SSE Controller, typing entries on screen in game, issues

Has anyone ever solved the issue of entering data in a game box (like Add Item menu) whilst using a controller?

 

I'm fed up from years of finding the letter 'A' will jump to before the previous letter, and the letters E and L will likely crash the input box.

 

The console is OK, it's just the game input boxes.

 

I do have a controller/keyboard combo mod.

 

Anyone know of a solution? Thanks!

I have not settled on other controller layout bindings because I am very comfortable with this.

Update - yes, this has solved my problem thanks! Maybe I should have tried a few schemes. I got welded onto the idea there was a problem!

I'm glad my suggestion helped you :)

 

For reference, I'm using Unbound Experimental 2 under Miscellaneous, GammaLead was kind enough to create it on my suggestion. It assigns B for jumping and leaves Y empty (because that is usually the button to press when renaming enchanted gear).

I'm also using this app because Steam controller isn't supportive enough of all the features (at least for me). I'm using PS4 Controller, maybe that's why.

 

The only mod I've noticed this scheme doesn't work on is Take Notes, but that mod generally doesn't support controllers.
