i was soooo hoping you'd try to say i was stereotyping :) ty, your words determined my judgment, no stereotyping or prejudice involved. my previous post covers everything i think i would attempt to explain to you. (the one with myrmaad quoted) but you sure do like to talk about your achievements don't you? giving moneys easy, giving your time and effort isn't. will power? for a meaningless event? the only person impressed was you, and perhaps a few others who think that those things actually mean something in the long run. you spouted several more stereotypes in your post. i can see that you're very proud of who you are, kudos for that eh. 159!Q INTJ personality type..if you read up on meyers-briggs less than 5% of the total world population. now...how impressed do you think i am with you? i base judgments on information received. you're as bad as the women in the OP's class. identical in fact, since you also have a very narrow definition of what you think a man is, should be or is capable of. you've proven everything i already said, and confirmed it beyond doubt. ty, i like having an analysis confirmed.

sure it is, for those physically capable of it. doesn't require strange physical trials or anything else though...and mental fitness doesn't go hand in hand with physical fitness....you could use the premise that everyones different, which is a truism or meme how ever you want o look at it. but your physical self doesn't define who you are mentally. stephen hawking...would people say he's less than a man because of his condition? what ultimately defines someone is their mental outlook, mental strength, their character. capability for rational thought and action...and what they do with those qualities. appearance or physical fitness shouldn't factor in at all. you or i could name quite possibly dozens of actors/actresses who are physically fit, take care of themselves, etc. but have the mental capacity and thought power of a turnip. a few others don't. that's why the ultimate definition will be what can't be seen but only experienced through interaction. a persons actions defines them, their words define them. appearance gives nothing but surface indicators could be rotten to the core beneath...but hey...they look good >.> on topic: stereotyping is up there on my worst crimes list, along with prejudice and several others. if i was to say i'm an ex-con...what's the first thought that springs to mind? what's the first assumption made? what's the immediate perception of a person that announces that? almost everyone has preconceived notions, it's whether or not they overrule them to think rationally that will change stereotyping or prejudice. ahh...but first they have to get past that nasty bit where they jumped to conclusions, essentially admitting they were wrong in those prejudices or stereotypes. and that's a hurdle all by itself for many. 'what? admit i was in error in my hasty judgment? not only that i have to actually think and judge this person based on their words and actions instead of the easy way?' how many people does anyone know capable of that? the strength that requires? ya, doom and gloom kinda post. my faith in most humanity is pretty much nil. case by case basis though, person by person. everyone has an equal shake, until their words or actions prove otherwise. you can assume general parameters for like minded groups, skinheads will generally be racist is a safe assumption, but all men, all women, all people of this skin tone or that skin tone, of this sexual preference or that one, of physical perfection or deeply flawed appearance will fail. can't even assume people of the same faith will have the same characteristics >.> gamer, pc geek, biker, ex-con, cop, politician, person you meet on the street, etc...case by case.

i was pretty not much bothering with this topic because stereotypes are only used by those incapable of rational thought. ie: premade assumptions let you shove someone or a group of people into a pigeon hole that requires zero thought. useless topic to me because since many people are inherently mentally lazy (less thinking the better) stereotyping isn't gong to end. can talk about it forever but still won't change the fact that until people think it will continue to happen. another reason i was passing this topic by, i don't really give a *censored* about what other people think, someone stereotypes me it actually makes it easy for me to tell who's an idiot and not worth the time. and then read this o rly O.o someone who posts about stereotyping and then stereotypes people himself...o...k. so...according to you o wise one, someone say, who's quadriplegic can never be a real man? an amputee also? could probably rattle off disabilities and diseases, chronic or otherwise that would prevent people from finishing that kind of stupidity. physical prowess means literally nothing, it reflects nothing upon your character, your drives, your morals, or your personal commitment to anything but that activity. personally i do think it makes people who participate less...um...mentally acute..since they could have used that time and energy for something useful besides a strictly personal accomplishment. it doesn't make you a 'man' it just makes you selfish. you could have donated that time and training into something to help people...takes more than a contests or training to make a 'man' or a 'woman' lets just say a decent human being shall we? it's not pointless trials that's for sure, one of them however is what can you do to help others, giving of your time and energy to others is much more difficult than any marathon. however the rewards are far greater. why did i bother? pushing your views of what makes a man especially when so incredibly wrong just had to be answered. adapt or die? pure bs, it's society and the small minded people that stereotype others that need to adapt, as long as there are so called 'men' like yourself who are willing to conform rather than stand firm in their ideals and convictions...that won't ever happen. you only proved you didn't have the heart to face societies or your peers pressure, and crumpled. conformed. became them since you now stereotype others.

