Nexusness Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Ok so Im creating a pirate mod with a questline and at one point in the quest your attacked by a leviathan. I've got most of the stage worked out and running except the sea monster itself, i've fiddled with some things(giant slaughterfish, Giant dreugh etc) but everytime I max out the scale on a creature thier animation no longer work so that approach is out of the question. So my question to you all is Do you know about any Leviathan/seamonster mods that I can contact the author about using?
Eshenaleros Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 well, you could give an akatosh dragon the ability to swim. or you could make the world's biggest slaughterfish
simonp92 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 if you read his post, he says that if you scale the slaughterfish the animations no longer work.. Nexusness@making new creatures is very hard...but you might be lucky..
Boss171 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 i was thinking the very same last night, some reallt titanic beasties maybe rigged to the sluaghter fish skeleton to swim and cyrodil and a few quests linked to studieng and hunting them. if some one was capable of making them id be happy to write some dialogue and quest plots up in word :sorcerer:

I could see about boosting the skeleton in 3dsm not sure of the animation from it though. If someone knows, shout. Otherwise, if i get tired of Doing some Frankenstein on things and retexturing and creating meshes i might quickly give it a try. Scaling in 3dsm is pretty easy. I just dont know how the animations are parented. Otherwise making a new creature like a squid would be a lot of work. Especially with the custom anims.

One is in the actual creature definition, the other is in the placed reference. Between them, you might be able to get the size close enough to what you want. However, it should be noted that large creatures, no matter how their made (Mehrunes Dagon for example) always has some issues with animations, hit detection, combat, or collisions. Ultimately, it just comes down to whatever situation you are dealing with, and how large you need this thing to be.
Vagrant0 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Or you could duplicate the monster's files, use NifScope to make it bigger, then create a "new creature" in CS and place them all over, I guess that could workMeshes - yesSkeleton - kindaAnimations - nope The result would still suffer from the same issues as the creature scaled in the CS.
xxXEvandarXxx Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Maybe not a Leviathan, but there is a mod that adds a giant seamonster, but I still can't remember the name... >:(
xxXEvandarXxx Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Nope, it was a giant monster that would swim around in Cyrodiil and if it found you/you found it, it would kill you.
