eriste
I tried using the Nexus Mod Manager that's suppose to install the mods to your games but when I launch the game I got from Steam I don't see any of the game save character mods I've supposedly installed (I installed the Rebecca character mod as well as the other saves that come with it) and when I go to my load saved game option they aren't there. Am I doing something wrong or is it not possible to mod games you buy from Steam? And if I'm doing something wrong please tell me what I should do (I also downloaded some weapon, armor, clothing, hair and body replacer mods such as DIMONIZED TYPE3 female body - ALICEpackage). M48A5
There is a lot of information available here on the Nexus regarding modding Fallout 3. Start here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/652876-fallout-3-modding-and-you/ andhere: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/82738-fallout-modelling-mini-tutorial/Also, read the entire mod description page. There are usually install instructions there or in the ReadMe. Also, if the mod description says to install using FOMM, use FOMM to install the mod. eriste
I followed the read me instructions for the mods I installed (most just said to place them in the data folder in the Fallout 3 folder) and they still won't work.
eriste
Never mind, I think I know what I'm doing now, got the character mods to work and the companion mods to work, now all I have to do is work on the other mods I added.
eriste
Ok, I need help again, I tried installing the PDA pip boy replacer and I got a message saying that I need to either uninstall the mod or install FOSE, so I installed FOSE and tried to launch my game with it but when I started loading a save my game crashed and now I have no clue how to get rid of the mod, I've tried removing it from my data folder and removing it from the Nexus Mod Manager but it's still there and I can't figure out how to get my old pip boy back, to I need to wipe out everything on my computer and start all over with my mods? pkleiss
Fallout uses BSA files (in your \data folder) to store many game files. They are stored in a hiarchy with \data as the root. The way the game works, when it needs a file, it looks through your data folder and its subdirectories for the file. If it can't find it, it searches the BSA. Some mods add 'replacement' files in the proper folder on your hard drive. In this case, if you want to remove the mod that is giving you fits, you will need to locate the files added to your \data structure and delete them. Just open the PDA pipboy archive and you will see the files and folders added. You must remove the files, but you don't have to remove the folders. M48A5
@eriste,Are you using Alexscorpions Pipboy PDA? If so, you need to re-read the description page. He states that you need FOMM to install the mod. He also give instruction on how to uninstall the mod.