No good way to root out people who are abusing the system, except perhaps whether they're trying or not to get off it. drug testing? for real? not a solution, especially looking for just one drug like thc in their system. alcohol on the other hand causes more missed days of work, less likely to be able to find a steady job than pot ever has. much less be able to create a stable life. lived in nz for a bit, what i saw was one of the worst cases i've yet seen of alcohol dependence as something acceptable in a nation. alcoholics tend to be the biggest abusers of welfare systems, as crack addicts or any of the other drugs that can cause severe addiction coupled with loss of ability to hold/find a job due to that addiction. pot, quite simply is the least of the worries. convenient scapegoat, but not a realistic one at all. eliminate welfare recipients ability to obtain alcohol first...yeah, that's not going to happen. but that is where the main problem lies. alcohol is easier (and legal) to obtain. far cheaper as well. allowing that dependence on both the state and their addiction to continue unabated.

on art: There's a black canvas that hangs in a museum, insured because it's considered 'art' but by one persons reckoning i've seen, it isn't because it definitely didn't take more than 5 minutes to create. photographs are considered art. also by that same persons reckoning they aren't, very few photographs take that persons arbitrary 15 minutes. there are artists today that easily surpass the old masters, so why is there work less valued? because they didn't do it first. andy warhols ahem...work any 3rd grader could have done, why is he famous? he did it first, along with his (at the time) hip attitude. art is forever in the eye of the beholder, those that can't create instead critique, endless cycle. art is bringing something from your minds eye to reality to allow others to see what you see. the more capable you are of doing that, the more able you are to induce in the beholders your intent, emotion, or statement you wish to make~>that makes you an artist, to convey what you want to convey without words (or very few) anime is art, as is manga, much of which shatters that 15 minute rule (Redline, Kara no Kyoukai), drawing one character may take very little time, animating that character, using imaginary camera angles to highlight scenes, adding backgrounds, and more characters, then inking that rough draft...all this from nothing...the old masters had people to draw/paint...where do you find people that look like anime characters? in the artists mind. they bring it to life, they are able to convey through their work what they want too, elicit the responses they wish to create. that is art. on anime style in western rpg's: the animosity or backlash towards anime is confusing, as is the confusion of what is considered an anime character, clothing or hairstyle. all i can figure is they don't get out much/inexperienced and/or young. i've seen hair of every shade (especially during the 80's), hairstyles of every type and fashions of wildly varying styles...all on real people, if those were ported to a game there would be cries of anime, weaboo, etc. yet they were/are western styles uninfluenced by anime styles. they were before anime became popular, before the internet existed as it does now. meh, in some fashion shows today you see styles that would be considered anime...made by westerners who probably have never seen an anime in their life. side note since there might be a few anime fans in this topic....anyone know the anime my ava came from? ^_^ ( you'll get a free :psyduck: )

STO reliability (assuming that means server uptime) is decent, recently had to correct someone so the numbers are still handy, 31 day period from feb 1 to march 4 52 hours downtime, spread over 17 days. avg being 3 hours per incident, end game...end game...end game >.> you can hit 50 fast in hours spent, at 50 there's not much, finishing episodes you hadn't yet, doing the featured episode released weekly (saturday), playing user created content, grinding stf's and elite stf's for gear/ebc's. and rare/prototype salvage. currently 3 each ground and space stf's, and finally PvP, oh or play dabo one nice bonus since pwe's involvement is you don't have to spend cash, you can grind dilithium which can be sold for cryptic points it's a game that still seems at times unfinished, combined with birthing pains from going f2p Black Prophecy is another sci-fi space combat mmo you could look at while shopping around, haven't played it since cb, it had 1 thing i didn't like and don't know if it was changed a 25 minute wait modding ship gear where you could do nothing else but chat while it was in progress, couldn't leave the game or it would cancel the mod...of course there was a cash shop item that shortened that time >.> seemed unnecessarily greedy to me. may have been changed or removed, obviously no one liked it

