FO4edit doesn't see my mods

Vortex has LOOT built in, you don't need a separate version of it. BUT, if you do install it, again you need to launch it through the Vortex Dashboard.

Okay, basics. When you install a mod using Vortex it doesn't install those mods to the FO4 directory. They are stored in a folder in your %APPDATA% directory (which is normally hidden from the user). Doing this allows Vortex to have multiple profiles, which are basically sets of mods. Different profiles can have different mod lists.

This means that the game's plugins.txt and loadorder.txt are not where a vanilla install of FO4Edit or LOOT expect to find them. What you are seeing is what happens when the vanilla txt files are used.

You need to go to the Vortex Dashboard page. The main box there, the one with the game picture, has a button to Add Tool. Click on that, pick New, and use the window that pops up to add FO4Edit. Then use the Dashboard to launch the editor.

Do the same for other tools, Bodyslide, LOOT, CK, etc. You use Vortex, you need to launch everything through Vortex.

And stop thinking you need to personally manage your load order. Vortex does the majority of that for you, and in general does a decent job. It also makes user load order management difficult, with a steep learning curve on how to manipulate the load order yourself. On the rare occasion where you need to fix something yourself you'll use the Plugin page to add rules about "pluginA must load after pluginB". Going beyond that is possible, but rarely necessary.

Thank you for your help, I will try.

I wanted to test my game, and I can't get my game to fill my screen. I have tried numerous settings. Can you think of what could be wrong?

Go to your My Games/Fallout 4 folder, edit Fallout4Prefs.ini, look for the following lines in the [Data]

bMaximizeWindow=0
bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=0
iSize H=1080
iSize W=1920

Those are from mine. It says "run the game in a borderless window with the size 1920x1080". If you don't see those lines, add them.

I did what you wrote, and fo4 is still taking up only 3/4ths of my screen.

my screen is 2560x1080.

Am I just unable to play this game on my monitor?

Ultrawide monitor? I'm not sure. The game might not be capable of supporting anything above 1920x1080.

Try this: set iSize W=2560. Note that there is a space between "iSize" and "H" or "W".

Now, copy your Fallout4Prefs.ini from the My Games\Fallout4 folder to your game's Fallout4\Fallout4 folder. Yes, in the main Fallout4 folder is another Fallout4 folder that contains one file also named Fallout4Prefs.ini. I dunno why lol But copy the one from My Games to that folder, overwriting the existing one so that both Fallout4Prefs.ini are the same and contain the settings for a borderless window of your desired size.
