Squeecky
Hey all, I used to play Fallout 3 occasionaly, on about a weekly basis. Far in on multiple saves with a bunch of mods- but had no problems, now the game won't start. The FOMM launcher works, but when I click play, nothing. If I go into my Fallout folder and launch base game, nothing happens. I think I know the problem, however.. I updated my drivers, which is the only thing I can think of. How can I get my Fallout 3 to start again? I'd really appreciate any help guys. : ) Do love the game, and I can't bare to start all over again. Cheers,Ken.
geoflo
Hi, (1) one way is to reinstall but don't delete the saved games. that way you still begin where you left off. I don't think updating your drivers is the problem. (2) Did you add a mod the last time you were playing. If so deactivate it and see if that works. M48A5
When you update your drivers, Windows makes a restore point. Go back to that restore point and see if the game works. I had the same problem after an nVidia driver update and I had to revert to the older drivers to play the game.

I had the same problem after an nVidia driver update and I had to revert to the older drivers to play the game. The restore point was over a week or maybe two now ago, I've nearly finished Company of Heroes 2 etc, can't really do that I think. Also, reinstalling the game seems to not be an option, for some reason or other (Don't ask me why :) ) reinstalling the game and then installing the mods, NEVER works for some unknown reason. thomriis
Try deactivating all the mods and see if it will start (theres no penalty for that) you can always enable them again. Alsdo try running the game with integrated graphics, if you use nvidia : go into device manager / double click display adapter / double click on your graphic card / choose driver / choose roll back. Hope it works.

thomriis
yes !! double click on beeldschermen, double click on the icon for your radeon card , click on the second tab from the left in the window that popped up (Driver) , Find the roll back driver option , click on it and confirm yes when youre asked if youre sure you want to do it. are you from Holland ?? must be german, dutch or belgish
Squeecky
Belgian. : ) What are the odds that you can understand, eh?! Awesome ^^ I'll try it out and let you know! Edit: No roll back driver ability, if I press modify it asks me to find programs on my computer.. Christ sake this is why I wish the world would be one language. Would make it a lot easier. http://filesmelt.com/dl/Dikke_kustnest.jpg Nevermind it was in Beeldscherm adapters.I'll try my game now. Huzzah it worked! Now my other games run less smooth though due to an older driver version.. xP This will blow, that I have to constantly switch. Is there any other known solution? thomriis
Im from Denmark so our languages clashes a bit he he. Try RADEONS official driver support site (RADEON.COM), Afraid i cant troubleshoot anything myself cause mine is an Nvidia sorry. Follow the 4 steps or use the auto-detect feature, It should find the appropriate drivers for your card. Hope it helps.
