I am thinking about upgrading my graphic card for Skyrim.

Currently using ATI HD 5750, 1G vram.

If I want to install texture/graphical enhancement mods all I want and run the game at the ultrawide resolution of about 5600x1050 and still get 60fps, what chipset and what kind of card do I need?

I would like to keep it under $300 (I will need to upgrade power too, so...), but I realize that's probably unrealistic given the aspiration for texture mods and ultrawide resolution. I wouldn't mind it going over a bit. I am willing to sacrifice fps down to 30fps.

Some suggestions and pointers about the spec items that I should pay attention to would be appreciated.

Thank you.

What are your system specs, no one is going to be able to help you with out those. To get your system specs go to your start menu and go to the search bar and type "DxDiag"

Also your Box size if your using a desktop.

Thanks for responses.

I'm away from home now and can't post my spces now.

My idea was that my cpu and ram didn't seem like bottlenecks, (don't know the exact spec of the cpu but it's a quad core one, and I have 8 g ram. Don't know the ram speed off the top)

I actually have that same resolution with only one Nvidia GTX 660 ti witch is over clocked to about (920 core clock) and (3500 memory clock) system spec :amd Phenom II x4 965t unlocked 6 cores and over clocked to 3.9 ghz 8 gb of ram and 3 hp 2211x Monitors.

I dunno much about the ATI because I stopped using ATI a long time ago ever since that I have been using the nvidia. so I can say Skyrim wants at least gt450 to work properly with a decent frame rate. also make sure to check the reviews before buying. and keep this in your mind the performance is depend on the system configuration so if you have a low end processor don't expect a good performance with a high end graphic card.

Oh and don't forget to test the System with Ungine Heaven right after bought the graphic card so you can get a basic idea about the performance of your system before jumping to the Skyrim. Skyrim is actually a buggy game so it would be better use a properly codded program like Ungine to analyze the performance.

hope this helps you. :)) good luck then.!
