  1. Do you mind letting me know how to do that? I haven't played modded oblivion in awhile and the more delicate and complex nature of getting things to work without modern conveniences is kind of beyond me. I just disabled everything after reinstalling though and it's still happening. So I'm a bit lost.
  2. When I start a new game, all the character creation option's heads are missing. They have eyes and a mouth but transparent cloud-like flesh. I don't know what other mod could be doing something like this. I have Blockhead working as it generates an .ini. As far as I can tell, as I haven't really gotten past character creation to make a save, OBSE is working as well. I can't use BOSS to sort my load order as it just crashes after it finishes with the masterlist. I have all the OBSE plugins for the above mods as far as I know. Oh yeah, tried running as admin. And I have the steam version and the overlay disabled and all that. That's really all the info I can think of. Last idea is to reinstall, but I have a feeling that won't do much.
  3. It seems each time a new Bethesda game is released the community is faced with threads like this. Identical complaints of a scaled-down universe and lack of personality, streamlining of RPG elements, and so on. Not that all of these are invalid, but nonetheless, I imagine you'll all get over it when the CK comes out. Or, as usual, you'll continue finding something to complain about and fail to appreciate (inevitable) change. Is Bethesda on a slow descent into action gaming? I can't say, because I enjoy FO4 despite the improvements to non-rpg gameplay, and can maintain my imagination and immersion even though I can't spend skill points. Really the only upsetting thing here is people claiming FO3 was actually better. That's almost unbelievable. It's usually difficult for me to find anyone who thinks that game is worth it's weight in sand. A small map of an empty city you're forced to engage in almost entirely in a barren and uninteresting underground, with startlingly few side quests and no factions outside of an entirely linear main questline, with dots of small, forgettable, bland settlements and characters. Really, at the very least, let's admit FO4 has improved since then. There is undeniably an atmosphere to the Commonwealth. It's the violent, personified urban warzone that the Capital Wasteland should have been. Running towards the safe-zone signs of Diamond City while being chased by bullet-dodging ferals to get roped in by Piper was a much more charming experience than walking out of a grey subway full of bullet-sponge ghouls to find some mutants with rocket launchers and a city of ghouls that offer two quests and a few dialog options that involve asking profuse questions about their personal lives. Ultimately, if you think FO4 is lacking on content, you're not looking. I'm at 125 hours (no fast travelling) and have hardly touched radiant questlines yet. Read a few terminals, talk to people. There's a lot going on in the Commonwealth these days.
  4. Same exact problem. I disabled nearly two dozen mods, leaving only the essentials, and the problem persists.
  5. I was doing some innocuous nothings around Westside (sleeping) when my graphics glitched. I said "Ok, I'll finish sleeping then restart the game." When my character awoke the graphics went even more mad (just light shooting around the screen really) then the game closed without any error. After a moment an error report popped up and said "plugin_container" or something like that had failed, and needed to close and all that nonesense. A little while later I tried to start the game again. Now here's my issue. Whenever I launch the game, it pops up and the screen goes black a moment, then the typical indicator sound goes off and the game minimizes under a new program that's suddenly opened called "Fallout", that seems to be an invisible window that does nothing except restore down the Fallout New Vegas window, and from that point on the FNV window is just a black square on my screen. I doubt a mod has caused this, every crash on on every game I've ever played with mods has been of the blue screen or error report variety. This just seems like the game is looking for something that doesn't exist.

I've been looking around for a bit and I'm surprised to find that there's no mod or console command (that I know of) to prevent the silly tantrums that companions tend to throw when they don't get what they want. My dilemma at the moment is that I have several mods running that make it very very tempting to shoot up a couple NCR grunts every now and again, but seeing as I have Boone as a companion and there are little to no male companion mods available, I find myself incapable of doing so. Honestly though, the mod deficit the only reason I keep him - it's a bit silly to me to be running around the desert with a harem in tote. I try to keep the gender ratios balanced and the girls reasonably covered up. I can't take anything else seriously. But back to the point - are there any mods to stop companions from leaving, or is making one a possibility?
  7. Thieves Guild. It can be terribly difficult and rather obnoxious at times but it's certainly the most well designed and inspired questline. The Mages Guild gets second for everything sans the end which was pretty bitterly anticlimactic. Everything else is just RPG-stereotype hack-and-slash nonsense so I won't bother critiquing it. Still my favorite game somehow.
  8. Name: Alstana SP: Shoot. Like 2.7 mil. ISK: 43 mil and depleting. Corp: Ascension Manufacturing. Stuff I do: Try to fly through stars generally. And businessy things that don't involve explosions for the most part. Playtime: 4 minutes to 6 hours a day. Depends on how many Cheetos and Mtn. Dew cases I have.
  9. I did the control panel uninstall which was basically just what I did before (after I deleted all the files in the folder it still made me go through an automatic uninstall) and used the registry cleaner but windows live is still reporting a problem whenever i try to uninstall the DLCs
  10. i've already reinstalled the game and all, i uninstalled them by going into the fallout 3 folders and deleting all the files to clear disk space from mods, then when i put the disk in the other day it went through the uninstalling procedure of its own. The issue according to LIVE is that the DLC's can't find the uninstalling path, and all the files concerning them are deleted and long out of my recycle bin.
  11. i deleted all my fallout 3 files manually (i thought) but i think i just figured out for myself that the uninstalling issues that existed with oblivion end up here too..my DLCs were in my data folder at the time and now that ive deleted them LIVE can't reinstall them and won't acknowledge that the files dont exist anymore. is there anything i can do now or have i lost them?

