  1. Anora said Alistair was dead in one of my playthroughs when he wasn't. I too was her Consort and I too did the Dark Ritual but I took Alistair with me to the Archdemon. Alistair was standing in his usual place pretty close to her so I didn't think much of it. There are several places in the game where the characters ignore what is happening and spout random lines, especially towards the end. Now that I think about it it was when I asked that the Wardens sacrifices shouldn't be forgotten that she mentioned Alistair's death (and how she was going to make a statue of him). Had I asked for another boon there wouldn't have been anything odd which would explain why few have experienced this (it is the lamest boon).
  2. So that's why he likes dolls so much (statuettes he calls them).
  3. If you played a character not prone to altruism through the whole game I think you would find that Alistair is fairly accepting of the morally questionable and tolerant of slaughter. For instance he won't care all that much if you let Redcliff fall. "I'm sorry my lord [Teagan]. You have to understand... as Grey Wardens the dark spawn are our primary concern" (-5 approval) If you sacrifice the elven slaves to gain a point of constitution he will care least of those who care (Sten and Morrigan approves). If you kill the dalish to get a werewolf army he won't disapprove at all. Doing nasty stuff to unimportant people (like say kill a caged prisoner for a key) will give small approval hits and a sigh from him but nothing major. Alistair in general is refreshingly apathetic: "Blood magic, it just get's better and better doesn't it" -10 approval "the bargains we make these days...." -10 approval Compare that to Leliana's passionate outbursts ("No!") or Wynne's judgmental hissy fits if you will.... There is however one exception to this and that is when you lash out at human authority figures. Threatening a revered mother or displeasing an arl will set Alistair off. The latter is reflected in the case of the Redcliff demon and Alistair's reaction if you opt to kill it in the real world (not the fade). It's not about killing an innocent boy and how that goes against Disney standards. It's about the all important arl and Alistair's relationship to him. This is stated outright if you have high enough cunning. Alistair: This is the arl's son were talking about here. What do you think he'll say when we revive him... I owe the arl more than this. Cunning Warden: So this is about you and him and not me [and my decisions] at all Alistair: No... Well maybe I don't know. I suppose it's done isn't it and it'll have to be enough. Ahhh why am I getting on your back about it. You did what you had to.
  4. I used to think his actions were odd. Then I killed and looted him and it all made sense. Given that he is lying about not collecting caps anymore, and carrying them around even though he knows there are "people" who attack strangers on the suspicion that they have some, he is obviously trying to get you to collect caps and get on your good side so he can swoop in at a later date and kill you for them. The cap he says he saw you find is probably a lure placed by him to find new victims. A tracking device on it would explain how he found you.
  5. It's simple to do and simple to undo so I recommend you try it. Your processor would definitely fit the bill of being potentially too good for the engine to handle. If you do the fallout.ini is in your document folder usually under My Games/FalloutNV.
  6. Powder gangers in general don't attack on sight even if you are vilified. You can go into their vault even if they hate your guts (vilified) and they will remain passive. You can still do quests for their leaders. The odd berserker "powder ganger", found on the way to Primm, near the prison etc, will attack you no matter your reputation. Doesn't matter if you're liked or vilified. They probably shouldn't have the affiliation but rather function like the gangers in Primm (i.e. no reputation loss from killing them). The only powder gangers in the game whose attack patterns vary with your reputation are the ones in the prison and that is likely scripted, not a game mechanic so to speak.
  7. Are you using a CPU with more than two cores/threads and if so have you applied the ini-fix that limits the game to two cores (see below)? If not my experience is that certain locations will cause CTD, usually dark indoor locations a description the ant filled generator room would fit. in fallout.ini change: bUseThreadedAI=0 to: bUseThreadedAI=1 and below add the line: iNumHWThreads=2
  8. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Snowglobes * If you kill Jane before you sell her all of the snowglobes you will be unable to remove them from your inventory. On PC you can remove them using console, player.removeitem <base_id> <amount> * Using the following console commands on PC will allow you to interact with Jane and turn in your Snowglobes after killing Mr House: prid 00116A52 disable enable kill resurrect moveto player
  9. You have to supply them with ammo if you want them to use something other than their default weapons. The weapon Cass gets free cheat ammo for is indeed subpar so Boone is better if you're poor and can't afford to spare a good weapon and ammo for a companion.
