GhostBear250
I am running Fallout 4 on the PC via STEAM. I have downloaded the Homemaker mod and I want to install it? How do I do it? What files do I need to copy and which ones require replacing? I have virtually no experience using mods for Fallout 4.
aurreth
Not using a mod manager? You really should. Especially since Homemaker comes with a FOMOD installer, which lets you choose which options to install. Manually, extract the archive to a temp directory. Everything in the Data gets copied to your Fallout 4\Data directory. That's the ESM and BA2 files. Then go to C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Local\Fallout4 and add Homemaker.esm to plugins.txt and loadorder.txt. Put an asterix in front of it in plugins.txt to indicate it gets loaded. The other files are optional. If you want to use any of them copy the ESP files for Fallout 4\Data, then add them to the text files same as the main file. Make sure they come after the ESM in loadorder.txt, since they are patches to that file. Or, seriously, get a mod manager. It's a LOT easier. If you are new Vortex handles almost everything for you using "sane" defaults. You use the "Mod manager download" button on Nexusmods, that downloads straight to Vortex, and then you click on the Vortex install button. Done. LeftCoastDogMeat
I'm on a new play through and I got message saying that homemaker.esm is missing. This is not true. I downloaded https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1478?tab=files via Vortex.
