Choppy gameplay patches

Ok, so im wandering around, doesn't matter where, it often happens randomly.( inside or out)

And the game starts being all choppy like, my music skips(itunes) and the game stutters in place, then once it stops, the game is Extremely choppy and laggy.

I'm running the game around mid/low, mostly mid graphics on 4gb of ram and a 512 Nvidia Video Card.

Any tips? Help?

solutions?

Awesome?

one more thing,

Does everyone else have to reload mods when they launch the Fallout 3 launcher?

I have to select the mods every time I wanna play.

Can I make them automatically selected?

:thanks:

You are not alone, this issue seems related to memory leak and the only 'workaround' I know is:

keep something open in the desktop, like notepad or such.

now, when the game begins lagging save it or F5 (quicksave), ALT+TAB to the that previous open application, and return to the game afeterward. Most of times this works, in the few cases it not, quit the game and reload that save.

Use FOMM for mods management and start the game directly, bypassing the launcher (call Fallout3.exe directly. You can edit the desktop icon property or create a new one).

PS: that memory leak may be so big than the page file may grow to absurd and even crash the machine if the disk becomes full. So that workaround may help to prevent this, too.
