Redirecting old links to the new site (SUGGESTION)

I was looking at old mod lists by some people who made them years ago (almost list I came across with are at 2007) and they were good, and helped me out to make my Oblivion look stunning and fun. Now my problem is that some of the links their are from "tessource." When I got redirected when I clicked them all I got was a "Problem Loading Page, Server Can't Found" page but when I changed the link manually by changing the tessource to tesnexus It redirected me to the same mod page.

I am hoping to see if you guys can make links of the url "tessource.net" redirect people to the mod page of the nexus with ease and no more hassle for guys like me who hoard and download a lot of mods.

I'm pretty sure also that this is not impossible since many sites do it with their old links and/or changed their domain (like blogs)

Thanks for reading my suggestion.

We don't own the tessource.com domain and haven't since 2007, so we can't!

Oh, Is that so? Oh well, I can just copy "tesnexus.com/mods/" and paste it before the mod ID number. It could be nice if it auto directs you though. But I understand the situation.

Just change the name in the link from tessource to tesnexus. We do make this change permanent when we find them - many have already been changed over time. The big problem is on older forum posts that link to mods as tessource.

Note that this only applies to files from 2007 and older that were originally hosted on Tessource. These will be Oblivion and Morrowind only as those were the only games we had mods for at the time.

Is there a huge reason on why tesnexus is tessource back then? I am fairly new to the modding community (like 2 years ago) and I have no knowledge about It. Nor any modding sites for Oblivion and Morrowind except for PES and GHF (Morrowind)

And yes, That's what I've been doing for the past few hours now, copy pasting tesnexus.com/mods/ manually, I'm getting over it actually. But it could be nice too if it can auto direct you to tes nexus.

Yes, there is a huge reason, and it has to do with legal ownership of the name 'tessource'.

If you are finding a lot of dead tessource links you may be looking at some really old and obscure mods - nearly anything that was even remotely popular at the time was changed long ago. And the staff has changed many others (one at a time) when they were brought to our attention.

My guess is you are using the forums to search for mods instead of the files. The forums are intended to discuss the mods, but they include a link back to the mod. These are usually the links that are broken.

On the main Oblivion page http://oblivion.nexusmods.com - look up at the top for the orange 'Files' tab, hover (don't click yet) over it. Pick one of the categories in the drop down - The 'Top Files' will give you well over a hundred of the most popular mods over time. And categories allows you to look at the mods broken into about 20 categories. And all of these have links that work.
