  1. I too have chated and discussed these things as well with the OP since this project was a seedling. I might not carry as much influence or respect as skree or any of you other old skoolers but i second what skree has said. The links are broken because the OP deleted the videos. If you had clicked the links when they were originally posted they would have worked fine and you could have seen the accomplishments...Remember this thread is kinda old...In my opinion anything that is an opinion about how "it cant be accomplished or how it cant exist or isn't worth the time" is negative energy and isn't needed in this thread. The OP is just doing his thing support him or dont post there's no reason for negative energy. word. to all skeptics i say go learn C++ and read up on reverse engineering. The possibilities are limited only by persistence Remember, it was just a few expert modders with programming experience that made OBSE and FOSE, slight achievement there ;) These guys arent just your average modders doing re-skins or nudie-armor variants like most modders... Alot of these guys could probably just write their own game engine, but its more fun to try and modify an existing one. Challenges are too hard to refuse.
  2. You won't make many friends here by frequently expressing your contempt for people with whom you disagree. We already know that there is a wide variety of opinions on every subject and anything that is related to sex or sexiness is a hot topic. You think things should be a certain way. We get it. No, I don't think that the military designs equipment to make women look sexy, but this isn't the military. Some players would like Fallout 3 to be a sci-fi military adventure with battlemechs and exotic weapons. Some might like mages and unicorns and sexy, nude she-demons. It is a matter of taste. Spice up your game as you see fit and let others have their fun (sex IS fun, by the way). You can easily express your opinions without adding "you are sick", "you are pathetic", "you are a pervert". It doesn't add any weight to your argument and will quite likely get you into trouble eventually. You are not free to post whatever is on your mind here. This board is not the US and your "right" to free speech and insulting people does not exist. You are still free to think whatever you want, however. BadPenney you are a sick pervert!!!! ;) *smokebomb vanish* btw whats not sexy about this: http://kuiliu.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/fall_out_002.jpg
  3. It amazes me that people still think the OP is conjuring all of this up as some kind of prank or blowing smoke up everyones ass... Ive sat there and discussed in depth with him on numerous occasions as he worked out some of the greater challenges of such a prospect, what elements of the engine can be replicated over a network, which ones HAVE to be, how this can be done with the tools we have... i Assure you 110% everything youve seen from this guy is his own work and is genuine, but dont take my word for it... Just because 99% of people cant figure out a problem doesnt mean that last 1% are phonies, maybe they just attack the problem with a different approach. Kinda like how if one were to take a modern automobile back in medieval days they would doubt them and suspect them of witchcraft and deceptions instead of taking the time to consider avenues that may be less travelled. (ie. scientific/technological innovation) okay so i suck at metaphors, but the point is that there are gifted people out there in the world, blessed with the ability to think outside the box. The OP is one of those people.
  4. we're hiring, http://www.digitalextremes.com/ click Careers in the bottom left. Cant hurt to try! a few of my co-workers also started off as modders before they landed a game job note that i cant influence any decision much , would depend solely on applicants skills and personality
  5. Really? Ok I will give that a try when I get home thanks :) pretty certain that the solution is in geck in the items/clothing/armor properties. Look for flags and play around. I had to mess around when doing the BF2142 armor to make sure that it cancels out (or doesnt cancel out) the pipboy as well as the pipboy glove. These are toggleable in GECK Afaik... unless im remembering wrong...
  6. Fallout3's weapon fire rates are reliant upon the animations being performed, so that they can remain in sync. The tradeoff is that low FPS causes animations to slow down, causing responsiveness and fire rates to crawl, or even become unresponsive, ie. clicking between frames does not register. Most games critical gameplay functions do not rely upon the game graphics, they are the opposite of Fo3. Characters actions are purely data driven, not throttled by animations. You can see an example of this in a weapons properties, in the Art and Sound tabs, the speed of the Animation actually increases/decreases the rate of fire, reload speeds etc. This system ensures (kinda) synced animations, but its pretty lame when you get alot of lag. To prove it just go into the Vault13 tunnel, look at the wall while holding F (so your camera views your avatar, with the wall behind him) and fire a fully automatic weapon. Notice the framerate will be super fast, because the cell is practically empty. Now, turn your camera so that the hallway extends downward in your view, behind your character. Continue holding the trigger and watch as the fire-rate is throttled to keep in sync with your framerate. *note: this test might not be noticeable on high-end machines The unresponsive jump key is partially due to this forced-sync with framerates, but also due to bad tuning on the mechanics. When programming gameplay mechanics of an avatar its alot of trial and error, and tons of iteration, usually resulting in basic mechanics breaking all over again just from simple revisions, requiring bugfixes and all kinds of significant bandaid programming. (if your tech is inhouse and/or in development) Alot of games do not register certain keypresses at certain times, for example in MW2 while sprinting you cannot reload your weapon, since sprinting blocks the reload button. However, reloading is interrupted by sprinting, taking priority. In a similar fashion, Fo3's jump function is at the bottom of the barrel and seems to be last in priority when the game is calculating player movement and actions as well as monitoring the framerates to keep everything in sync. sometimes keypresses just 'fall thru the cracks' between frames, but is most noticeable during graphical slowdown.
  7. so weapon specific anims plop fine overtop of a doors anims as long as they both have nicontrollermanagers? neat
  8. no but maybe they should be... extra distraction causes enemy hesitation, leaving them open for attack! :) Psi-ops!
  9. I think the OP is well on his way and his efforts will come to fruition in due time. I know him and he is going places in life due to his ingenuity. Its all genuine and alot of companies would be lucky to hire him. Any hostility in this thread is misplaced and people should just relax a tad. to those who may still think this MP project is a fake i LOL at urfaces.
  10. I see you! lol
  11. yea your head is gonna hurt after you learn how to get stuff in fallout, its like jumping through hoops, copying and pasting exports into already-working fallout3 versions and saving them as new ones ;)
  12. Look at the Top100 mods list. Theres a reason why alot of mods are on the top of the list ;) here is a link http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/top/
  13. anyone know what shes wearing? http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/159170-1272134146.jpg thanks again you guys :)
  14. its been forever but theres a certain simple magic to making these... fairly certain the best way is to export it as a simple .nif for OBLIVION then import that into Conformulator... there was something about that process that was totally bugged up, so the Oblivion export type was required to circumvent it... Its really reaching back to the archives of my mind, and im sure ill be dealing with this again soon, but if you really have a crap ton of time on your hands, look through the BF2142 mod thread, do a search for 'conformulator', and i guarantee i documented my adventures and successes (and how i did it) in that there thread.
  15. AFAIK, These 'jigglebones' simply did an interpolation slightly trailing behind other various bones in the body, so by following the same path, at a slightly different speed, it produced the illusion of jiggle. Very experimental modded tech, but pretty nifty ingenuity. And yes, ill be honest, the very first thing modders would create with the Jigglebones would be jiggly hairdos :)
  16. Whipped this up in the game's built in video editor, packaged only with the PC version. Be nice, im not a filmmaker so my cinematography is cruddy. Im working on it lol
  17. one thing you could try, get a hold of the skin textures and apply your own dirt overlays. Definately not easy for beginners but you might be surprised at what you can do :)
  18. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/calend...2-bioshock2.htm Come online tonight and play with us! Dont pwn me too hard!
  19. best part about nude texture creation is gathering references :) ... although it could also be the worst part depending on if its a ghoul model or not =/
  20. things on ice mean on hold :) Not cancelled, abandoned, or forgotten... just hold
  21. *Poke*
