BahamutKaiser
Having the same problem, it's really strange, because my friend started a new character recently and it didn't have any problems, but then, think the FNIS didn't engage til during the tutorial, since I had just loaded it... Wyrdthane
I had this problem too, with NO mods, not even official DLC's. What fixed it for me was setting the refresh rate of the monitor to 60Hz. I have a high refresh rate monitor, and apparently it doesn't play nice with Skyrim. Skyrim requires 60Hz, no more than that.Hello from 2017. I made a fresh install just to try out the Forgotton Magic Redone mod, and i had this issue. This fix worked. I not only had the wagon bug, but also many other objects in the game would bug out in the same way so using alternate start mod gave me a similar issue with water and random object on shelves flying around. lowering my monitors refresh rate to 60hz fixed everything. Thank you.
wolfheart84
In my case it was the Immersive Armors. Although, i had some very(extremely) few good starts with the mod installed. Ordinator + IA or Requiem + IA... same thing. Not sure what`s happenin` with IA`s armors , or mybee it`s the eps. After all i`m not sure HOW the carts are working. What i`m sure is that on the Requiem game, when i succeeded to reach Helgen , the game had no other issue with IA.PS: You can reach to Helgen ... sometimes... even if the cart`s messed. And it won`t have any side effect on the game.

Cecell
Btw good news to all those who use "Immersive Armor by Hothtrooper". He has updated the mod at the end of last year to resolve the scripting of his mod during the Helgen sequence.it ain't fixed. It is still happening. I disabled it got through Helgen without a hitch and then reenabled it all. Now all is well.
PaleHorseRiderX
Four years later, I can confirm- it was due to FNIS animations.Uninstalling all custom animations and running GenerateFNISForUsers before starting the game fixed it all for me.And disabling city overhaul mods too. poncington
Just chiming in here since it looks like it's been happening to a lot of people. i had the same issue and removing mods did nothing. i fixed it by enabling vsync in nvidia control panel for skyrim. fast sync doesn't work. it has to be plain old vsync. coolAlias
Disabling Immersive Armors (8.1 SSE) worked for me. I don't have FNIS installed so can't comment on that.
welloliveira
I was having the same problem. I was going through ALL of my mods and even did a complete CLEAN re-install of the game and nothing seemed to work. then I realized there was one Mod that I thought couldn't be causing any problems and I un-installed it and then it worked fine. once I got past Helgen and on my way to Riverwood I stopped saved my game and re-installed the mod. the Mod I'm referring to is the FNIS mod. (Fores New Idles). if you have that installed try removing it and getting past Helgen and then re loading it. also I just tried de-activating it, that doesn't work. you have to do a complete removal of it to keep the carriages from bouncing and or the game from ctd. I hope this helps. I am finding if you are having problems like these with your game. try working with any animation mods you may have installed. they can cause the Havok game engine to run weird sometimes if they aren't of the original animations in the Skyrim.bsa Dude thank you very much you saved me... i love you
ACVoxxx
I found an easy solution. Don't know why it works, but once your in the cutscence just stare at the floor of the carriage. The camera will get bumped around a bit through the ride. So just do your best to keep as much of the scenery outside the monitor to were your just seeing the carriage floor. My ride makes it everytime.
