Odioss
As some people may know, i recently wrote a post asking for Unwrapping help. As I have "Gotten the hang of it" more or less, i have begun the tedious process of the actual art portion. However, again as expected on a first try at something, i have run into problems. These however, should be easier to explain and help with. When i Unwrapped the model, and made the base color texture, i have come across the problem that the gun looks far too... new... for a post apocalyptic game. Here are my questions A) How would i go about making it look more worn?B) Do I add a new layer and add scratches? Will that be enough? or should i try to make dirt stains as well?C) Would i do these two ideas via overlays, or hand painting on the surface? I apologize for the sheer amounts of questions, but again, This is my FIRST ever attempt at modelling, texturing, AND UV's, so i don't have much experience with any of these. The only real "Texturing" I've done thus far have been re textures (mind you, they sucked) Basically any help would be appreciated, and i can give you my current base textures if requested, and to find my model, you can simply follow the link to here : "P3d.in/Gjona" Thanks! DizzasterJuice
Millenia made these awesome tutorials. I think parts 3 & 4 are what you want but all of them are very informative. He also included his photoshop brushes for that worn look. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL925958D31D8D30C7
