Vortex Is "Checking Archives" *Constantly* When I'm Installing / Uninstalling Mods

Hi

So a couple months ago I was fiddling around in Vortex after I had just reinstalled Windows, Fallout 4, and Vortex. Well, for the heck of it I tried the "Restore Save Game Plugins" feature out in the Save Games tab (to ensure that I had no missing mods), and boy have I come to regret it. Since then, every time I go to install or uninstall a mod, Vortex checks my archives MANY, MANY times (usually 3+ times over when installing just one mod). I've tried to find some kind of setting to disable this, but haven't been successful. What bothers me the most is that Vortex never did this before I used the "Restore Save Game Plugins" feature, and that it just spams my notification center in the top right when I'm installing / uninstalling a mod.

If anybody can give me some pointers on what I might be doing wrong, or what I need to do, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

so you want me to make something up then? i mean, that's how it works. you install/remove a mod - it will go through all your files reapplying stuff.

So you probably updated from a super old version of Vortex. When you make any change to your plugins list (enable/disable/auto sort) once the sort has finished, Vortex will run a scan over all BSA or BA2 archives included with the game to ensure they are correctly formatted for the game. This code reads the first 8 bytes of each file so it should take no more than a few seconds (unless you have several hundred archives). Even then it's a single progress notification that disappears on it's own unless it finds a problem.

Perhaps I'm thinking of something else?

i think you are correct Picky.

I wonder if this message could be added to the message suppression list in Vortex? Personally, I want to see it, but if someone else wants to suppress it - then allow that option? of course this will inevitably lead to "my vortex is spinning doing nothing" when in fact it's doing a ton of checking/validating.

however, i think an option to hide the message would be a good thing to have?

It's a possibility I suppose, although I'm beginning to think this is a bug because for one, since I began using Vortex upon initial release, I have always kept it up to date, and for two, there isn't only one notification in my case, contrary to what you are saying oddly enough. More specifically, when this issue occurs, around 3 or more individual notifications will pop up one after another "checking archives" - essentially spamming my notifications with it.
