Alright, I'm trying to use nexus mod manager. But it says that a secific file needed is missing.
The file is:
C:/Program Files (x86)/steam/steamapps/downloading/72850/Data/Skyrim.esm
I've looked, and sure enough, the file isn't there. In fact, the downloading file is completely empty. I've reinstalled the game. I've reinstalled the manager. I've done a file restore. Nothing. So now there are a bunch of exclusive mods I want to use, but no way to get them. I'm having no technical problems with my game, however. Is there anyone that can help me?

That whole directory seems invalid. Isn't it suppose to be;

C;\Program Files (x86)\steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Skyrim.esm ?

I think NMM can redetect your skyrim installation folder. Did you happen to have installed and ran NMM while Skyrim was still downloading and didnt finish installation?

I think you're right, but no I wasn't. I'll try reinstalling again.

Reinstalling didn't work, it's still asking for the nonexistent file.

*shrug* I don't see how there's "no way to get them". Download and install the mods manually, silly.

Honestly, NMM kinda sucks IMO anyways. I always install manually. Sure it's more cumbersome to uninstall, but you have more control.

I FINALLY GOT IT AND I'M REALLY STUPID WITH COMPUTERS!!!

The error message says skyrim.esm is missing in Program Files(x86) > steam > SteamApps >downloading > 72850 > Data

Well like SerfT said
location of skyrim.esm and mods/dlcs is
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data

These are two different folders and NMM wants the esm files in the Data folder for 72850.
So simply copy and paste all files from
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data
to
Program Files(x86) > steam > SteamApps >downloading > 72850 > Data

IT WILL WORK AND IT'S COMMON SENSE TOO. NMM WANTS esm files in a SPECIFIC folder so might as well copy all the esm files to the SPECIFIC folder.

Hope I helped I was bogged down with problem too :)
