Rennn
Okay, I haven't played my PS2 much, but I hooked it up to the 720p tv I normally use for my consoles. I expected the image to be blurry, since the PS2 outputs at 480i. I did not expect it to be intermittently blurry. When I'm standing still, the picture quality is pretty good. (as good as can be expected)When I move or turn in a game, however, the screen suddenly becomes extremely blurry. Then, once every few seconds, it "snaps" back into focus before becoming blurry again. I don't know what's causing this... Any ideas? It's not the tv itself, because I don't have any problems playing PS3 games on it. Edited May 23, 2013 by Rennn
hoofhearted4
are you using a PS3 to play the game? because the PS3 has a setting to upscale PS2 games so this stuff doesnt happen....ive played a bunch of PS2 games on my 1080p TV with no problems before.. if youre playing on a PS2 then idk, one of the perks of still having an original PS3 with backwards compatibility :P

(It didn't help that it'd been on for about 8 hours straight, lol) I got a slim to make sure that doesn't happen again, which doesn't have backwards compatibility. So I'm playing on a PS2, not a PS3. JimboUK
What are you using to connect it? if you're using a Stereo AV Cable or worse an RF Adaptor then it's going to look terrible. S-Video or even better Component would improve things. The blurring may be the TV struggling to keep up with the upscaling, there's a quite a bit to be done from 480i to 720p. Have a look in the TVs options for 1:1 pixel mapping. if it's there turn it on, you'll get a large border around the image but there won't be any need for upscaling. JimboUK
If you've got the space it might be worth picking up an old CRT TV, people are virtually giving them away.
