Hello,

it's been quite some time now that my skyrim isn't stable, well it was never stable anyway
I've tryed a LOT of tutorials found everywhere on the net, crash fix freeze fix and all this things

It's not hard, if i don't crash i freeze

I don't use texture mods or anything, only ENB with some effects deactivated (ssao and Dof)
We'll start with the freezes,

My game freeze randomly at completly different place or moment
i can freeze reload my save and play without one for 10-20 minutes (or more if i don't crash)
A lot of people talk about memory issue so i've installed cleanmem and have yet to use it for a long period of gameplay

but that's impossible because of;

The crashes,

My biggest problem, i crash a lot and for no particular reason, i can crash when i explore, when i loot, when i load a save
I sometimes even need to load a save in an interior so i can load a save that is in the wilderness or it'll just crash/load forever

i'm trying to remove some mods that i know might conflict but it's still unplayable
There is still some mod that i'l try to remove if there is no other solution

But i must say, i won't remove some mods because they are just my favorites (i'm looking at you headtracking)

I, of course, allways clean my script forlder when removing a mod

here is my list of mods;

I've been able to play longer latly by removing some of my mods

Even if the game feels easier now it's still more stable

But just now i had another crash and i've noticed something in my papyrus log that looks quite weird

stack:
[ (00032D99)].MQ106BurialMoundScript.OnUpdate() - "MQ106BurialMoundScript.psc" Line ?
[05/28/2013 - 03:38:33PM] error: Cannot call IsSameLocation() on a None object, aborting function call

Looks like this error is spamming my log

here is the full log: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23333186/Papyrus.0.log

If you save the exe, then don't allow steam to update by staying in offline mode - you can roll back. But that is not a solution as nearly everyone is running the latest version without these problems. If you are running something you downloaded from some torrent - who knows what you really have as along with the game you got whatever problems the uploader had with it.

Often these kind of problems are NOT part of the game - or a mod, but something outside of the game Fix your Operating system ,then your video system, then - if you still have problems look at the game.

The Gambryo game engine that Bethesda has been using since Oblivion is buggy. And it has a well known memory leak that does not return unused ram as well as it should. The more mods you use, the more ram that is needed, and the quicker that memory leak is going to affect your game. Having more ram can help with things that are not a part of the game to some extent. But the game itself is still limited to no more than 4Gig of ram. That is a hard limit that cannot be 'fixed'. An occasional quick trip to the console for a PCB (Purge Cell Buffers) can help clear some (but not all) of the lost memory - best used in an interior game space.

Ah! I didn't know PCB worked best in interiors

The thing is that i use Cleanmem who's supposed to help me with memory leaks, i might say it helped a little but during civil war i still had a freeze (and some crashes too while quick saving and moving toward the fort i was attacking)

i check regularly what the game takes in memory and it rarly goes over 2gig of ram,

I don't use anything else than body textures, rock textures and enb, that's all

Still those crashes above really looks like memory crashes

I've updated the load order to the current state too

i really think the crash is related to that script error but i don't know how to correct it

For the 1.8 i use originale files (without it steam overlay doesn't work and i want to keep it on)

You should try running without the Player Headtracking, as a test. I had to remove a mod I really wanted to use because I just learned it was causing a lot of freezing, crashing, and infinite loads. It was a mod that does the same type of thing as PH, from a technology standpoint. It has scripts which constantly fire off and have to assess a large number of objects and events. That's exactly what PH does. It's constantly evaluating objects around the player to determine how far away they are, and which type of object they are so that it can determine whether or not the head should turn to look at them and for how long, etc. In theory, this is perfectly fine. But some things may trip it up. For example, I found that there are lot of none objects around Whiterun that caused PH to spew papyrus log file entries back before the author turned the logging off. I think those objects are built into the game by accident, but it's possible another mod put them there. And mods like PH are, by definition, very script-intensive, because they are constantly running. Sometimes the papyrus engine doesn't seem robust enough to support this type of usage, depending on what else you have going on in the game. My game is filled with birds flying around, wild animals and farm animals running and hopping around, lots of NPC's walking, fighting, dragons flying etc. That provides a lot of objects for mods like PH to have to sort through in real time. My advice would be to uninstall it, leave everything else the same, and see if it makes a difference. You will have to start a new game though, since the scripts will be baked into the save, unless the author has provided something to stop them from running.

The reason I was asking about how you rolled back, is that to me it looks like your game is trying to reference a bunch of stuff that is not there.

I was thinking that might happen if you had tried to apply the old 1.8 onto a save that was built on 1.9.

Posted

I didn't think you could even use a 1.9 save with a 1.8 Skyrim. Most of that logging stuff is from mods, not the base Skyrim. That burial mound thing is from the base game though. I've had that same thing happen quite a bit, immediately followed by a crash. I haven't seen it recently though, and I don't have any saves left from when that was happening. You have a lot of spam from scripts baked into the save by mods you have removed. The Unofficial Patch people do not recommend uninstalling them once you have made any saves with them active, unless you plan to discard those saves. That's really true for any mod that adds at least one script. Skyrim was not designed to work with mod removals, only mod additions. I wipe out all my characters and start over every few weeks for that very reason.

<p>I have a consistent repeatable crash right now I'm trying to figure out if it's hardware or skyrim/mods causing it.......I'm currently leaning towards the game/mods since i've gone through great lengths with the hardware side of things to figure it out.  Right now I can load from a save run the exact same course over and over and it will freeze around the same spot everytime.....wonder if it was a mod I uninstalled that's causing it?</p>

<p>Exact same spot under the wooden foot bridge occupied by forsworn, just east of Falkreath........</p>
