Ever increasing CTD on savegame load / area load

Put together an install of Bevilex + OR + other things that caught my eye (list attached). For the first few hours of play, everything was awesome, but as time has gone on, it's started to get crashier and crashier. I'm at my fourth spot where I can't progress the game. This time, I can't get into the area around Bruma while trying to take Martin to Cloud Ruler Temple -- it simply CTDs as I cross the line to load the next area.

As I said, this is like the fourth time I've had this happen, and so far I've either been able to go back a savegame or two, or go off somewhere else, shopping in IC or something, then come back and it works.

But it's totally sporadic and almost nondeterministic. With the savegames at or near the broken point in the playthrough, they'll CTD on load maybe half the time, then if they do load, trying to proceed crashes it as mentioned. In previous crashy situations, it was the same thing, occasionally it will load a savegame just fine, and very very very occasionally let me get past the crashy spot and proceed with the playthrough.

It's getting tedious, and my inclination is to start over from scratch except I'd really rather fix this one than redo hours of playthrough, then have it just end up doing the same thing after six hours or something. Haven't added or changed anything during this playthrough 'cause I know that path leads to madness. But I seem to have madness anyway.

Any thoughts? Steam Oblivion, xOBSE, mods as attached, MO2 for management, BOSS to sort, WB for bashed patch, cleaned mods with TES4Edit.

Edit: Also tried deleting oblivion.ini and letting the game remake it, which helped one time but is not helping now.

Update: I unexpectedly was able to get past the line of death, and got all the way to Bruma. Saved in there, wandered around, CTD coming out of the Mage's Guild, and of course now my Bruma save won't even think about loading without crashing. This is frustrating and weird.

I assume you installed a bunch of mods before the problem appeared, you should avoid that.

What happens if you sort your mods with LOOT?

MessageLogger?

I mean, yeah the mods were added before the problem (I didn't add them after the error started... ) but it was long long before it -- they were all in place when I started a new game.

LOOT doesn't work for me, it logs a git error trying to get the latest masterlist. I do use BOSS to sort -- I'd thought the accepted wisdom was that BOSS was more up-to-date than LOOT? Or did I get that backwards and you're telling me to do it with LOOT instead of BOSS?

MessageLogger is really unhelpful; it doesn't log anything past initialization. This was from a several-minute roam around Bruma Mage's Guild, upstairs and basement, followed by a crash when leaving to Bruma:

That's the esps but what OBMM plugins do you use? I never heard of xul and do not know what it is?

Do you run EngineBugFixes and ENBoost + enb v0.259?

What size is your save game?

The xul mods are the various sub-parts of the Unique Landscapes Collection.

I'm guessing you mean OBSE plugins, and they're listed near the bottom of my install order:

So, yeah I run EngineBugFixes but not ENBoost. I was under the impression ENBoost was doing the same thing as the memory mgmt stuff in OR, but the various layers of plugins, out there in the world, doing various memory-fixing things is a little bit tangly in my head. I'd love to hear that I have something totally wrong with my selection / install of those that fixes everything.

My savegames are ~2.8MB at this point, not the super bloaty ones.

Thanks!

Hm disabling Oblivion Reloaded makes the whole thing an order of magnitude more stable. I haven't seen a lot of talk about OR being particularly crashy, so I suspect my specific combination of OBSE plugins is bad. More tinkering to come. Any input on the optimal OBSE loadout is welcome.

Autosaves are enabled. I typically Quicksave as I go, doing full saves by hand every time I do something noteworthy, so like every half hour or so. If it's save corruption, there's really no remedy except start over and do better with manual saves only? Is 2.8MB an unreasonable size for a save file?

Save size/bloat does not mean or correlate to corruption

In Oblivion, autosaves are completely broken leading to save corruption. Adding plugins will make this happen faster. There is no fixing a corrupted save. You must disable all autosaves (travel, wait, interior -> exterior, and scripted)

Also in Oblivion, loading a save while in game will lead to save corruption, making quicksaves functionally useless. You should always, at a minimum, return to main menu before loading a save. This again will get worse with more plugins

If you load from a corruptable save type, the corrupting data will still be around for a new clean save to get infected. This means the only option is manual/hard saves. There are a couple save mods that replicate autosaves/timed saves
