savior99
Hi, playing SkyRe at the moment but i am kinda hardcore RPGamer and would like to start Requiem. I was looking for some info re compatibility but couldn't find any. 1 - Is requiem compatible with other mods in general? I guess graphics / textures / UI mods should be compatible. Also CoT, lanterns of skyrim, better torches, WATER, real ice, religthing skyrim shouldn't be a problem, i presume. 2 - What about deadly dragons and SkyTEST? 3 - And for combat, do you use it with other combat mods or you just keep the included modifications ? 4 - Is the perk tree as good as the one in SkyRE (i love it) ? 5 - Which mods do you use it with and do you have any suggestion on what to use and what not to? Thanks guys
billyro
Requiem is fine with graphical mods, so all those will work fine alongside it. It is however quite fussy with a lot of other mods. While I personally haven't tested Requiem with Deadly Dragons or SkyTEST, I can foresee a few incompatibilities between them. Usually, whatever is loaded last in the load order gets their say, so if you put those mods beneath Requiem, it should work ok. And, it's a good practice to make Bashed Patches with Wrye Bash because this usually sorts out levelled list problems that may be experienced. ;)
savior99
apologize, i've finished now the readme file (really long) and the compatibility is at the end, didn't notice it first. he reccommends deadly dragon and SkyTEST to be loaded after requiem indeed. what do bashed patches mean? never used that but since i was kinda hating reproccer (and i guess it's smth similar) with skyre, i will try not install any item/enemy changing mod, only dragons and skytest so maybe i will not need that, right? nevertheless, suggestion on how to best implement it are welcome EDIT: i was reading some more and discovered that fast travel is disabled. I know, really nice and immersive, but is there an easy way to re-enable it with requiem? also, quest markers on map and compass are disabled? i couldn't live without them, really. Can you confirm they cannot be used with requiem or there is a way? this would make me change my mind in using it actually and would be really sad Edited June 6, 2013 by savior99
tiggerdyret
Bashed patch is a feature of Wrye Bash which combines your level lists of all your mods it's a little like the reproccer but not as annoying. Imo wrye bash is ten times better than NMM and not harder to use. In WB you have an install order to to handle your mods. Which makes it much easier to see which texture overwrites which. Try it out, you can still use NMM to download to your Bash mods folder and get the best of both world :) Another alternative is making a merged patch with Tes5edit. It merges more than just the level lists and is therefore better, but I understand that bashed patch is better at making the lvl lists. You can use both of them. I don't know much more than this, but I'm going to test it out fairly soon. About Requiem: I used it with almost all of the mods he listed on his compatibility page and I don't think I had any problems.I actually think he implemented some of the Armors and weapons on some NPCs. Ulfrich was wearing an immersive armor which he doesn't do when I'm using that mod with vanilla... Cool :) But all in all I wouldn't recommend Reqiuem. Some of it is amazing and really well thought out, but other things are just annoying and unballanced. I'm a hardcore gamer myself, but I like to feel that a game requires skill to master. In the case of Requiem it feels more like luck and patience. Like the bows for instance. At level 12 i still got oneshotted by every single archer i met and the gameplay of skyrim just isn't built around dodging arrows (and that was after turning down global damage). And it's neither very realistic or immersive to die of one arrow shot and have to reload again and again. Some of these things you can adjust, but I found out there were so many things I'd had to tweak that I might as well install single component mods and more control. But try it out and let me know what you think maybe I'm just to impatient. As i said some aspects of it are amazing.
savior99
thanks man, i will try wrye bash maybe next time i install... this thing of arrows seems really tough though...don't know, sounds frustrating...actually the best thing that attracts me from this mod is the "non-scaling" of monsters. Actually this is what i was looking for when someone pointed me to SkyRE...then i realized that even there enemies scale with your level (even though a bit differently than in vanilla but stil lthey do)...and i don't want that. I want to go in a dungeon where they kick my ass. Pin that, and go back when i am stronger and kick their ass back! there is also another mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9857/? , skyrim scaling stopper, but is not much endorsed and i read smth was not quite right...if i found a good mod that stops scaling i might also go for that. But i can also be very patient and try requiem out. And i will be an archer as well so they have to be careful too  Edited June 6, 2013 by savior99
tiggerdyret
It seems like we have the same tastes in gaming  The reason why I didn't try scaling stopper is because it seems too random. I just want a static believable world that doesn't level with me. Asis has a module called Asis - Encounter zones, which does exactly that. I have tried it out for a few hours and it seemed cool. I know he made it so that dungeons near towns are lower level and the further into the wilderness you get the harder it gets too, but I don't think item-scaling stops. As far as I know you don't need the main module. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/18436/?tab=2&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D18436&pUp=1 One i haven't tried, but am gonna try out is ERSO's Main 08 module, which also scales items. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26217//? I don't know if he has put any thought into which dungeons have which level, but it would seem like it.This is from the description:This mod transforms Skyrim into a real unleveled World. Your enemies (and random loots) don't grow anymore around you. Now you could find both monsters and enemies undefeatable to your level (so that you must flee away to save your life) either enemies more weak than you. You can feel and live the growth of your character, from a poor and not experienced man or woman to a mighty hero, into a world harder and more realistic than vanilla Skyrim.Skyrim is divided into 276 Encounter zones (every one could be a dungeon, a castle, a tower, an open space...). In vanilla Skyrim most of them have a dynamic level of difficulty, so that they are always at the same (truly a bit under the) level of playerNow this setting is over, so you will find:21 zones (7,61%) with level of difficulty (and random loots) 1-530 zones (10,87%) with level of diff. (and random loots) 6-1026 zones (9,42%) with level of diff. (and random loots) 11-1538 zones (13,77%) with level of diff. (and random loots) 16-2036 zones (13,04%) with level of diff. (and random loots) 21-2532 zones (11,59%) with level of diff. (and random loots) 26-3026 zones (9,42%) with level of diff. (and random loots) 31-3525 zones (9,06%) with level of diff. (and random loots) 36-4042 zones (15,22%) with level of diff. (and random loots) 41+ (and more = these zones are uncapped!) For more hardcore item loot you can try out Morrowloot, which removes a lot of items from the level list and places them in certain dungeons. Which makes the item system a little more like morrowind. It goes well with both Asis and ERSO. Edited June 7, 2013 by tiggerdyret

13coins
i believe there is a skytest compatiility patch for Requeim, i use over 50 mods. and have used far more than that with Requeim, it is compatible with alot. although perhaps not fully. Nevertheless requeim is really an awesome mod. and the arrow thing, it can be very dangerous yes. Advice: wear heavy armor, or obtain as spell called blur. the last one is an illusion spell, so mages can deal with arrows. If you want to be some sort of skirmisher with light armor, be cautious and level up sneak ;) br,