not quite sure how long you played it, or if you continue too play...doubtful by your complete dislike of the game. enemies take forever to kill? where? the only fights i've had that take awhile were soloing some of the bounties. (bounties are basically major boss fights in the open world, killing named villains or heroes, like solomon grundy, powergirl, etc) and seriously don't get where you see so few powers? 9 power sets, and 10 weapon styles, each power set has 4 paths, meh DCUO Wiki can read about it there, crafting was just added as well (update 8 ) and the only beef i've heard from former champion players is you can't change the colors of the weapons gfx, they're dependent on what power you chose. oh, and the ability to reach level cap in 3 days...something most mmo'ers just aren't used too. the game is only just turning a year old, your post was as if it's been running the same for years. AI and aggro are easy to predict...they work as intended. i have a tank toon, ag works fine. and you didn't mention powers chosen always have one role, DPS, and always have a secondary depending on the power, Tank, Healer, or Controller...not simplistic at all, multiple branches, multiple roles, and your abilities, perks, bonuses and penalties change by what role you're in. and seriously...70 seconds? exaggeration maybe? i've had no fight, even with my first toon, drag out that long on trash mobs. and tights? what did you play? the beta and then quit? there's tons of costume choices, covering everything...even zombie, not just tights >.> don't believe? i can post some screens if you want. melee attacks infinite range? are you kidding? melee attacks are melee range, ranged attacks are at range...you got hit by a hacker if you think melee attacks were borked. the 2 most common hacks were speedhack, and infinite range hack, the infinite range is either completely or mostly gone now, the speedhack still occurs occasionally in PvP. report player cheating and then they're banned. manually reset gear? what? little tab to 'lock' gear or at the top of style select to lock/unlock all. once you find what you want your toon to wear hit lock, and it will never change no matter what you equip until you unlock and choose something new yourself. beasts? yep, lion, tiger, cheetah, gorilla, pterodactyl, insects, fox, wolf, not to mention skins for demons, zombies, cyborgs, pure crystalline, glowing, tattooed, barbarian, lava, plant, rock and more...as wells as costume choices along those same lines. and there are more moods, what you called postures than just the flirty (as it's called) serious, primal, etc. hitting supersonic when flying doesn't make you feel super? or zip lining up the side of a skyscraper? diving and knocking everything to the ground (or throwing it for yards) around you just from the pressure wave of the dive? picking up cars/large objects and either throwing them mowing down mobs or using them to bash mobs? sounds like you played a totally different game. you sure it was dcuo you played? edit reason the '8' after update had no space before the ) so it ended up 8) :\

This is clearly an attempt at baiting and not a subtle one but I'll play along. Following your logic why do people who feel entitled to post that Skyrim sucks and keep showering praise on Oblivion are still posting in the Skyrim section of the forum? See what I'm hinting at? doesn't apply to what i said FYI mods aren't simply just about fixing bugs or improving on the game to make it flawless (if that's even possible). Most mods are about making the game look or play differently. Mods are meant to make a game more personal, open up new possibilities or bring new features into a game. bait? not hardly, and the accusation is indicative of the mindset that whomever doesn't agree with you or your views must be a troll, wrong, delusional, or making mountains out of molehills, seen that and similar slights in other threads as well as this one 'perceived faults' contained in this topic as if people are just imagining things. and btw, you never answered. it is a legitimate question, something to satisfy my curiosity. if the game is perfect...why hang out and post in a modding forums site? that seems more troll behavior than anything i've said. you're not going to mod something that's already perfect...bethesda forums would be the more logical hangout...yet you're here along with others that claim skyrim is perfect...why? if i thought this game or any other was fine the way it is...i wouldn't bother with modding sites at all. Deus ex: hr, never even bothered to search for mods, don't know if there are any, and wouldn't care if there were. definitely wouldn't go to whatever forum may exist for those mods and post saying the game is fine the way it is. there's mods for da2 here, i dislike the game, don't think mods could even save it, so also...i don't bother even going there. skyrim has huge flaws, but has a decent basic starting point for mods that will fix and improve the game...so i'm here. get the logic? i didn't say 'enjoying' for one, i was specific...construed? once again, i was specific and quite clear, trying to dig for hidden meaning is silly. and 2, taste of my own medicine? what exactly would that be? could care less about oblivion, post to your hearts content...i asked a question. didn't demand any one leave or stop posting their opinions. i'll reiterate: if the game is flawless and perfect as many of it's defenders believe...why are you on a site that mods that perfect game making it something else...no longer perfect? there is a truism...you cannot improve upon perfection. it either is...or it is not. you can't be here for the mods...that's logic based on the claims that skyrim is just fine as is ergo, you don't need mods...so, why? just to jump on topics or comments as i said above that poke at skyrims flaws?

DC universe online DC superhero mmo, flight, acrobatics, superspeed, powers out the wazoo, style and costuming choices that boggle the mind. forsaken world, asian but very different from the usual grind fest, daily quests (not always centered around go here kill this or collect that), timed instances, and dozens of little things hard to put into a brief descrip rusty hearts, 3D quest/brawler w/cell shaded cg hellgate: london techno/magic world many elements of a fps depending on your class, randomized dungeons just saw the no ddo/vindictus deal

a question for all those here defending or claiming the game is flawless...why are you here? a site mainly devoted to modifying what you believe is perfect as it is. you don't download and install mods do you? that would be at odds with your statements the game is fine as is... just hang out to watch for any posts where people have issues with the game? can't be for the mods...game is perfect according to you, flawless...can't improve upon perfection.

