flaregambit
Location : CorvegaAssemblyPlant01 IndMetalDoorPlugA01 (00018C7C) catwalk entrance I can not get this door frame to render under normal circumstances IF the cell is edited in any way. If the cell is not edited (vanilla) there are no issues but make one change to anything (which registers the cell as being modified) and the door frame stops rendering under normal conditions. Other IndMetalDoorPlugA01(s) in the cell are not affected. - I can get it to render if I clip through the door (which is still visible btw) and look at it from behind or looking at it sideways from INSIDE the door - If I disable the door and drop a movable item on the threshold of the door frame it too stops rendering (I can pick it up and is starts rendering the item again). If I move to a spot (inside or behind) that causes the door frame the start rendering again then the item that was placed at beings to render again. - If I move the door frame far enough it will start rendering again. (eyesore as it is ON the catwalk at this point) - Disabled all mods save a simple tester that moves one item in the cell - no change. - Enabled all mods except those that modify the cell - renders normally (with out having to reset the cell). - Removed all loose Meshes/Texture/Materials/Scrips and non base game/DLC BA2 files - no change. - Reset my all my .ini files to vanilla - no change. - Used a Pre-Culling disabler - no change. - Latest Drivers from Nvidia GTX960 - no change. -Uninstalled ReShade - no change. -Verified integrity - no change. It is as if there is a void at this spot where things that are in said void dot no render unless the pov is in/beyond said void. From what I can tell the game engine "thinks" that this spot is outside my pov and thus does not render it (mesh is still there, just not rendering the texture). The only other thing I can think of doing is uninstalling and reinstalling the game + DLC which I would rather not if I can avoid it. Any insight/advice would be appreciated. aurreth
If I'm reading this right you edited the cell in the CK and it makes one door frame stop rendering correctly? You broke a precombine. That piece was linked to something else and editing the cell broke that link. Understand that precombines do not really make any kind of logical sense. I've seen walls and floors vanish into the void when I delete or move a table several rooms away. Whatever algorithm Bethesda created to generate precombines is pretty insane. The bigger the cell the worse it gets. So, you need to generate, in order precombine, visibility, and previsibility. And honestly that might break other things. One of the reasons there is so much clutter in the game is that the precombine process just doesn't work in some places, so Bethesda hid the broken spots with trash or rubble or crates. Also check for room boundaries and portals. This was apparently an alternative to the precom/previs system and the two don't play well together. Deleting room bounds/portals in the area of the disappearing door frame prior to regenerating precom/previs may fix the problem. flaregambit
Yep extending the room boundary solved the problem. I had turned off that particular marker YEARS ago and had forgotten about it. I had spent all day trying to find out what was triggering the rendering to cease rendering and as usual problem was right in front of me but I could not see it (literarily). So many thanks for the insight - you just saved what was left of my weekend.

So many thanks for the insight - you just saved what was left of my weekend. You're welcome, glad I could help. I had a similar problem with Vault 95 (an entire wall of blinding white unless you stuck your nose against it). Once I deleted room boundaries and portals the problem went away. Turns out the two systems were competing, and I guess it ended in a draw so they just said screw it and tried to blind me so I wouldn't notice (the white void really, really hurts my eyes for some reason).
