SisterUlicia
So I got a new computer and installed Skyrim on another drive. I moved the Vortex staging folder to the same drive my Skyrim SE is installed but not the directory folder. I got employment to work, it went through the motions but this picture is literally all I get when I try to use FNIS. I have the skeleton installed as well as compatible animations. But this is the first time I have tried installing Skyrim on another drive. It isn't reading that Skyrim or anything else is installed. lol Not sure what I did wrong, the mods are all pretty basic. Ty for any help!

Ty for any help! First things first... Are you playing SKYRIM, or Skyrim Special Edition? The reason I ask is because this is the SKYRIM forum, not the Skyrim Special Edition Forum. Which makes me wonder if you're running FNIS for Skyrim or Skyrim Special Edition? How did you Move the Vortex Staging Folder to the same drive? Did you use Vortex to move it, or did you just use windows explorer to move it? Looking at the error message, it clearly states that FNIS is incorrectly running for your mod staging folder, rather than your Game folderFNIS should NOT be running from your mod staging folder. SisterUlicia
TY for the reply. Sorry, I didn't realize about the forums. :( I did say it was SE. The FNIS I'm using is also for SE. I moved the staging folder via Vortex, not manually. If it's running from that folder instead of where it needs to be, is there a way to change that? This is only my second time using Vortex and I couldn't find any options regarding the Skyrim folder.

The path to FNIS should be exactly the same from Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_users\
SisterUlicia
So I ran it manually straight from the Skyrim folder (was doing it through Vortex before). Not sure why I didn't try that but it worked! I checked the target folder and it's the same. I changed the target just to change it back and now it's working. Weird. THANK YOU. :-)

THANK YOU. :-) Go to the Vortex dashboard, click ADD TOOL, in the TARGET field, click the Folder Icon, Navigate to the Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_users\ folder and select GenerateFNISForUsers.exe The START IN field should auto fill in with Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_users\ Click SAVE, and you can run it from the Dashboard when needed.
