Skyrim Lag/Frame rate dropping (Horseback, open world)

Did a forum search and didn't find anything related to my problem. In a nut shell, i get horrible frame rate dropping/lag when im on horseback traveling the lands of skyrim. It doesn't lag anywhere else, apart from when im on my horse. When i'm on foot, its fine. The youtube video has more details. Would really appreciate someone looking into this for me.

Well one thing for sure, you have the Unofficial High Resolution patch, but I'm not seeing the high resolution packs that Bethesda released, as they've stated it only works with that DLC that Bethesda released. I don't think it's part of the problem, but you never know. Another thing that could be causing it is your LOD, your Object Fade, to even the actor fade. Have you tried playing with all the settings? And what graphics setting are you running the game at?

That is a driver Issue..... try the newest Beta 320.49 should help.

Well one thing for sure, you have the Unofficial High Resolution patch, but I'm not seeing the high resolution packs that Bethesda released, as they've stated it only works with that DLC that Bethesda released. I don't think it's part of the problem, but you never know. Another thing that could be causing it is your LOD, your Object Fade, to even the actor fade. Have you tried playing with all the settings? And what graphics setting are you running the game at?

 

How did i not even realise this ? All this time. Anyways, i'll install the Official High Resolution dlc, and see if that helps. I have tried altering settings, set all my quality setting to low and it still did the same thing. I'm thinking it has to be mod related. Anyway, i'll post feedback soon. Thanks.

Driver for my Graphics card ? I downloaded the recent drivers today for my graphics card.

Since a horse is much faster than on foot, it can be your textures loading causing you stutters ... Try this as test;

 

Uninstall all your texture replacers.. like Skyrim HD, SFO, HighRes packs

 

Then try again...

 

If that solves the issue completely...

If you have a HDD (not SSD) you might wanna defrag it. Perhaps your HDD is almost full, maybe your page file is too small, maybe you just didn't reboot for a while. Perhaps your HDD is old and has a lot of bad sectors and whatnot... maybe your just simply running too high res textures altogether.

So I've conducted many tests. The ultimate one was uninstalling all texture mods, mainly outdoor mods such as distance overhaul, flora overhaul, realistic predators etc... I even lowered settings all to low whilst doing so, and im still getting lag spikes. All drivers for graphics cards and PC is up to date as well. It must be a certain mod that's doing this. Appreciate the help so far.

For me, it looks like your PC tries to load the upcoming textures while you run considerably fast on a horseback, causing the stuttering.
