Yinspirit Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Alright, I'm trying to use nexus mod manager. But it says that a secific file needed is missing. The file is:C:/Program Files (x86)/steam/steamapps/downloading/72850/Data/Skyrim.esmI've looked, and sure enough, the file isn't there. In fact, the downloading file is completely empty. I've reinstalled the game. I've reinstalled the manager. I've done a file restore. Nothing. So now there are a bunch of exclusive mods I want to use, but no way to get them. I'm having no technical problems with my game, however. Is there anyone that can help me?
prod80 Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 That whole directory seems invalid. Isn't it suppose to be;C;\Program Files (x86)\steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Skyrim.esm ? I think NMM can redetect your skyrim installation folder. Did you happen to have installed and ran NMM while Skyrim was still downloading and didnt finish installation?

Georgiegril Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Can you start the game using just the steam launcher?
steve40 Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 *shrug* I don't see how there's "no way to get them". Download and install the mods manually, silly.
ZeroSbr1 Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Honestly, NMM kinda sucks IMO anyways. I always install manually. Sure it's more cumbersome to uninstall, but you have more control.
Kolekoranda Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Copy and paste the .esm file, I had the same problem, but it works now :)
Someguy88888 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 I FINALLY GOT IT AND I'M REALLY STUPID WITH COMPUTERS!!!The error message says skyrim.esm is missing in Program Files(x86) > steam > SteamApps >downloading > 72850 > DataWell like SerfT saidlocation of skyrim.esm and mods/dlcs isC:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\DataThese are two different folders and NMM wants the esm files in the Data folder for 72850.So simply copy and paste all files fromC:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\DatatoProgram Files(x86) > steam > SteamApps >downloading > 72850 > DataIT WILL WORK AND IT'S COMMON SENSE TOO. NMM WANTS esm files in a SPECIFIC folder so might as well copy all the esm files to the SPECIFIC folder.Hope I helped I was bogged down with problem too :)
