in the type box so how am I supposed to post website/mod links when I want to? Do I have to use a special function or something? I'm not too familiar with the BBC code here as well. Some of the buttons here I've tried doesn't do a thing.
  8. Getting incredibly bad DL speeds as well. I usually get 300+KB/s with downloads here, now it's never even near 50kb/s. Heck, sometimes it dips as low as below 1KB! I can't download any of the big mods i want because of this. Will this be fixed?
  9. I didn't know where else to post this so I'd try here. I've just started using the CK to mod a few things but one thing that got me stuck is which files to load from the Data option. Is Skyrim.esm the only one that I need to open? What if I want to edit existing mods as well; Do I need to tick the relevant .esp files for the mod? And lastly, how about Update.esm? From the tutorials I've read, some say Update.esm needs to be ticked along with Skyrim.esm while most others don't say this. So is it necessary or no?
