thriller16161 Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 I've constructed the foundations of a replacer mod, but now i have a problem. I need to create a new clothing mesh that uses the same names as the vanilla meshes, but i cant figure out what file corresponds to which item. For instance, I want to find the "green Velvet shoes" mesh. However there is no folders telling me where to find the green velvet shoes. Is there a way or a list somewhere that tells us where to find a certain items mesh?
micalov Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Green velvet shoes should be clothes/upperclass/01/ etc but click on the item and look at the file path, by default unless using a replacer they are all inside the BSA folders so will need extracting.
thriller16161 Posted July 15, 2013 Author Posted July 15, 2013 That doesn't help. Each vanilla Clothing file is named either "shoes" "pants" or "shirt" when i click on the item in the console, I only get a hex number
TheMastersSon Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Sorry if I'm misunderstanding the question, but you can just look up what NIF file is used for the green velvet shoes, load the NIF into Nifskope and mesh folder/file info will be included.
Nephenee13 Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Yes, its much easier to find this stuff from the files first, then figure out what they correspond to in the game. A combination of the CS, TES4Edit and NIFSkope is what you need.
HondaTrip Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 I agree, Files load very quickly in Nifskope. You can peruse scores of files in a few minutes. And the ID number will help find it in the CS and TES4edit.
Harvald Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I did my personal Overhaul by unpacking the meshes BSA file with mod manager on a USB-Stick and copying the direkorys I needed to my data/meshes directory. then I changed what I wanted to change and it works. Harvald
