3EyeSudios
So I was fighting some bandits and a thought came to mind: PTSD (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder) and guilt trips. The reason why these things came to mind was because what if some of these people had their own unique stories? What if a bandit became a bandit because he had children to feed and couldn't get a job? What if a man became a soldier because he lost his parents in a raid? So the idea is to write many unique diaries, notes, love letters, etc. and place them randomly on enemies to add a bit of depth with some lovely guilt trips. SpockST
I like the idea of adding to bit players back stories but hate the guilt trip part. I have enough of a guilt trip simply because I survived when a lot of my friends didn't ... :ninja:
Tehandyman
That would actually be a fairly easy mod to do, if someone is willing to write up like 20-30 different generic letters or journals (nothing too much, like 100 characters for letters and 2-3 pages for journals) It would be a cinch for me adding them to the dead body loot list for bandits and such. The more letters/journals the better. Nothing breaks immersion than seeing two of the exact same letter on two different bandits. But also keep them generic enough that they could work for anyone. That means don't write anything that has to do with race. NPC specific letters can be done though, (like Necromancers and Bandits can have a different set of random letters than Stormcloaks and Imperials) Edited May 29, 2013 by Tehandyman
AnkhAscendant
I like this. :) I'm willing to help write letter, journals, books, what-have-you, but I don't think I'm competent enough to organize them in the CK.
Foulfrost
This reminds me of several instances where the game already does this. Bandit: You're dead, DEAD! You'll be so much easier to rob when you're DEAD! *dies* *Has letter on body saying he's going to do what he has to do for his child, he can't say he'll be back soon, or ever at all, but daddy loves you.* Suddenly, killing this dude for 100 gold makes you an asshole. :P

When? where? How have I not killed enough bandits to witness this?!!?
Tehandyman
I like this. I'm willing to help write letter, journals, books, what-have-you, but I don't think I'm competent enough to organize them in the CK. Write as many as you can! I could get them into the loot list for bandits and necros and soldiers and all that! (At least I hope, I've done a personal mod where every bandit has a skull and heart in their dead body that I could loot, idk if this would be roughly the same mechanic)
