PureSnipe
-I happen to agree with VT on this one. There's a difference in fiction and reality, and a woman truthfully has more potential to be tough emotionally and mentally than a guy does. They may be a bit on the gimped side of physical abilities due to lower levels of a horomone that helps stimulate muscle growth. That doesn't change the mental capacities of them.-ANYWAY, we should really be getting this derailed freight train back on topic, and if either of you two feel it should be debated futher, create a new topic and I'll be glad to contribute. This just ain't the place.-Junin, I know that many are eager to go ahead and have you release the mod, so do you have a guestimate as to when you'll have it released? Don't rush it at all though, cause as I stated before, take the extra time and get it tweaked to be 'juuusss right', as so humorously stated in the movie "Barber Shop", so others won't rag on you about it. Hm, i can't wait. But still, this thread is pretty much useless. Let's let it stay alive by discussing off-topic stuff. Ok, guys play girls in games because they think girls = sexy. Well, i play games to be tough, and guys are tough, therefore i play guys in games. Yes?

As I said, if you want to discuss it further, do it in another topic. I'll even make it for you to put this thread back where it needs to be.And junin, I was wondering, are you planning to model any of the weapons from Crysis? Converge
@Puresnipe: He's adding the scar rifle. Look for it in the screenshots hes posted. @Junin: I don't know what your plans are for the scar but would you consider making the damage 60. That's 9 more than the Chinese rifle. So It's a more powerful alternative. Too many people have made amazing new guns only to give them way too high stats which make them feel like cheat weapons. Also. please make it more accurate than the vanilla rifles. I finally picked up both crysis games after learning about your mod, I swear I'm more excited about it than I am the DLC. w00teh
I think you missed my point. I never said that Rambo wasn't tough. Yeah, he's pretty tough for a fictional character, alright. What I was getting at is that toughness is more than having wide shoulders and physical power, and going by what history's taught us there have been real women tougher than Rambo. I happen to believe that getting shot in the jaw, then still being able to pick off the enemy moments later, all without dying of blood loss is a pretty impressive feat. :ninja: Well seeing as the next post junin makes is probably release, it wouldn't hurt to have a little off-topic discussion. What history taught us? I'm pretty darn sure that you wouldn't be able to name more "tougher" females than males, and my statement was intended to be a generalisation. You can get guys who are more like females than your average girl. My point is excluding the few exceptions and working on generalisation, guys are in general tougher and seen that way. Hence why i agree with Tony's statement, my basis is generalisation, and in most games, media portrayal's guys are seen as such -I happen to agree with VT on this one. Uhh unless you investigated into the emotional and mental capacity of males and females in general, i'm pretty darn sure you have no basis for this judgement. I wouldn't claim either, as i believe every human's mental and emotional toughness relates far more to their experience in life as opposed to being a certain gender. The initial point was a very stereotypical judgement made by tony which i happen to believe is true. You'll find that there are far more "weaker" girls than guys in your everyday life. Atleast thats how it is in my life and i assure it its a very typical one That and i didn't entirely agree with a female version of the nanosuit as it more or less delayed release :P, i appreciate Junin's work, but would've rather just get my grubby hands on this armor ASAP. After all there are no females in Delta Squad
dthumb
I'm sure Junin appreciates how eager we all are with the mod.But I'd urge you all to avoid continuing the above topic, and go about doing something a bit more constructive. Things we know about the mod:-new armors regular and stealth, male and female version-SCAR rifle-new abilities to go with the armor (beating multiple behemoths to a pulp barehanded sounds fun right?)-new quest to get the items I'd say he knows a lot more about modding FA3 than we realize. (He hepls me alot with my own mod, I might be partly the reason for the extra delay. Sorry. :P )Let's say hereleases the nanosuit mod, what kind of mod would you wish for him to make next? Me likey a Metroid Prime Light Suit with matching arm cannon (google it and see why)Or hordes of flying monkeys from the Wizard Of Oz. "Say what!?!?! Flying Mokeys!? That's not even possible! Plus it's completely off topic!" Who cares, I'm veering you away from the potentially problematic discussion that's about to reach boiling point. :whoops:
dyuxi
@d_thumbWe have a Light Chozo Armor now? Wow, things change.I'd like to see a mod similar to the "Transform Hen-Sin Dark Hero". I personally thought this was a real great idea, the character being able to transform into superhero and stuff.
w00teh
Tbh i'd want to see some UT3 armor/Gears of War...They would make nice unique Power Armors IMO. Personally i think junin will be taking a break after all this
dthumb
@dyuxiNope, never played the games. But it sure looks cool. Yeah, the Henshin mod is great, storywise and idea. I've had that for a while now.@Deceptive WarriorOr a power armored mutant hehe. I'd bet you a screeching, creepy flying monkey he'll make another one. Personally i think junin will be taking a break after all thisEh, from what I read in a different thread, the armor in Gears was designed on the power armor from FO 1 and 2. Not that I wouldn't mind seeing it for FO3 :D @Deceptive: Perhaps you understood that incorrectly. I'm referring to mental capabilities. And anyone that doesn't know that women have lower levels of testosterone than men needs to go back to gradeschool biology. Also, link to and excerpt from a study on mental resilience:"Women predominated among the resilient"Link To StudyAnd the reason there's more "tough" males than females? Here's a few excerpts from a site on women's service to the US:"... women did not receive permanent military status until the Women's Armed Services Integration Act of 1948 (Public Law 625-80th Congress)? This bill, signed into law by President Truman on June 12, 1948, granted women permanent status in the Regular and Reserve forces of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and newly created Air Force." "... that 7,000 American military women served in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War? The majority were military nurses assigned to military hospitals, air evacuation, hospital ships, and field units. Some were wounded and the eight women who died are memorialized on the wall at the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial."CitationNow, how many total served? 2.59 millionCitation - My history textbookAlso, in WWII, versus the total in service of: "Approximately 16 million men and women served in the US Military during WW II."Citation"Over 150,000 American women served in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) during World War II. "CitationI don't think I need to elaborate any further as I have proven scientific evidence as to each point... If I do, let me know and I'll find more to present.
