The mods that never were

I was thinking about the mods I was planning to make but never got round to fully completing and realised I had quite a few creations here and there. I was wandering if any one else had mods like this, that they either modelled or penned out but never actually got round to making.

Here’s my list of mods I never finished (fallout 3 and Oblivion)

Armor plated Anubis Helmet - Oblivion (or perhaps fallout 3 if I plan to finish it)

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/plated.jpg

I don’t know why I haven’t completed this yet.. I really should come back to it some day.

T Rex in Oblivion

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio...e_by_tyokio.jpg

I was going to add it into one dungeon secretly along with another mod.. so when some one downloaded it they'd get a surprise when they went deeper into the dungeon. No he wasn’t going to be riding a bike, but that would have been fantastic. He could have like been circling the armor or something.

Some British machine gun (no good at gun names :C) Fallout 3

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/After.jpg

I was making this for some ones mod, I cant remember who now.. I'd probably give it to some one else to texture though because I'm no good at that.

Duel barrelled machine gun - fallout 3

Couldn’t figure out how to get both barrels to fire.

Royal Cuirass - Oblivion

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/cuirass.jpg

Rigging for oblivion was a real pain..

Big.. sword thing - Oblivion

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/BETTUHSWORD.jpg

got tired of big swords, plus some of the objects looked inside out.

Samurai'ish Armor

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio...L_by_tyokio.jpg

didn’t know how to get armor into oblivion at the time. once I figured it out the model didn’t feel as good because I got better at modelling. I later reused the helmet for my Titan armour so an element of this armor still lives on : D

Pointing finger

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/Weapons1.jpg

A gun which is a pointing finger, would have been funny.

Another machine gun - fallout 3

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/Weapons2.jpg

kind looks like a rip off from half life now I think about it.

Samurai Helmet - Oblivion

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y7/tyokio/Helmet1.jpg

Never even tried it in game so I dunno how it would have looked, wasn’t so bad a model though.

There were numerous levels I was trying to make but never completed.. I was thinking of working on a city for fallout which would have been located on water.. because fallout hasn’t got one of those "coughrivetcitycough". I was also trying to make a city which would have been located on an air base, floating above the wastelands.

Its a shame I probably wont be able to complete any of those ideas :C but if they had any use at all, they certainly gave me some 3d modelling practise.

So what mods did you guys have which never came to light (for fallout 3, oblivion or any other game)?

i gave up on 2 mods one from fallout 2 and one from diablo 2

the one from fallout 2 was mainly a map mod it added a new vault or bomb shelter to every town in the game. Didnt name it.

The one from diablo 2 added in 50 new monster animations and i had over 2000 new unique and set items inserted into the game and then i just lost interest. also not named.

I've usually finished what I started in the mod department, but I had a lot of things that I was toying with that never saw the light of day... but nothing was ever project related. Usually when I got drunk or something and came up with an idea I thought was awesome at the time.... by the end of the weekend I was shaking my head.

A lot of the mods I wanted to finish were just way out of my league at the time, so I guess it good to start off small in the end after all lol. While working on these things I was making animated short films too, so that might have had some impact on the creation of these mods too. also everything will sound 1000 times more awsome when drunk : D

I considder myself fortunate, the mods I wanted to make ended up being made or in the works by those far better at it than I.

I'll quote myself now so you can see what I mean...

I don't know if the CS is coming or not, but if it does what would you like to try?

What I'd like to try...

1. Runaway: a playable children mod

Basically you leave the Vault right after you get the pipboy, it wouldn't mean you would be invincible though.

2. Killer children: Cause daddy don't lock up the gunz no more.

Making the Raiders at the school into kids. (a child killer mod would be highly recommended :P )

3. Orphan: a child companion

I think these would be some neat mods imho.

i made a bunch of mods for oblivion but none really made it out because i think most of it are just so much

costumized for my needs only.

in fallout3 i made the explosive paradise that i never get to finish, it basically make most types of

explosive in any way u could think of... well.... explode :D

it made an experimental weapon that up till now i still haven't finished, it basically 'rains'

the area 400 feet away in front of you with lots of plasma explosive and normal frag explosion :)

it ran on 10 mini nukes per shot, made about 100 explosion in front of you it's fun but impractical o.O

I have 4 out of 5 Merc armors retextured with modded stats... Pretty well ready to be attached to NPCs for an encounter mod I thought up. But, the last of the 5 is a retex of the Merc Troublemaker outfit, and I've yet to survive a single sitting of getting ALL of those bloody buttons, belts, zippers, and that god-forsaken ammo belt selected out for de-sat and retinting the rest. Once I finish that, and the requisite gloves for the set, it'll be working out how to make 15 NPCs (to randomize looks a bit), setting up the encounter with special circumstances (if possible), and the randomized low-chance-to-loot, so that you can't come away with 5 pieces of unique clothing with nice stats every time you come across the team.

And, now I'm pulled full-in on a new retex mod that I'm REALLY hoping to make headway on (mostly because I've wanted this since I found my first 'unique' in FO3.

Oh, and by the way, that pointy hand would ROCK as a basis for a 'spetsdod' weapon mod. (The 'spetsdod' is the weapon of choice in the Matador book series by Steve Perry. A kind of compressed-gas dart gun, molded onto the back of the weilder's hand. The name is roughly translated as 'point death', as the method of firing is to hyper-extend the index finger and 'point' at your target.)

I'm currently stuck working on my armour thingie, but I had this idea that it could be quite fun creating a "remake" of the Dawn of the Living Dead mall using Fallout 3 resources. Basically it'd be the mall as it would have been left at the end of the movie, completely "zombie" infested by the wastelands favourite flesh eaters, the Feral ghouls, and then have notes, journals and terminal entires telling the story as seen from the movie character's point of view. Maybe with the zombie baby from the movie as a grown up, civilized ghoul whose familiy just so happened to be a bunch of ferals. Maybe even have him invite you for tea and a "bite". :D

I've had a bunch of other small ideas that are also just still in the "wouldn't it be cool to have/experience..." category but I tend to forget them rather quickly after concieving them, as I know I'll never get them done anyway. I'm a bit like Skree when it comes to my mod ideas - I prefer doing as much on my own as possible rather than try getting a crew together, though I wouldn't mind joining one at a later date. :P

i think i saw a mod for Counterstrike that implemented imaginary weapons.... really creative ones were the sniper rifle inwhich when you zoom the top hand would form a circle and move up to the camera and peer thru it LOL