anecdotal evidence, things i've come across that lack any other reasonable explanation except some kind of genetic/cellular memory. Predators, big cats and wolves specifically tend to avoid man...why? we're easy prey if you only take into account how difficult it would be for a wolf pack or tiger to take down a human. plenty of meat too. If you factor in that we'll band together to hunt down and destroy any mankiller than it makes sense why we're avoided. but how do they know that? it's not just man shaped, as primates of all kinds will be killed for food. it's a specific avoidance that only the weaker, injured, or starving tend to break. unless animals have their own language, how would that information be passed on? that humans will kill any that attack just one of us? Gamers, some research has suggested that children of gamers have faster reflexes overall than children of non-gamers. this stacks with evidence that children with fathers/mothers in certain trades tend to gravitate towards those trades, and be better at them than anyone coming into them fresh. Why would children of gamers be better able to game? just watching does nothing to improve response times or reflexes. so that rules out babies watching their parents play as any sort of a primer. the reflexes lie in hand eye coordination, not just visual. now...there is a theory that says evolution is faster when survival is threatened which some apply to the gamer conundrum, 'i died' in a video game may be enough to spark that for the next generation. very flimsy to be sure...but the sense of failure in addition to the 'death' seems logical if survival triggered evolution/adaption works faster than anyone ever thought. Throwing...a complex calculation...but babies start doing it at an early age even with no examples such as seeing their parents throw things. it is a survival trait for humans, we can deter predators at range, cause injury, a powerful survival trait. sidenote...animals, predators specifically, seem to shy from just the throwing motion...programmed? can you transplant memories? most likely not. at least not through the organs commonly transplanted now. no logical reason for for any sort of memory to be stored there not related to that organs function. intentionally attempting to through RNA and/or brain tissue...has been tried at a few points in history...limited success in mice. what might be interesting...can transplanted organs affect children born after? would be subtle if any effect most likely :\ fascinating subject ^_^

point, thread title says it all, there are no versions of any armors that this topic refers to in RL, they would be useless vs modern weaponry ergo, topic refers to game/fantasy armors since ancient/historic armor as has (mostly) been established would have been fitted for the human form and not gender specific. point 2: Feet were protected, being stabbed less of a concern then being stomped. you crush an opponents foot you've hampered their mobility and ability to effectively defend themselves. If you were attempting to interject reality into this, light armor would be more practical than the full head to toe of any other kind. Skyrim for example, anything but the fur/hide would exhaust you in RL in short order trying to haul that around, move up to the heavy full coverage and you'd last maybe 3 hours before exhaustion, muscle fatigue and dehydration set in. not counting trying to fight in it. even in reality, lighter armors only covering vital areas are more practical for running around in 24/7 than full coverage or heavier armors. don't believe? strap on some plate mail and then go hiking...see how long you last. heavy armor is just that...heavy, also hot, and impedes mobility. while jrpg armors are designed more for appeal than protection...they're more practical/realistic than traipsing across tamriel in full plate. hike, climb or jump up the sides of mountains in full heavy armor? lol you wouldn't even make it up the steps to the greybeards. RL mobility/agility by itself is a form of protection. vs a heavily armored opponent...you'll win. game reality, all the things that make heavy armor a liability are ignored so vs light, heavy wins. your premise that jrpg armor is impractical didn't apply to RL, it only applied to game logic. since it's a game...anythings viable.

under $600 a quad would bring it up to a little over $600 with OS. Skyrim is not as intense as some would have you think, but it is cpu/ram intensive and that pent d even with an additional GB or 3 of ram (if the mobo could even support it) would probably still bog down no matter what vid card you got for it. the system in the spoiler is from a post a few weeks back, i was lazy and just copied it, some notes, hdd prices were then and probably still are now rather high, there is currently a shortage due to flooding. i play skyrim on ultra with a gt 430, no issues except for occasional micro stutters tested at factory set clocks, oc'ed it has no probs. but as others have said...time for a new PC. games especially pure pc games are just going to be beyond it's capabilities. if you do decide to get a new one, and build it yourself (i highly recommend that, it's cheaper) go with a quad.

anime style...wouldn't that be easier at least for texturing. having the engine render in cell/toon shading mode would be the difficult part. textures would be much simpler and considerably smaller...if required at all since you could simply designate a color rather than use any texture for many things. i play around with cell shading renders, and high res textures tend to look horrible, while simple low res textures renders much cleaner. without forcing or finagling the engine to render in a new mode, solid colors and lower res textures would work well most likely combined with shadow tweaking. modeling...heads, hair, bodies for the races. anime characters tend to have longer legs than human norm, besides the obvious head/facial differences. narrower waists, pretty much a complete rework. would like to see it, would also possibly benefit people with systems that have a hard time with the game...lower res and fewer textures would let he game run much smoother on min spec or the problematic pc configs. the ones the gb engine doesn't want to play nice with.
