midnight4394
Hello, I'm having trouble getting my setup to run stably. The game boots up and only crashes to desktop after loading or starting a new game. I'm at wit's end; I must have spent a solid 24 houors trying to trouble shoot this on my own. I really need some help and any direction as to how this issue can be fixed would be greatly appreciated. Mod Manager: Vortex 1.4.12 Game: Fallout 4 with all DLCs # of Mods: 94 Plugins in 69 (he he) mods Specs: Windows 10 x64 8GB I had installed a number of mods, including Unique NPCs but was getting the brown face glitch. I realised I hadn't downloaded the Unique NPCs HD Texture HD DLC Replacer. When I did that fixed my brown face glitch but my existing save would quickly crash to desktop. This problem persisted even after starting a new game. I have gone through my plugins in Vortex's Plugins Tab. I have set plugin rules to ensure that all the dependencies for every active plugin are satisfied. I have not altered the groups of any of my plugins as I figured setting rules for which plugin should follow after which other plugin would suffice. I have verified the integrity of the game's files, and when disabling all of my mods in Vortex's Mods Tab, the game does run. When all of my mods are installed there are no missing masters, and my mod rules are as suggested. I'm unable to pinpoint which of my mods is the cause for the game's instability as many of my mods rely on the .esp's of other mods for masters. I really need some help figuring out what I need to do to get these mods working again, please. I'd prefer to not have to switch to another mod manager, if it can be avoided. HeyYou
Try removing the better locational damage stuff. See if that makes a difference.
Guest deleted34304850
you should look to install buffout4 and its prerequisites. this mod brings some stability to fo4, and also, in the event of a dump, gives some information which can be used to try and diagnose the root cause of the dump.i'd also suggest you first disable then purge all your mods in vortex, delete your data folder from your fallout directory, then validate your local files via steam. after that, start the game - it should be brand new, vanilla.if you get a successful game start - your on the way.you can then reinstall your mods - i'd suggest a few at a time and make sure that your game continues to start up without issue.but seriously - buffout 4 and its prerequisites will give you a helping hand. Try removing the better locational damage stuff. See if that makes a difference. That did it. hahaha, dang, all this time I thought the issue was with unique NPCs, never considered it might be something else. THANK YOU! The issue's been resolved.
