I'm looking forward to this mod as well, shouts are a bit underwhelming in the vanilla game. I want to be a "DRAGONBORN" because that's one of the central points of the game.

Of course I am looking forward to Mesmerverse too =p

So far every update you posted looks awesome and I'm very excited ^.^

FUS RO DAH!

To be fair Dragonborn is quite misleading .

You are just a descendant of people who could understand and speak in dragon tongue because they were taught by a dragon.

Looking forward to this mod as well ^^

The PC has the soul and blood of a dragon, giving him/her the innate ability to speak in the Dragon tongue. They are not distant ancestors of the Greybeards or something.

Magically getting the soul of a dragon, too many plot holes missing there~

and how it just happens that only the last Dragonborn has the innate ability is a little e.e also.

all in all their are too many plotholes for me to accept the "official reason"

The whole being Dragonborn thing is a gift from Akatosh. It has nothing to do with being descendant from anyone. It's simply that you are a chosen of Akatosh. Also all the Dragonborn's have been able to absorb the souls of Dragons, but there were no dragons during the time most of the Dragonborn were alive. I don't see any real plot holes here.

^ I facepalmed when I first discovered that the last word of the most powerful shout was Dov. Yep, it took lots of adventures and battles to figure out the word for dragon, which by the way is the first draconic word you ever heard ("Dov-ahkiin!").

I've been doing some bugfixing.

Bugfixes
Major
- Learning Drain Vitality before completing Marked For Death would cause you to end up with a bugged phantom shout in your inventory and unable to complete Marked for Death. To fix this, I modified the dragon Drain Vitality (which for some mysterious reason used Marked For Death words) to use the correct words.
Minor
- Animal Allegiance: Now correctly considered a Shout, and dispels other shouts on targets.
- Battle Fury: Now correctly considered a Shout.
- Bend Will: Third charge is now correctly considered a Shout.
- Call Dragon: Now correctly considered a Shout.
- Call of Valor: No longer cancelled by spell absorb.
- Clear Skies: Now correctly considered a Shout.
- Cyclone: No longer marked as a Destruction spell; now correctly considered a Shout.
- Dragonrend: Now correctly considered a Shout.
- Elemental Fury: Cast shader no longer has a looping sound that tended to get stuck looping forever.
- Fire Breath: No longer marked as a Restoration spell.
- Frost Breath: No longer marked as a Destruction/Restoration spell.
- Marked For Death: Instead of reducing armor by 25/50/75 for 60 seconds, it permanently reduced armor by this amount once per second for 60 seconds (cast on dragon, wait until end, punch dragon in face, dragon keels over dead). This bug has been fixed, and to compensate for this significant nerf, the armor penalty is increased to 50/100/150.
- Soul Tear: No longer grants Conjuration experience; a failed incantation is no longer considered a Shout.
- Storm Call: No longer deals damage to teammates of the player (but may still target them).
- Summon Durnehviir: Can no longer be summoned indoors, due to the high chance of him getting stuck; no longer cancelled by spell absorb.
- Whirlwind Sprint: No longer marked as a Destruction spell.
Also, the final list of shout reducing abilities:
Storm Crown - your shout cooldown is removed when entering or leaving combat.
Way of Peace - shouts only have 10 second cooldowns when used outside of combat.
Double Tap - your first shout in combat has no cooldown. (Needs new name)
Power: Unyielding Storm - 1/day, for 10 seconds your shouts have no cooldown.

(( all in all their are too many plotholes for me to accept the "official reason" )) - well now your just disregarding the lore because you don't like it =P

- Fire Breath: No longer marked as a Restoration spell.

- Whirlwind Sprint: No longer marked as a Destruction spell.

haha wtf, these are vanilla bugs?

Sounds good Enai!

Well the main reason is because of the lore in skyrim itself, through out books you find. I enjoy reading them idk about anyone else. but through reading you begin to question

Who is Akatosh really? and why would akatosh give you anything in the first place?

heres a link to one of the books for those who don't have it/lazy to find it.

For the changes to Storm Call, in your version what would be consider a "team mate"

Followers and pets ("IsPlayerTeammate == 1").

Casting a shout will grant speech xp based on its cooldown and shout power scales with speech skill level (1% per 1 speech level).

The SkyRe compatibility patch simply turns off SkyRe's redundant speech scaling (which required him to attach scripts to every shout magiceffect instead of just a single script lololcopter) and reassigns my keywords to his perks. Bob's your uncle.

So if used with skyre one of the perks is a waste? Can't remember if it was essential to to take to open up other perks, hope not. On a side note, what about the other shout mods, that modify (enpower, since they are weak) the existing shouts, compatibily will be an issue now, I suppose. If yes, may I suggest you look at the vanilla shouts too? Firebreath is kinda essential, since, well it's firebreath.

Can't help with double tap, I'm terrible with cool names...even naming characters fells like labor.

I've been blamed for so much today so I'll keep this short.

  • SkyRe grants speech exp when you use a shout, I turn this off and do it myself. Also I replace his keywords with my keywords. That's all.
  • I don't see why existing shouts would suddenly become incompatible and I didn't say anything of the sort.

There are odd things going on with Storm Call. Apparently it does a 100-150 radius aoe and applies a short stagger and the ProjectileStorm script to everything it hits, on top of applying the same script to the caster. So both the caster and everyone within that area becomes a little Storm Call emitter, periodically dropping lightning on nearby targets. At 3 words, opponents don't get hit by their own lightning though (making the spell weaker against 1 target). Also, the version the caster gets only drops level 1 lightning regardless of number of words.

When you stack the shout with itself, it does stack on other units but not on the player, so you still cast only a limited number of piddly lightning bolts while everyone else gains the ability to call down twice as much lightning.

Aside from fixing the above, I also made the empowered version deal 120 damage instead of 80 and throw enemies into the air.

The effect from Dragonborn Frost (the Dragonborn DLC ability) is changed. Instead of turning your Frost Breath into Frost Breath + Ice Form, it now makes your Frost Breath apply a debuff. When hit by anything while under the effect of this debuff, the debuff is consumed and the victim is sent flying for 60 damage.
