  1. HadToRegister's post in How do I start Wrye Bash through vortex? was marked as the answer
    KNOWLEDGE BASE--------->TOOL SETUP: xEdit

    All of the steps are described, just apply them to Wryebash instead.

    Best to use the Standalone EXE version of Wryebash, it's the easiest one to install
  2. HadToRegister's post in Problem with managing Skyrim was marked as the answer
    The problem is that Vortex is still looking for D:\ when it's not in the system anymore.

    Click on GAMES tab------------>MANAGED------------>Click on the + sign in the Game Thumbnail--------->Click MANUALLY SET LOCATION
  3. HadToRegister's post in Newly installed Vortex issues was marked as the answer
    Well, there's been a common problem reported in the forums, that you need to turn off the RansomWare setting for vortex in Windows Defender.
  4. HadToRegister's post in Vortex will not download mods from the website. was marked as the answer
    Toggle it off, close Vortex

    Open Vortex, toggle it on, close vortex.

    Sometimes, when switching from something like NMM to Vortex, it takes a couple of times of "Turning it on and off again" to get it to stick.

    It's a system quirk.

    It happened with me too

    1. Yes

    2. You will have to double-click on the MOD in the MODs Tab, which opens up a panel on the right, change the SOURCE dropdown to NEXUS MODS, then click the GUESS button that will appear near the MOD ID field below the SOURCE dropdown.
  7. HadToRegister's post in mass effect 3 was marked as the answer
    Mass Effect 3 isn't supported by Vortex yet.
  8. HadToRegister's post in How to select CDN manually? was marked as the answer
    Go to your Nexus Profile (not your Forum Profile) click on the gear icon next to your avatar "Change Settings" scroll down to "Premium Membership Preferences", expand the section by clicking the Down Arrow and change the location in "Preferred Download Location" with the drop down menu

    Vortex doesn't "select" any download server, it only uses the one you specify.
  9. HadToRegister's post in Manage two profiles properly was marked as the answer
    SETTINGS--------->INTERFACE----------->ENABLE ADVANCED MODE

    The Purge Option will then show up on your MODS Tab.
  10. HadToRegister's post in How to install from other site was marked as the answer
    Just manually download the mod to your Vortex DOWNLOADS\<GAME>\ folder, Vortex will detect it and add it to your mod list

    -UPDATED-

    OK, after re-reading your post, this is what you did wrong.
    You have a bunch of default savegames that have been saved to "C:\Users\<yourname>\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves"

    You made 2 new profiles, and told each profile to manage their own saves, which means both profiles created their own SAVE folder inside your "C:\Users\<yourname>\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves" folder, which also in turn, changed your Skyrim.ini save path from "SLocalSavePath=Saves\" to (Example) "SLocalSavePath=Saves\GkmsFdhJ\" in your ini

    This is what Savegame Managers also do, and people use them without understanding what the Savegame Manager does, then they accuse the Savegame Manager Author of making a virus that deletes their saves.

    Because of what you did (Picking your default profile and telling it to manage saves) you've changed the path of your default profile so it can't find your old saves because the INI file path has been changed.

    This is why it's important to watch the tutorials and read the Wiki.

    Vortex didn't delete your saves, you experimented and changed things and changed the path to your saves.
    They're still there, you just need to turn off the manage saves in your default profile and it should undo what you did.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    -ORIGINAL POST-

    Look at your profiles, notice the ID in each one, such as "GkmsFdhJ" or "e1v3FmDhdu"

    EX:

    Now, Navigate to C:\Users\<yourname>\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves

    And I'm willing to bet that inside the saves folder is a folder that Matches whatever the ID of your profile is, along with the saves you claim have been deleted.

    People complain about this all the time with any Savegame Manager written by a modder and start claiming it's a virus that deletes their savegames.

    So, if you've got everything set up correctly, the folders that match the IDs (yours will be different than mine) will be in your "C:\Users\<yourname>\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves" folder.
  12. HadToRegister's post in How to restore dashboard items? was marked as the answer
    SETTINGS----->INTERFACE--->ENABLE DASHBOARD WIDGETS

    Go through each one, turn it on, see if the item came back

    My guess is "RECENTLY MANAGED"
  13. HadToRegister's post in Vortex download button on NM isn't working for me was marked as the answer
    Probably covered in the documentation that people obviously aren't reading.
    But it's the SAME thing you had to do in order to get NMM to download mods.

    Click SETTINGS, DOWNLOAD, Click the button that says HANDLE MOD MANAGER DOWNLOAD BUTTONS on Nexus Mods. com

  14. HadToRegister's post in Vortex Installation Error was marked as the answer
    Dark0ne posted a thread on this, it's a known problem with specific mods right now, and Tannin will fix it this coming week
  15. HadToRegister's post in Vortex 0.15.2 was marked as the answer
    NICE!!!

    FIXED THE PROBLEM.
    Vortex now runs without being an Administrator.

    I used a very helpful Right-Click context menu "TAKE OWNERSHIP" addon that let me take the owenership of both Vortex Folders in Appdata and in ProgramData folders.
