Lunarthrope
Hello. New modder here, still figuring things out and such. I have installed over 60 mods and now I want to work on the overwrite files that have built up since then. I don't know what to do honestly and wish to get some help and learn all the while. These are files I see when I open it: + meshes+ scripts+ SKSE+ SSEEdit Backups+ SSEEdit Cache+ tools I'll gladly give more information on what is inside each file folder and the mods I have if you need said information to finalize a solution. Note: The last sentence of the topic title is supposed to be "What should be done with these overwrite files?". I don't know how to edit the title to fix the grammar. IsharaMeradin
It is rather difficult to tell you what to do specifically with each file as you have let them build up over time. What I did was pay attention to what went into my overwrite folder after each run of the game or use of a tool. The first time I did something that created files in the overwrite, I would create a new mod via the right click menu. I have "mod folders" such as:xEdit OutputRaceMenu PresetsVarious Mod MCM SettingsWrye Bash Output Then whenever files that are already existing in these folders get updated in-game or from a utility, they won't go into the overwrite folder any more. Any new files that might fall into one of those categories will be drag and dropped into the appropriate location else another new mod folder will be created. In the SKSE folder is a Plugins folder, in that is SimplyKnockData, PoserHotKeys, and a few others. Also a animationdatasinglefile.txt at the very bottom of the SKSE folder.2. In meshes foldier is a folder for actors, auxbones, and I believe several armor sets from the Immersive Armors mod By Hothtrooper44. A couple others too I think are unrelated.3. In the Scripts folder is FNIS _aa2.pex and FNISVersionGenerated.pex.4. In the Tools folder is GenerateFNIS_For_Users.5. I did run Bodyslide for the body and armors I am using.
