vista and fallout

ok any1 with vista probally knows by now that vista is......overprotective of files located in the c programs folder like if i want a new mod when its in c programs i have to start all over to use it so i want to move it to the desktop when i do this the launcher must keep looking in c programs for data files becouse i open it up to select my mods nothing is there so the game loads everything but i dont want everything load does any1 know how i can set the search path of the launcher to were i want it

 

edit~

i also hate when adding mods to it i got to go threw a *ban* police interigation just to add mods to c programs

Ok, I have another idea.go to

 

C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Fallout3 ,

 

you should see a file called "plugins.txt" delete it (this clears the memory of what mods you have activated) the launcher should be able to make a new one when you select your mods again.

 

BTW: when you said you "moved it" you didn't mean you just copied it to a new location did you?*

Are you guys serious? JUST DEACTIVATE UAC! I have vista and i use it fine with everything installed to c:\program files. Seriously it's simple, just google turning off UAC in vista. UAC = User Account Controls. If you knew this already, then i apologise
