  1. I really enjoyed this interview. I have used xEdit over the years and have been pleasantly surprised by the ongoing updates from people who love gaming. I respect ElminsterAU even more for backing away to help raise his children and come back when the time was right. This editor supports my relaxation away from my own children at times to re-energize before I head back into the fray! :)
  2. Take a look at this post and see if it fixes your issue. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4888645-shadow-lighting-issues-facing-south-east-fixed/
  3. Take a look at this post. When I was in the starting vault I had dark, then light... It might fix your issues. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4888645-shadow-lighting-issues-facing-south-east-fixed/
  4. Hello, This issue plagued me for a few weeks until I found the right post with the information to fix it. What drove me nuts is that I saw at least a dozen reports of this issue between Nexus & Steam and only one poster alluded to the fix. No confirmation that it was fixed. I have been digging and fixed my issue. I will share what it looked like and how I fixed it for my machine in hope that someone else will spend less time spinning their wheels and more time rocking out on this awesome Game. Issue: When my character faces South or Southeast all the interior cells that would have shading went BLACK! Nasty unplayable issues if I was in combat. You can review a 45 second YouTube of what this looks like. URL: https://youtu.be/S5GQv4nNT3M The fix was an update to my Fallut4prefs.ini bComputeShaderDeferredTiledLighting=1 to bComputeShaderDeferredTiledLighting=0 I hope this helps someone else. It has been related to other issues with large screen widths and FOV issues. This worked for me, I juat spent a fair amount of time on google and searching boards. No expert. 5. Well said... I was frustrated with win 8.1 and hoping to get away. It has been a good move on my primary gaming rig. This issue has been to difficult to work around and I would like to get back to game time with my son and not "working on the computer."
  6. Hello, I recently updated the family PC (Dell XPS all-in-one)to Windows 10. I have found issues with most games running in full screen mode. I get only black screen with sound as the game runs in the background. If I run it in window mode graphics work fine; Portal 2, Dungeon Defenders, StarWars Battlefront II... all old games so not stressing the machine. I have many more but I keep them aligned with what the machine can handle. I have the latest graphic's drivers (win10\64bit) and I have spent a lot of time trying to tweak the Geforce Control Panel to no avail. PC works fine until game is launched in full screen mode and then only audio. Lame... Not willing to lower my expectations or reinstall windows 10. I will fall back to Window 8.1 only as a last resort (suck). At my wits end on this issue as numerous Google searches have not helped. The following is not a work around for nvidia 1. start -> Control Panel 2. click NVIDIA Control Panel 3. On the left select 3D Settings -> Manage 3D Settings 4. On the right select the Program Settings Tab at the top 5. Click Add to add a program 6. Browse to the find or browseto the <game name>.exe 7. 7. Awesome, thank you for contributing to this awesome mod site!!!
  8. How many Mods were you trying to merge? :geek: I tried the method of "Go Big or Go home..." TESVedit sent me packing for my ignorance. So i am starting small with uncomplicated mods. Armor & Weapon Mods and I mean start small. 1st pass was to open Mods version 0.94 and load up individually and save in 1.70 format. I found various errors in my mods and I cleaned up some dirty edits. Now I have a good base to work from and I will get back with my success or failure. I think I will start small with TESsnip and then try TESVedit to see how that works. My bane was DuplicateID even with a new Mod. Just an FYI, on Bashed Patches. I run them LAST (unless using a skyproc patch) and rebuild them often. Bashed is good for merging your leveled lists and other issues. Still pretty basic is Skyrim vs other games but very useful. Even when I was making a Merged Patch I took out the leveled lists and placed my rebuilt Bashed Patch after. Modding your games is not for the faint of heart. I spend a lot more time modding then I do playing. How sad is that  But it's fun!
  9. Sharlikran did a YouTube back in Jan 2013 with TESVSnip. Later we had the new version of TES5edit which is used in these screen shots. I have been playing around with the idea of merging many of my armor mods. The ones I have selected contain no scripts that I am aware of... They do sometimes have quests, perks, npcs, and the occasional level list. Early attempts have failed due to the duplicate ID issues even when creating a new Patch file. I am having difficulty determining to what extent TES5edit can create new Form ID's? Does is update a quest that ref. a specific Form ID? It would be good to have some warnings about what is realistically merge-able? Where are we biting off more then we can chew?
  10. TCG - Tradable companion gear. K Custom Followers
  11. Skima200 you kind of hijacked the original thread from elpuma77. You should have started your own but back on track with a few pieces... Elpuma77 good luck on the adding one-by-one but that really is the best method of cleaning up your issue. A few that stuck out at me do to my own mod preferences and companions were your ref to TCG. Not sure if your load order exported to this the way it is listed. Are you using BOSS to setup your load order? I noted some errors for TCG and CK companions you need to reorder. And you really need to read up on each mod you add to the game. CK talks about the "naked PCs" as the way TCG works with companions is by removing the default clothing of NPC companions so the TCG scripting can take over. For any companion to work with TCG they have to be edited in Creation Kit or NPC editor and have the default field set to null. It sucks and it breaks up the game immersion but these are the apples we get right now. I hope someone comes up with a better system that perhaps uses SKSE to get around these limitations. I know on further issue is that each NPC can only be touched by one mod. So the deadly dragons and TCG are going to over-write and conflict. You have to choose one or the other and live with it. I spent a LOT of time getting to now Wyre Bash, BOSS and other tools so I could get more out of my game. Modding is not for the faint of heart and you MUST expect that CTDs and issues will arise as we choose to step away from the vanilla game. Good Luck! Oh, Skima200 I suggest reinstall Midas Magic. Might clean up your issue.
  12. Ok, I am just a tard. :teehee: I did a clean wipe and it works fine  So it is just me and my happy merging. I will just live with Kawa-Khajiits and Friska in their original forms. No merging. Yet, now I have installed Blender + NIf stuff and I am intrigued.
  13. Yep, something is up with the normal map. Just for kicks I re-pointed the head texture to the Tabaxi and pow, I have a face. So my guess it something in the alpha channel. What is the difference between using black vs white in the alpha channel? Reflectiveness from the light? I noted that most normal maps for others work have a black alpha channel and the lip area might be brightened. The original normal maps in the package were all 'white' for the alpha channel. Upon closer look I found the same issue with some of the textures for persocoms ears. So... either something on my machine like InfanView or Thumbnails is changing the files? Tera copy when I move them? No idea other then just rebuilding all of the normal maps and correcting the alpha channel. Sad thing is I spend more time messing around and correcting mods to work with other mods then I do playing. Sometimes I think I enjoy the tinkering part more then the play time. Aaaarrrrg! It's modding fever! Games Modded: Bauldur's Gate II, NWN, NWN2, The Witcher, Galactic Civ II, Oblivion, Fallout 3, and DragonAge. Ask me if I have finished any of these games. Anyone else have the fever? Oh, and an few answers to help me on my way.
  14. Thank you, I have sent you a PM with a link to my Master Race.esm file.
  15. Ok, grabbed the Nvidia Normal Map Filter and was just about to get going when I decided to look at the existing .dds file. I think my IrfanViewe Thumbnails just looked bad... Below is a quick peak of the normal map one would expect. http://www.rpgmodding.com/images/kkfiles2.jpg So, it looks good. Faces in the toolset are still black. I run into this with NEC Mystic Dark Elf remake as well.