I had to do a registry uninstallation of oblivion because it was pouting I guess, but my intention was to install it later when I wanted to play it again..well now it's later and the launcher won't open. I've tried multiple different disks of the game (somehow ive come to own several) and my computer can't initialize the launcher for some reason. It just dings, like the windows XP ding you get when the computer pops up a warning or question. And that's all.
  13. i have the latest version but this has happened for any version ive ever used. I move them around but they dont change, and even when i turn them off/turn on another to replace that spot for example no other mod will take that spot in the load order sans the one i turned off. the only way i can change the load order (ive found) is if i place them in an order then check all mods and go filter out the ones i dont want, then it will be remotely similar to the order it needs to be.
  14. going a bit far to say the game is vapid or ruined in any way by strange NPC interactions. most RPGs i tend to pick up don't even have "NPC interactions" to remonstrate or praise to begin with. most games tend to follow the FPS-rule of NPCs stand still until you come into shooting range, then they shoot. thats all :) atleast they have life to some extent in them, even if it's buggy. i think i prefer the oblivion AI to fallout where NPCs speak to eachother and such however.
  15. As said above, basic question. How do I alter the load order? When i drag them around it changes nothing other then their position on the listing, they still load at the same intervals. All i can do is set the "load last, first" mods.

  18. turns out the version of the above noted mod i downloaded deletes all the vanilla pipboy files from your game. permanently. like, i have no pipboy without it on. and guess what. i can't have it on, the file version i have is broken. initially i thought it just affected the menu slides, freezing after a certain portion of them. but then after tweaking the INI i found out it caused the game to crash after some small allotted amount of time. any way i can restore my pipboy files without uninstall/reinstalling the game?

Firstly, in effort to develop a citadel nation against communist insurrections or influence throughout their sector of the world is, it's plenty viable that the development of superordinate weaponry was a bit more crucial to the American macrocosm at the time then putting effort into musical evolution. Secondly, Fatman went down on Nagasaki, Little Boy went down on Hiroshima (yes I know I may sound like a angel for saying that), and because the bombs may be modeled after one another does not mean that it was intended to be the same. Modern missiles of that sort just don't look quite as nice in a crater. Third, no, robotics aesthetics are not your métier I may say. Alternate fuels, by 2177, were likely imperfect, but in use. If it was rocket propulsion, yes, it would be immolating the ground beneath it, that should be enough evidence that it is not. Fourthly, Raider colonies make up a magnitude of the Wasteland's population, yes, but they are unorganized and likely at odds with each other. However, there's no evidence either way. Lastly, Cold War would be more feasible, yes, but Bethesda did not produce that cognitive content. It's Fallout 3 as you can see. Others decided to swear by a 40's/50's (what evidence do you have that it is 30's, save for music?) and Bethesda could not hold input unto that.
  20. Uncertain what caused this, I had not installed any new mods or anything, but gore/dismemberment has stopped occurring in the game. When I shoot the dead, they flinch and then recoil. Shooting the living doesn't feel to be in its entirety without decapitations and that sort of excitement. Mini nukes won't rip people apart anymore, sort of a bummer. Nothing has been added to my ini (I checked) so if anyone knows something that can aid with this please respond.
  21. CM partners is having a glitch where anytime I attempt to share with my companions, my game freezes. But that's not the big deal. The big deal is that the unequip their weapons/armor anytime I change from interior to exterior. So they pretty much just fight with their fists. This has happened to my friends as well just not this bad, any way to fix it?
